February 25th Magic Cruise Board

Hi guys! We had such a wonderful time on the Eastern last week! We had only one day of rain. Of course, it was at Castaway Cay. Although, within an hour of them letting people off the boat the skies cleared up and it was the most beautiful day every! So, the whole trip was awesome!

The bad news is that we won't be joining you now. We found out the Mexican Riviera cruise at the same time is 1/2 the price of this one with the kids sail free promotion. So, we booked that instead. It saved us over $2,000 and got us a better room! I'm hesitant of going since we'll miss Castaway Cay, but I'm going to give it a try.

Anyways, if anyone has any questions about our trip last week let me know!

Well, this is Thanksgiving weekend in Canada and we have a long weekend of food, family and friends. Turkey and ham are the mainstay in our house and we are looking forward to that turkey euphoria that comes about 1/2 hour after dinner! LOL! Have a great weekend and for all the Canadians-HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Gobble, Gobble!

We are on day 2 of Thanksgiving travels to visit family. We spent a wonderful day yesterday at the local ski hill where they opened up the lift for 'Fall Colours' hike on the ski trails. Today we are starting the first of 2days of family visitation around the province for the turkey dinners ... Yeah turkey euphoria! Travel is tiring but the clean-up is easier

I have been looking and excursions and beach recommendations from previous trip reports. Does anyone have plans in place for the various ports? I think we would like to spend those days on a beach but it would be nice if the kids had friends to play with on the beach as well!

We're looking at the following excursions:

St Thomas - snorkel and sail to Turtle cove and then afternoon at Honeymoon beach

St. Maarten - possible beach rendezvous at orient bay.

DS will turn 7 last day of cruise and most excursions for snorkeling start at 7 and up. The one in St. Thomas starts at 6.

Let me know if you do decide. I think i'm sticking with Disney excursions just to avoid any hassle with missing the boats!

Have you got room for another family in your group?

I spent about a half hour writing a whole post, my session timed-out and somehow when I went to log back in I lost the whole message. I am now too tired to start over, but I would love to "meet" some fellow cruisers. We just did the Western Caribbean and made some amazing friends, most of whom I found in advance on the meet thread.

We will definitely do the FE gift exchange! Looking forward to sharing the excitement of our upcoming adventure!

Hey all! Now is the perfect time for pirate costume shopping! I found a costume on Tuesday at the local Halloween store for 1/2 off for DS. There were lots of accessories available too, cutlasses, eye patches, and other goodies in case you don't want to go full blown pirate!

Less than 4 months!

Okay so i am reading from the beginning............
Did you come up with a name for the cruise yet???

normally we make a shirt with the cruise name on it, but i think this time it will just be a button on our shirts since its no kids this time.

We are looking into excursions...we are really wanting something similar to the Fury Catamaran in Cozumel. That was a blast.

As far as the FE, we did participate in one on our last cruise...it was really fun and some folks really got into it! I wouldn't mind coordinating it but I did learn a lesson from last time. There needs to be a cut off date earlier than we had. It seems like we would get exactly what we needed and then there would be additions and drops late in the game...

Have you all participated in one? What were your experiences?

I have participated in several, dont think we will do it this time.
BUT this is my $.02.
I always think there should not be a cutoff date, sometimes things happen last minute and cant be helped. People have to change cruises and many of our dissers really look forward to the FE exchange.....Just buy some extra things, if you happen to be creating something make a couple generic ones or purchase some candy bars last minute.

Haven't looked on here for a while. Can't believe that the trip is getting so close.

We have just had 2 weeks of school half term holidays so have been away for a few days to Butlins (a British holiday camp). Had a good time - plenty of things for DS to do, so we could relax. Also had a great fireworks display for Guy Fawkes night. School starts again tomorrow, so things go back to normal!

We are thinking of beach excursions as well. Thought would probably just do the Disney beach one on St Thomas and either a water taxi to the beach on St Maarten or otherwise hire a car and tour around ourselves (if DH feels like driving, which may be a good reason for not doing this!). DS is learning to swim and really enjoys the beach so it seems the most relaxing thing to do.
