We didn't get in for tea or brunch either and I was on there the second I could get on. We got dinner, but not til 9 pm on Tuesday (which should make for some crabby campers in Oceaneer Lab since my kids usually go to bed at 8!). Anyone else in Palo at that time???

This is going to be tough... Martinis and margaritas are my 2 favorite drinks... I'm not sure that I can decide which to give up. Might just have to do both. Have the lampshade ready!!!

Hi!

Worked today for most of the day...still trying to get over some kind of creeping crud that I seemed to have picked up last weekend. I am planning on being 100% by Feb 7......

We are having dinner at Palo on the first night at 8:30. That was the only time we could get in. I am willing to take what I can get.

I have not started to pack at all yet. Of course, my vacation doesn't start till 2/7 so I have some time. It also helps that we throw our stuff in the car and just drive over to the port. We did live this in Sept when we took a cruisetour to Alaska. Packing was interesting to say the least.

Time to make some dinner.....

Jill

we did get dinner, we got 6:30 friday night, not bad but best believe i will be first in line on saturday(or at least attempting to be) to get on a wait list for the tea or brunch!!

I'll be right there with you!!! I'm not too big on the tea, but I REALLY want to go to brunch. I keep drooling over pics of all the tables-- especially those desserts :)

Good evening everyone!

We just got back from the Tux place. OMG! The rental began above $200 and that wasn't including the vest, shoes, etc... and also didn't include the cost of DS's tux. It is far more economical to rent from the ship assuming they still have enough rentals.

Palo ressies, we lucked out and almost last minute got tea and brunch at sea days. I was so happy. We did score 8:30 dinner at Palo's but when I checked the navigator after the fact it turns out is pirate party night so we very likely will cancel. When we signed up for Palo's dinner we actually had many dinner choices and my husband said Tuesday so Tuesday it was. I will post immediatley if we are cancelling so one of you can take it if you want. I'd even be willing to keep it under our name and give it to you onboard to insure you get it if that is at all possible.

******************************

Monica, I'd love to see pics if you have them. I'm very happy everything went so well!

******************************

Anymore favorite songs to lift the spirts, make you dance, sing loudly or stir up fun memories? So far I've seen Gwen Stefani's "The sweet escape", "When she loved me" from Toy Story 2 and "That's How you Know" from Enchanted, one of my many favorites is Bon Jovi's "Who says you can't go home"

*******************************

We are having snow showers again, ugh! Hopefully we won't get any accumulation tonight. My hubby is having an affair with the snowblower. I haven't seen him most days or nights because he is outside getting rid of our snow piles. We need extra cash so we can pay someone to plow our driveway just so that the family can see their dad again.

Back to school tomorrow for the little ones so it is time for our nightime rituals. Night night everyone!

Michelle, If you get only a choice between tea and brunch, I would give up the tea, do brunch. I've done the tea and dinner, I'm not into what I call fufu food and I do not like sea food either, so Palos not really for me(Service was over the top), but I did like the dinner. Tea, well that was not so good. I haven't had the brunch yet and would like to do it, but DD doesn't want to, so I would not go alone to eat anywhere, I do not feel comfortable, I'm um not confident enough to sit alone, I would feel like I'm in a fish bowl, ya know.

We have tea at 3 on Monday... Does that mean I'll miss out on a tasting? Screw the tea then. LOL .......

Let see you could go to the margarita tasting at 2 and get a good buzz, then go to the tea have a few scone and a pot of tasty tea to sober you up some, then head back for the martinis at 4. Hum sounds like a plan.
:upsidedow

Speaking of Palo. Sue, do we have a list of when everyone will be eating there? ROFL Maybe some of our times overlap.

Sorry, the List Queen has failed. I don't know anyone has really talked about when their Palos reservation were much until now, other that did anyone get ressie.

DD is not interested in going this time, so we are not making it there.

If you all want a list I can create one or a list put in link in my siggie for who ever my create one. :) I think in am getting listed out, and maybe you all are also.

I know once I'm on the ship, I'll most likely be seen at the Adult pool area right along with JJCJFL(Jill and Bob) Having a drink of the day or a good cup of moca expresso :coffee: . Not the other stuff they serve. I'm thinking I might bring my own version of Starbucks coffee concoction I make at home.

A Venta Hazel Nut flavored coffee, with a 1/4 cup of Hazelnut flavor creamer. Cost like .50 compaired to 4.20 at Starbucks and I like it better. It's almost like having a milk shake. Hmm good. And I'm not really a coffee drinker, plain black coffee ech, but I sure do like that.

Early morning at Quiet Cove coffee and a chocolate mini croissant. Oh, I can't wait, I'm getting more excited than ever, I'm not sure 7 nights is going to be long enough. I can dream of when I retire and can be like Jill and Bob and say I have 40/50 sailings(although I think they are still working), I would love that, but I don't think thats going to happen, I work for a local government, so my wages won't allow that. Thats a whole nother subject...

Dee, mke sure you shop around. Got mine with 2 shirts, 2 vests and shoes for 125 in Vernon.

Boo Hoo! No Palo's for me :sad1: I booked this cruise on December 15th. The last day to get bounceback. So there was no availability for anything at Palo's! Gonna go do the Birthday Grovel and hope to get in at least once for dinner. Brunch and Tea don't call my attention.

As for Master lists, Ya'll can add me to Birthday bash. Not sure yet about Martini... depends on times of day.

Dee, do you have a store called K&G men's wear in CT.? Here on Long Island, I was able to BUY tuxedo's for DS and DH and under 160.00 each. I figured the investment was worth it. We had a Black Tie Wedding in June... and now formal night;) "Mama Bear" is still trying to figure out what to wear:scared:
Like Sue Says... I got the Pooh factor going on:rotfl2:

Kathy, I just googled the store and yes we do have two stores in CT. Not exactly close by but it may be worth the drive. My very handsome DS is only 6 so I'll probably still rent his tux but if we could by my DH's at about the same price as renting it seems like a no brainer and trust me...lately I question if I have a brain :rotfl:

BTW...I, too, have the pooh factor goin' on. All hail the great Pooh!pooh: My DH says that at least I'll never get lost in the sheets and he has something to hug :)

Good evening fellow cruisers, I've been busy today and I couldn't wait to get back to the computer to see what everyone was up to. DD had a figure skating competition, she took 2nd place, woohoo!

Ok, so today I read somewhere about someone calling dcl for an upgrade and they also got a refund on the fuel surcharge that they paid for when booking their cruise. Does anyone know anything about this? They were getting it back as onboard credit. I'm calling in the AM, we paid $175 dollars which I will put to very good use if thats the case. Could pay for an excursion or two, or bingo, or martini tasting, etc. crossing my fingers.

No I still haven't packed, ugh....I need about 6 more hours in every day. I guess the first step is to find all the suitcases. Maybe, hopefully, if all goes well and there are no more school cancelations, I'll get to that tomorrow.

Have a good night everybody!

Just found this.....I think if you paid for a fuel surcharge then you should call for the credit just to be sure. I found this on another thread.

"I made my DH call DCL to find out what it was... apparently they don't charge this anymore, so passengers who did pay it at reservation will be rcving an onboard credit for that amount! We are on a 3 day, and it'll be $48! Yeah for credits, although technically we paid for it, and they are just refunding it, still feels like free money to me!"

so something else to look forward to!

How wonderful on taking 2nd!! Please send our congrats to your DD!!!!:cheer2:
BTW - I just admitted to Kathy that I haven't begun packing either. You are not alone :wave2:

Dee thanks, she was very excited! I know as soon as I start pulling out summer stuff then I'll want to go shopping, so the longer I wait the less I'll shop, at least thats what Im trying to tell myself.

Here's another message I found with the fuel thing. I meant to show this one first but I couldn't find it.

I called today to get my $50 Disney Rewards visa credit, and DCL also mentioned that I would be receiving a Fuel Supplement Credit as well. Anyone know what this is or how much! I love a free credit, so I'll take it, just wondering what it is and how much.

I asked my DH if he saw a credit on our credit card for the fule surcharge but I think he forgot to look. I'd be happy with an onboard credit or a credit on my charge card. Any money coming in is always better than going out!!

disraders i know you want a break BUT i will be , training my DH every single morning if you want to join us, i promise you will feel it but i wont overdo it......hehe
hyper:

I might have to take you up on that. What time? We are planning on the "Rest" week (low intensity) for the cruise but that has yoga twice. Yoga kills me in P90X. I’m in the Army so I have to constantly watch my weight. I have the "Semi-Annual Run for the Mortgage" coming up in April and I won't have the 130 degree Iraqi heat to melt the fat off.

Thanks for the invite

i was waiting to get on board to see all the of the times to figure out training times since the DD's have to be in the oceaneers and i am training DH as well.......with that said, chances are most likely the days at ports will be early or late depending and the days at sea will be after breakfast to fuel up since we have early seating. i dont even know what time the fitness club opens!! i used to be an AVID yoga practicer but i have switched to hitting the weights hard for a more streamlined body. i can run sprints with you too if you really want a butt kicking for the run coming up! LOL i am not a runner but i am indeed an avid sprinter (builds muscle where running deteriorates it)......

we will meet on board and talk about it and i can always lv msgs to tell you what time me and the DH are training and you can always join or not, totally up to you! i just figured with all the amazing food around us, i need to be kicking some major tush in that gym!
