Feeling Hot Hot Hot! The Rain Curse is Broken! Two Weeks of Fun in the Sun! COMPLETE

Well dang Beth! You just sucked the fun right out of it didn't ya???

LOL, Hey... I am a mother, I can't give my kids any ideas now...:littleangel::snooty::rolleyes1 It's tough sometimes setting good examples for our kids, we just have to tell them what we want them to hear and debunk all those old tales of Pole Dancing:rotfl2:

LOL, Hey... I am a mother, I can't give my kids any ideas now... We have to keep it clean;)
This IS Alek and Erich we're talking about isn't it??? :confused3 I mean because we already know Lessa has already gone too far off the deep end!!! :rolleyes1

Beth you did a fine job of Pole Dancing !!!See I am just getting more and more competition !!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:Did the Bros Pole Dance ??????

Well. thank you Rosie, I had to get in a bit of exercise for the day, as for the Bros, I have been sworn to secrecy.

This IS Alek and Erich we're talking about isn't it??? :confused3 I mean because we already know Lessa has already gone too far off the deep end!!! :rolleyes1

Hey I tried... and as for Lessa, she is her brother's sister:rotfl2: I better stop before I really get into trouble. Must run and get ready for work.

I had a similar ToT sequence ... and I must say ... it was better. :lmao: It is so not my favorite ride, but DD loves it, so I suffer for her. We only had the one big drop, the rest were short, and I still had a voice and my pants were dry afterwards, so its all good. :rotfl2:

We loved 50s and can't wait to go back next year. I'm glad that you had a great server! (We didn't. Even on regular server standards, she wasn't that great, let alone "in character". :sad2:)

I loved Dad's Brownie Sundae. :cloud9:

I don't know how long DH had to wait before we were all sat. He checked us in while DD and I were riding ToT.

Great update! Loved the "tribute to Rosie". Ahem. ;)

I'm glad we decided on 50's PT. That Brownie Sundae alone looks worth it! :teeth:

Your food porn pics were wonderful -- makes me hungry for lunch right now!

Yes, what's with that TV volume?? Everytime we turned it on it felt like we all jumped from the shock

yeah for Alek knowing his Muppets! I never got into them but do enjoy the show.

TSM, RnR and ToT -- my favorites!!:cool1:

CSR is really cool looking that early in the morning, but I'm perfectly happy to enjoy it in pictures only. I'm sorry to hear sleeping was difficult this trip.

I have always wondered, hypothetically, if I ever made it to rope drop whether it's better to ride first and Fast Pass second or the other way around. It seemed to work out pretty well for you all, so maybe that will be my plan, not that we'll ever make rope drop. :rotfl:

Great thought to set your adr's for opening! Both times we have eaten at 50's we had to wait a while.

I always try and do that. I figure you probably get the best service that way. You get seated right away, the food is fresh, the kitchen staff are just starting for the day so they are not tired and annoyed so better chance your food is cooked well and not just thrown together, the wait staff hasn't had a chance yet to get annoyed by annoying guests so they are nice and friendly. :thumbsup2

This IS Alek and Erich we're talking about isn't it??? :confused3 I mean because we already know Lessa has already gone too far off the deep end!!! :rolleyes1

 What are you implying? Everybody knows I am an angel. People who have known me for years are always shocked when I swear or say something not considered proper and ladylike. :littleangel: :snooty:

Well. thank you Rosie, I had to get in a bit of exercise for the day, as for the Bros, I have been sworn to secrecy.

Not sworn to secrecy but you can't give away what happened, nobody would read in that case!

enjoyed the rest of the updates, and i am all caught up now...so you may continue.
:thumbsup2

keep it family friendly marv...

:rolleyes1:laughing:

Nice to know I have your permission to continue. ;)

:rotfl: Well I guess it is good that they have the baby drop sequences in there for those who are coerced onto the ride by their family members. ;)

That bites, a bad server can ruin the entire meal.

The Brownie Sundae was delicious! The portion size was large as well, perfect for sharing. :thumbsup2

Yeah, the tv volume was crazy, I always worried that we woke our neighbours up with it, if the tv didn't work I am sure all our early morning poor sleep induced grouching at each other worked the trick. ;) I apologize if any of you reading this were our neighbours during the trip. :sad2:

I remember watching the Muppets on occasion, mostly I watched Muppet Babies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlG-Xocz8KE

Alek and Erich are bigger muppet fans than I am.

The sleeping situation was no fun but I have learned my lesson and will now pack ear plugs or we will have to get suites so we can spread out and hopefully be less disrupted. We must snore more as we get older as it was never an issue in the past. :confused3 At least I know I will sleep well when we visit our Dad this summer since I get my own room, Alek and Erich have to share.

You never know, you may make rope drop one of these days once the boys are older. :thumbsup2

May 12th continued

After having stuffed ourselves with a delicious lunch it was once again time to have some fun in the park! The one thing Mom always wants to go on is the Backlot Tour, we allow it to amuse her. ;) We slowly made our way to the back of the park via the Streets of America.

It was steaming hot by this point so it was nice to see that they had something refreshing set-up to help us cool down.

A great way to get some relief without becoming completely soaked although I am sure that some determined children could get the job done.

Before we made it to the Backlot Tour we came upon an area we had never explored before. That's right, we went in and played in the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Playground. Yep, a bunch of twenty-somethings and their mother spent their vacation in a children's playground.

Mom found a nice comfy place to sit and wait for us although she was worried the whole time that Alek and Erich would do something that would get us kicked out of the park. She has no faith!

After Alek and Erich had their fun we were off to the Backlot Tour, we made it just in time for the next show. I had read on the Dis that they were no longer taking volunteers for the show, I guess that report was wrong as they had a bunch that day. They all seemed rather lost and not sure of what to do, none of them were as funny as Alek and Erich were during their big break in show business back in 2008. If you didn't read the report from that trip here is their acting debut: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFTP8XdUogs

The person in the communications room did not seem too pleased when they found out that they were going to be repeatedly hit by a wall of water.

The trolley ride around the "backlot" was the same as usual although the bone cage seems to be getting more beat-up each year.

After that "thrilling" experience we had a decision to make. Lights, Motors, Action would be starting in 30 minutes or so, Alek and Erich had never seen it. Our fast passes for Toy Story were also going to be available for use soon. Mom and I did not particularly care for the show but we were willing to see it again if the boys were interested, they weren't. Well that was an easy decision, off to Toy Story!

Alek and Erich stopped briefly and were scandalized by this topless Mermaid statue in a Disney park. They took a picture to prove how Disney is not so family friendly after all.

IMG_2326.jpg

At the fastpass entrance Alek was given the very important job of carrying the time card. This is a most important duty that he took very seriously although I am not sure why they would have somebody in the fastpass line carry it and not somebody in the stand-by line.

IMG_0747.jpg

Despite our fast passes we ended up waiting about twenty minutes which is not that bad but seemed like a long wait at the time, at least the line is air conditioned!

IMG_0751.jpg

This time around our guns were working although I still had a disappointing score. I couldn't believe that Mom was doing so much better than me!

IMG_0752.jpg

After the ride we once again huddled and came up with a plan. It was super hot and we all wanted to go hang out in the pool but there were still a few more things we (mostly I) wanted to do. We came up with the following plan: go see the 2pm show of Beauty and the Beast, then the Little Mermaid, then Animation Academy, after that we would head back to the hotel for an afternoon swim and return in the evening for Fantasmic. Let's see if things go according to plan....

It was already past 1pm so we knew that we had to make our way over to Beauty and the Beast. I made the family stop for our first set of photopass pictures.

I'm not sure why I was lagging behind the others, probably messing around with my bag, but when I caught up to them Mom was trying to coerce the boys into pole dancing for Rosie.

Alek was very confused as to why Mom wanted them to behave in such a scandalous manner.

IMG_0754.jpg

Since the mermaid statue they saw earlier proved that Disney is not so family friendly after all they gave into Mom's request.

Here was his attempt:

Erich's first attempt

IMG_7715.jpg

Alek decided that those who can't do teach so he took on the job of being Erich's "coach"

IMG_7717.jpg

Mom was satisfied that the boys had received their proper work out for the day because you know according to her pole dancing is a widely accepted and popular form of exercise for the whole family, nothing erotic about it...

Would we get kicked out of the park for our lewd behaviour or would we be allowed to continue on to the show? Stay tuned to find out!

That's awesome that you guys played on the HISTK playground - and what's more awesome ... your mom was worried you'd end up getting kicked out. :lmao::rotfl2:

I confess, I laughed like crazy watching the video! Our show was pretty decent, but not really funny ... the only time I laughed during our show this year was the "Now look dry" comment - the guy posed with a big, silly grin.

They must have recently moved it when we rode ... it looks like it was in the same place as last year by your photo, but when we rode (I think it was the following week), it was moved and you had to look over the weeds to see it. It's by far, my favorite prop from childhood.

That's weird to time the FP line. We had to do that once. And 20 minute wait for FP line? :scared1: Sounds kinda long .. but yes, it is good that its A/C!

Totally love your PP pictures! And the pole dancing. Thanks for the laugh today. :lmao:

Well ... hope you didn't get kicked out! But ... guess I'll have to wait and see.

:rotfl: Very silly of her, we know the limits although I did have to encourage Alek and Erich to move on from the ant when some kids came by and wanted to climb onto it as well. :rolleyes1

I wish that Alek and Erich had been able to do it again, would have been interesting to see what they would do for a repeat performance.

I loved the movie as well, Disney needs to release it on DVD, I just did a search for it and it is all up on YouTube so I guess I can watch it there although I would rather pay Disney for a DVD copy! ;)

Yep, it was pretty long for fastpass, the queue area was packed!

Great updates. After seeing your review (and Lidian's too!), I'm so glad we switched from Mama Melrose to 50's Prime Time. Your pictures have me very excited.

Love the "pole" pictures...too funny. Rosie should be proud yet again of another pole "lover."

OMG I have a new favorite Bros pix !!!:rotfl2:The Pole Dancing ones are hysterical !!I am afraid if I attempted that last pose I might rupter something vital:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Beth I so agree Pole Dancing is a great form of excercise and it has become more and more popular I even hear it is to be an Olympic event ;)

Somehow sitting on a Pig's Lap has not caught on as much:rotfl2::rotfl2:

How funny that you guys (with no children) made it to HISTK, but we (with a toddler) never managed to get there. It was on our list, but someone (me!) was far too obsessed with getting on a Star Tours soft opening to waste time in a playground. I am such a mean mommy! :rotfl:

The Pole dancing pics are hilarious. I can only imagine what the people walking by were thinking! I'm sure it was something like "Those young men are real role models, fitting in time for exercise during a busy park day" :rotfl2:

Love it!!! Playing on the playground -- that's something we'd do, too. :rotfl2:

Absolutely love the brothers pole dancing. :lmao:
