120/1000

2/1 - 58 min walking plus 12 stretching
2/2 - 45 min walking plus 5 stretching

Feb is already looking better than January for me!!!

MrsAR - congrats on another half. That was just a month after your previous, huh? Wow...good for you! :thumbsup2

Rose - no commitments on the planks, but you're inspiring me to do them occasionally, so I'm getting there.... What shoes did you get? I switched from Nike Pegasus to the Brooks (Ghost, I think?). I might have stuck with the Nike but the last pair was a tad small, my feet were swelling and rubbing at the longer distances, and I wanted to try something different. Not sure I have a clear preference.

Figment - I'm so jealous - both Tink and the Princess this year! How fun :)

I wore ghosts for a long time. But a couple of years ago I switched to midfoot striking to get off of my heals and hopefully cut back on some of my recurring injuries, specifically itbs. I have been experimenting, but finally settled on Altra's. For the past six months I have been running in the Altra Intuitions (and been very happy with them). I am now going to try the Altra Torins because they are 0 drop with more cushion. My two recurring issues are chronic piriformis and chronic low calf soreness and I am hoping the extra cushioning helps with the calf issues. :) Worst case scenario, I will go back to the Intuition.

Oh don't be jealous. It's wearing me out in ways I did not expect. I'm looking forward to some short distances this spring and summer!

Thanks for all the good wishes. The full 3 weeks ago took a little more out of me than I realized when I was running today. I've got to pay better attention to my diet the days preceding the GSC if I'm going to get through it and enjoy my mini Disney vacation with family.

Please put me down for 350 minutes. Yeah I know oddly specific. But that's the minimum I need to get to make sure I'm on track for the 10k at the end of the month. This is all running here so were not talking a light workout. I technically have 2 more runs that I should get in before the 10k but since once is when I'm traveling and my trainer sometimes tells me to leave out when I travel. And another is a 2 miler slow walk that I can never predict how long will take. I am not exactly including them into it (I actually included 5 extra minutes in because I do know I will at least get 5 minutes of walking during that run).

Also is it too much to include the run I did yesterday since that was in February? Because if it isn't then my goal 390 minutes instead of 350. And I've got 43 minutes logged.

And before anyone asks why not higher for my minutes? Rest days. I've got recuperate somewhere or else I'm going to injure something. And when I'm pushing for a PR at the 10k (a full :30 second per mile faster than pace than what I've been training at the past few months so I'm upping my game here). I need my days off. I have a trainer, I heed his advice. Plus its not like I'm completely stationary on my off days. I like to walk around my room for a good 20-30 minutes at a time usually 2-3 times a day listening to my music. Not a heavy workout so I'm not counting it in my exercise goal.

You might be able to back off on your runs a little bit between now and GSC and still do fine after having trained and completed a marathon. Especially if you are feeling fatigued after yesterday's race. I did the WDW marathon last year, and in April ran a respectable half (2:25ish) without a ton of running. I think my longest before the half was 9 miles. I was working out regularly, just had really cut back on my runs because of a bad bout of piriformis syndrome. Anyhow, just throwing that out there. I hope the GSC goes splendidly! :)

StarGirl11--I put you down for 390. :)

I would like to join please. I am striving for 600 min for Feb. I really need to get in at least 30 min / 5 days a week.

250/1000

I'm hitting it hard early because we have a cruise mid-month and I'm sure it will all go to heck then...
