9 days and counting til the cruise....so much to do, so little time (unlike you, Tabatha)!!! And we have LESS than 9 days because we fly out of Mpls. on the 22nd for 2 nights at Caribbean Beach before we board the DW for our first (ever) cruise!! I am worried about packing.....and will pack too much, I'm sure. It's so cold in Minnesota, and the wind keeps blowing all the time. Can't wait to see the sun and sand and blue, blue waters. This "Minnesota Mouse" is named Deb--husband Kevin and kids Andrew (almost 14) and Emily (11 1/2) are coming along with me. Time to start packing!!!

Last day of work was today! I am now officially on vacation until the 3rd of March wahooooooo:banana: !

Jump on that auto train next Wed and off to see the mouse!

I have finally started the packing venture and coming also from Minnesota it has been hard to figure out what will be needed and then trying to find and hoping they fit clothes for the kids.

Wondering if we need to fill out the paperwork that came in the folder if we have done all the online stuff?

If you've done all of the online stuff, all you should need to do is print out your cruise contract and sign it. :confused3

Good luck finding clothes for your kids. I like capris so I always bring at least a couple of pairs because they can be both warm and cool weather pants. Then a couple pairs of shorts. I've always layered my clothings (even before layering became popular) so I always pack variations of long and short sleeved clothings. I'd bring at least one light sweater/long sleeve shirt per person. If anything, the A/C in the ship might force you to wear something a little warmer.

I say, pack one outfit for the absolute "worst case scenario" and warmer clothes for everything else.

I passed up going away this weekend as I'm finishing packing for my conference next week and preparing for post-vacation events. We have a couple school wide events going on the week of March 3-7 once which is pivotal around my position. They need to be planned and people informed before next Friday. So, all my packing for the conference and this trip and all my other planning has to be done this weekend.

Of course there are like 5 movies I want to see out now, and I haven't made it to the gym in days and I'm behind on my readings, so guess what I don't want to do? :rolleyes1

I have one more day of work (monday) and I leave for WDW on Thursday. :woohoo: I have planned at least one thing to do everyday until then so I dont go crazy!! Tomorrow I am scrapbooking...

We are getting more snow and ice this weekend. I am so very tired of nothing but white. I agree with Deb and am so looking forward to seeing the blue ocean. ( The blue of the pools will be nice too!)

I am packing mostly shorts and capris also, with one nice dress for Palos and one skirt. :laundy:

Telemere, I envy you! I still have five more days to work, and I have meetings every single day...

Tabatha, if you're still out there looking for something to do, I have a suggestion  : how about putting up a list of everyone in our group? I started one on page 1, but more people have joined us since and the names are missing. What do you think?

In one week, we'll be off to Montreal to take the plane. I only hope it doesn't snow again! Right now, snow is in the long term forecast... :sad2:

Hey everyone! I haven't been on here in a while so I missed a lot of posts. LOL I've had this horrible toothache for a while. So I decided this past Monday that I've dealt with it long enough and had it pulled. Well, the healing process hasn't gone as well as I had hoped. It's Sunday now.. and I'm still swollen... and still in pain. And, the site is STILL BLEEDING! So, it looks like I am going to have to trek back to the dentists office tomorrow.

Then on Wednesday of this week, I caught a stomach virus. So, I haven't even eaten since Wednesday which isnt good since I'm a diabetic. LOL This morning I am starting to feel a little more human.

My daughter was complaining of her tummy hurting on Friday but by Saturday she was all better.

Glad to see that everyone is getting their docs. I got mine in the mail a few days ago. It just came in a brown envelope inside a Fed Ex envelope. I saw the picture of the suitcase and am just jealous. LOL

I'm pretty sure I've given all of our info before... but I'll give it again just in case. LOL I'm Lenora (37), my husband is Irvin (35), and our beautiful daughter is Katie (4, almost 5). Katie is pretty shy around adults but not even the slightest around other kids. It's so cute to see her look at another child and go "Come on kid, let's go play". LOL My husband is very quiet. He will talk a lot once he knows you, but at first he's pretty reserved. LOL Not me... heck no! I'm loud, boisterous, and love to laugh. The only time I'm shy is when I have my swimming suit on in front of people. LOL

On our last cruise I was sitting by the pool (in regular clothes) and heard these people talk about overweight people being in swimming suits.. and was so mortified that I never once put on my swimming suit the whole cruise. I wanted to go swimming, but being a 200 + pound lady... I didn't dare. LOL So, we'll see how this cruise goes. I'm packing the swimming suit just in case. :goodvibes

We are leaving on Friday (we're driving). We're going to stay the night in Pensacola on Friday and should get to Orlando on Saturday. Well, now that I'm back I should be able to post more. These last few days are going to drag on and on I know. LOL

Take care all!!!

Lenora

Hi all,

I didn't get to post yesterday because I was actually BUSY!!!!:yay:
My husband and I took to boys to see Spiderwick Chronicles. It was a pretty good movie. Kind of scary though. They had goblins and fairies that were not so nice. But the boys were GLUED to the screen. :happytv: I don't think Jagger moved once during the movie. He loved it. And then last night we had a dinner party that went pretty late into the night. :surfweb:

Stephanie, I think the post of all 24thers is a good idea. I will make a new post on the people that I have. If you are not listed and would like to be, let me kow. Also, If I ahve any information incorrect, please let me know so I can make changes. 7 days to go. :cool1:

(Tabatha, will you please correct my DIS name, it's missing an L. Thanks!)

hey all! still no docs here. Going to email my TA to make sure they've been sent. I won't have time to stop at my place between leaving work and going to the airport tomorrow, so I need to make sure everything is taken care of before then!

Hi Everyone. My name is Shannon (38), Husband-JR (36), daughter -Mallory (2 1/2) going on 20!!! I started this thread and have been so busy I have not had time to get back on. Tommorrow is my last day of work and I am actually stressed because I am so far behind. My husband refuses to fly so we are driving 14 hrs. we live in Arkansas. which means we never get snow. I am actually jealous of all the snow some of you are getting. which I guess would get old. we are going to WDW for a few days first. this is our first trip. I really hope it does not rain everyday.
Can not wait to meet eveyone.

Don't worry mommyof1: when it rains, it doesn't last long usually. :sunny:

Hi!
I am Cara and I live in South Florida. We also have a house in Celebration near Disney :-) I moved here from Baltimore (and grew up in NY/NJ and Dallas)...

This will be our FIRST Disney - or any other - cruise, and we just booked it a few weeks ago.

I have 2 daughters - one is 6 and one is 4 1/2

I am traveling with my Mom and a friend - my husband will not set foot on a ship!

We will be at the Atlantis on the Nassau day otherwise playing it by ear...found out 2 other families in my daughter's class at school will be on this cruise too!....Hope to meet everyone!

OK, I have just read ALL 15 pages! Acck! LOL...it was actually fun and got me more excited!!!!

Mommyto1 - or is it mommyof1? My brain is fried after 15 pages! hehe - the Atlantis is well WORTH it! I have been several times to Nassau, being that we are only a 30 min. flight from it, and the Natural Aquarium is 2nd to none, the beaches wonderful, there is a movie theater, great food, paddle boats, river rapid rides on inner tubes (our FAV!!!) water slides, lazy river ride, and so many pools and water park junglegyms, shark feedings, - so much to do! My husband is actually flying in to meet us for the day in Nassau...

The Nassau dolphin encounter is great as well, we did it last year...they filmed FLIPPER the movie there....my girls loved it...

Tabatha - you remind me of my friends here! LOL...Can't wait to meet everyone! My girls are named Gia (6) and Bella (4 1/2) if you can add us to the list, we are also traveling with my Mom Carolyn, and my sitter/helper/friend Michelle who is 21...I just turned the big 4-0!...Thanks!

Cara

Ok, I have packed my suitcase twice now. I am sure I am packing too much, but dont know what to leave out.

I called my credit cards and told them we would be out of the country. Both were very friendly...thought I was talking to Disney :)

Lenora, I am 200+ and am wearing my swimsuit and wearing shorts:thumbsup2

Tabatha, thanks for much for the list. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Stephanie, you have also encouraged me here:goodvibes

I am just scared to death that I am going to forget something REALLY important and it will ruin our trip. :scared1: Going to recheck that suitcase...

Hi Cara,

Where do you live in Boca? I used to live on Yamato and Jeffery. When I was 21. LOVED it there. I still have many friends that live there. :lovestruc

5 DAYS!!!!! :cool1:

Tabatha
I am across from Boca Town Center Mall near Glades/Jog....

I used to come here on vacation when I was 21! hehe,,back in the DAY!!!

Do you get to the city often in NY? We are in NY at least once a year, I am originally from Manhattan...my children LOVE going to NYC and seeing my Dad, and aunts, uncles, cousins and of course, American Girl place and doing the carriage rides....

I am so excited for this cruise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been packed for 2 weeks!!!!!

Cara
