February 24, 2008

Hi all,
well it is over now!! As most of you know, I didnt feel well on the first day. I just wanted to say thanks b/c everytime I saw one of you, you asked how I was feeling. So thanks. Alot of Disney Magic.

Just to let you know, I met Telemere. Boy was he an a$$ as well as his wife. When I went to the Pirate party, I noticed him (I mean gosh, how can you miss a man in FULL pirate gear). So I went you and said hello to his wife and told her I was a DIS friend. She rolled her eyes and told her husband "she is from the DIS'". He said how did she reconzie me. Hello MORON, You posted a HUGE picture of youself in that SILLY costume. How could I not. Then he says to me" are you the one mad at me?" Mad at you, I don't even know you. What the hell would I be mad at you for. He said that someone got mad at him and had him banned from the DIS. Something he must have done to himself. What an A$$. his wifey too. If you didnt get a chance to meet him, just to let you know, you missed NOTHING!!!!:lmao:

It was a pleasure meeting all of you. (Except him of course)

Hey everybody,
We made it back to Minnesota and were welcomed by sleet and snow, and a terrible drive back to SW Minnesota from the Twin Cities. It took forever....accidents and traffic backed up all over the place. I, too, feel like I am still on the boat. But I am back at work, the kids are back at school, and Kevin is trying to catch up on messages. Reality isn't all it's cracked up to be!!! Great to meet all of you. We had a totally amazing trip and would love to do it again sometime. Take care!! Deb

Hi everyone!

We are back in the cold as well :cold: ...

It was really nice to meet everyone (I didn't see Telemere, so I can't say anything about him). Beth, how is your cold? Lenora, did you win the Jackpot at Bingo? I'm glad to read you're ok Tabatha. I thought about you on the last night. Boy, was it rough! I couldn't even walk around the stateroom to finish packing. I was sitting on the bed, telling DBF where to put everything. :faint: Cara, I wish I had read your post about the weather on Thursday. We did have warmer clothes but in our suitcases! We planned on going to Typhoon Lagoon, but went to Magic Kingdom instead.

I want to read more about your excursions, your waiters,... Did anyone rebook on board? We booked a Western for December 2009, but we'll switch to 2010 when it's available.

I'm going to bed. It's back to reality and skating lessons tomorrow morning!

Hey there everyone! Hope you all are doing ok. Nope I didn't win the jackpot. :( Hubby needed the number on the monitor. Man that would have been nice to win.

I guess I must have smelled or something because people were ditching me right and left. LOL At Castaway Cay this lady and her daughter asked if they could sit next to us. Then she started talking politics asking who I was voting for, who she thought should win... etc etc etc. Anyways, we all walked to the bathroom together and then was supposed to all go together to eat lunch but once Katie and I got in a stall at the bathroom, her and her daughter took off on us. LOL

Our daughter really took to our table mates for dinner so she wanted to do something for them and colored them a picture. They had come to our room after breakfast on the sea day so that I could give one of them a patch. I told them that Katie had something for them and they said that they would definitely be there for dinner. Nope, they didn't show. So I thought that they were just really sick and would definitely see them at breakfast the next morning. Nope, they didn't show for that either. It was heartbreaking to hear "Mommy they didn't want my picture?"

Our trip overall was awesome. Much better than Carnival. We had a few issues with Katie, though. She had a low blood sugar attack on Pirate Night. That was so scary trying to force sugar into her. Our server, assistant server, and head server were all there at the table. I know they were really concerned and I soooooo appreciate that... but they kinda bothered me too. Every oh I would say 30 seconds (no exaggerating) one of them asked me if I wanted to take her down to the doctor. I kept saying to them, "I'm trying to give her sugar first. If it doesn't work THEN I'll take her." I just really wanted them to give me some space to take care of my own daughter.

I got her sugar level to come back up and we went to the Pirate Party all dressed. She still wasn't feeling 100% so we went back to the room. Then the next morning at breakfast, we had another incident. Minnie Mouse had gone all around the room but didn't come to our table. So our waiter tried to go get Minnie Mouse to come over. The escort told him that they didn't really have time so we would have to come over there. We walked over there and then the escort looked at me and said "No, we are leaving". Katie ran to Minnie and hugged her quickly. And the escort said "Fine, one small hug only". Katie was so hurt and walked back to the table deflated with her head down. I was trying to comfort her and asked her to look at me. She turned around and her foot caught on the carpet and she went flying into the wall (HARD). She hit the back of her head pretty bad, so here everyone comes again with the doctor, doctor, doctor thing. It actually reminded me of the birds on Finding Nemo. You know "Mine Mine Mine Mine Mine". LOL

Then the last night... with the rough seas... my poor precious one got seasick. She was crying and crying that her tummy hurt. She wouldn't eat a thing. She felt better the next morning so that was good. And man did she eat like a horse for breakfast.

Well, the next part is PURELY my fault. I never in a million years would have thought it would be cold in Florida. So of course I didn't pack a thing warm. I know, terrible mother. So when we left the terminal it was freezing and all she had on was shorts and a short sleeve shirt. I tried to keep her as warm as I could though... but.... guess what??? Yep, she is sick now. She's been running fever and not eating much. She keeps complaining that her throat hurts. So, when we get home I'm taking her to the doctor.

Well, I've wrote a book so far so I'll stop this one. We are about to head out of here and on the road for home. When I get home I'll write more about our whole experience. It was sooooo nice to see everyone. Tabatha, I'm so glad you got to feeling better. (BTW, I'm so glad I didn't run into the horse's butt). LOL Here's a stupid question... if you are going to be a jerk and don't really want anyone to acknowledge you... why even get on this board... much less put a huge picture of yourself on it?? LOL

Anyways, take care all and talk to you soon.

Hello!
Wow, Lenora, I am so sorry all of that happened to you....My girls would have LOVED a pic from Katie!

We had a wonderful trip - the only thing I would never do again is be in the room OVER the theater...we heard almost every word in our stateroom of the later show - LOL.....And my girls did NOT like the kids club...they were bored every time, and only made it through 1 activity - making flubber. Other times the club mostly had movies or cartoons on and my girls did not want to watch tv...

I must say, we got pics with Jack Sparrow and he was a cutie! hehe

The first night we had pics taken with almost every character...we hardly ever waited on line and just kept bumping into them, we were at Shutters and out walked Cap'n Hook, so we got a quick pic before he walked out, and then came Alice in Wonderland, got her too - mostly it was luck and being in the right place accidently! We got so many the first night that all the other nights, it was like well, we already had 2-3 with Minnie etc. so no need to get more! There were so many opportunites for pics!

Our servers were wonderful! Johanna and Francisco...we moved up to the 545 dinner and on Nassau day we went to the Atlantis - my husband flew in to meet us there and it was wonderful...you could just walk right in if there was not a hotel guard at the door! But there were like 20 doors to get outside to the pool so it was easy to stroll out...you DID need a wristband to ride the rapids so we got those and the kids basically did the water things - slides/pool/rapids all day...we had done the Dolphin excursion last year and it was wonderful..at Blue Lagoon island.....we rushed back at 6pm and went right to dinner...Cataway Cay was incredible - my FAV part of the trip and my children did not do anything! They played in the sand or sat on the inner tube all day and loved every second of it! Pirate night was fun but we did not stay up until 945, my girls were asleep before 8pm every night, even if we TRIED to keep them up!

When it rained it kinda stunk so Bella saw 2 movies in the theater and Gia came to bingo and we all watched towel oragami....not really much to do in the rain...

The last night I KNEW we had to see a show so we arrived at dinner at 545 and our server KNEW we would need to rush out, so we had all appetizers and main courses asap and left at 615 and made the early show, it was wonderful! The rocking that night was not so great but no one got sick...my girls did not take anything the entire trip and were fine, my sitter put on the wristbands and was a tad woozy and my mom and I had Bonine which was great but I think knocked us out!

Anyone know what that 2nd medical emergency was????

Hi again all!

I'm back, too! No problem getting back, though I didn't get back until 9 PM at night. Spent yesterday running around to prepare for today (we're getting yet ANOTHER snow storm).

The cold is finally getting better. For the first morning in about 2 weeks I didn't wake up unable to breathe through my nose. I'm surprised they even let me on the ship. I LOVED my small little room. I had a CAT 12 and it was perfect for me, I don't know what I would have done with a bigger room, or a divided bathroom. I loved the single bathroom. I didn't really care for my room steward, I think I only met her once, and one of those times was when I had to go and ask her to give me more tissues as I was running out (and it was pretty dang obvious that I had a bad cold). She gave me a box and didn't even bother to put a new box in the tissue holder. Also, she didn't really do much for cleaning the bathroom which I didn't really like. Made me wonder how clean it was prior to me coming. Oh well. I'm really not as picky or as I make it seem.

The ship was amazing, definitely a notch up from Carnival. I didn't book another one as a) I loved it, but Disney's a bit out of my budget unless I find another really good deal and b) the account was already at $500. :headache: I still have one more cruise for this year planned without a set job for next year.

My server and assistant were the best! I was seated at a table for 10 with a family of 9. The family was awesome and very welcoming (it could have easily been a nightmare), the second night I arrived in the dining room before them and was like "where's my family?". Cesar (Kevin) from Brazil was the server, and he went out of his way to make sure that my food allergies were met. Bruno from India was terrific, he should have been a server instead of an assistant. He won everybody over the first night. He made hats and did tricks for all the kids at the table. The last night he was busy with other tables and we got a assistant in training and we were all complaining that we missed him. Truly one of the most amazing assistant servers ever!

I went to Atlantis and did the Aquadventure and had a lot of fun. Ended up hanging w/a single dad and his daughter, who I kept running into over the course of the cruise. I LOVED the lazy river, it has to be the best EVER! Not sure I'd do the water slides again, but I might go there to do the beach. The Dig was alright, but not the best aquarium I'm ever seen.

LOVED Castaway Cay. I'd go on Disney again just to do that! Parasailing was amazing, if a little bit scary. I snorkeled and LOVED it! I will definitely be doing snorkeling again on a future cruise. It was a perfect introduction as I knew there were no 'baddies' in the lagoon. I found Mickey and the reef with all the fish. AMAZING. Biked and ended up at Serenity bay, if I went again, I think I'd just find a hammock and sit in it all day and maybe snorkel again.

I'm not feeling as if I'm on the ship right now, but I think what helped was wearing the Sea Bands all day on the sea day (that was crazy). I found sooo much to do on the sea day it was crazy, I was doing like 1/2 of one thing and 10 minutes of another. I spent some time in the Rainforest room and went to the Palo brunch. One of the things I disliked about Carnival was the lack of activities on sea days (it was like they expected you to just sit around and sun yourself or use the casino, not exactly my cup of tea). Though I was a bit disappointed that I never got into the pool on the adult side.

All in all I LOVED it. I would go again on a Disney cruise in a heartbeat if the price was right. I'm going to have a hard time going back to Carnival. It was sooo great meeting your all!

I did run into Telemere, I happened to get a drink from a bar and he was sitting there, tried to hook me up with another guy who was sitting there. I passed and went to enjoy my drink. I also saw him at pirate night, he seemed to be enjoying himself, while his wife and daughter were sitting there looking bored. He recognized me from earlier though (when he had tried to set me up).

Hi everyone! I haven't written in a while...sorry I didn't come meet you all on the first day, we were off doing other things, the time went so fast! We too had a great time, except I did come down with a cold on the second day and felt like my head was in a cloud the second half of the cruise, so tired! Thankfully I didn't lose my taste until yesterday! That would be horrible being on a cruise and not being able to taste any of the food :scared1:
My son was a little scared of the kid's club at first b/c he doesn't like dark loud places...but he warmed up, the counselors were so nice! Our table mates didn't show up the third and fourth night for dinner or breakfast the last day, we thought maybe they were the medical emergency! but then we saw them on debarkation day in the terminal. what were the medical emergencies?:confused3 anyone know?
was telemere really that obnoxious? glad i didn't come across him...
my hubby went to the pirate party with his parents while my son and i slept...my son (he's 4) didn't want to go and he was SOOOO tired...I had already done it the last time so I just went to bed when he did. woke up when the fireworks went off though! our servers were great! - kecha and wowie...as well as our stateroom host...
this being our fourth DCL cruise, i must say i missed hercules! they added that little skit from toy story into the golden mickeys, that wasn't there before..probably getting ready for the toy story show...i don't know how that's going to be...i liked hercules so much b/c it was from back in the day when the disney characters used to sing songs in movies, now they don't and there's only a couple recognizable songs from toy story...i like the singing...boy, we were really rocking and rolling the last night, huh? I had to finish the packing as my husband was hacking up a lung, poor guy! :rotfl: all the while my son is oblivious to daddy, laying in bed watching a movie. all he said was he was afraid he would fall out of bed...
how was everyone else's cruise? :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

The first was a baby (not sure how old, still in mom's arms), I heard it was sick with the flu.

The second was an older gentleman. When they wheeled him off he was awake and aware of the things around him. So, hopefully nothing life threatening.

Hi all,

Finally getting settled in at home. So, I'll give you my trip report. First day as most of you know, I did not feel well. Being out in the sun on deck 9 was great but in the room NOT SO GREAT!!! The patch made me feel like I was looking through a fish bowl. I did not like that one bit. Staying on the upper decks in the sun really made me feel great. (having a few drinks helped also):lmao: So the first day was great. Loved it. I have to say, the food is below mediocre. Here in NY we own a fine Italian resturant, so we know good food. I think the food was tasteless, bland and not very appeling at all. Which i have to say, I didnt mind b/c I gained no weight on the cruise and did not have to work out once. hehehehehe Even Palo was no different than the rest. I only liked one thing and it was a apple, cranberry dessert with a biscuit on top. That was Yum-o. We got to see most of the characters, which my boys liked. except they didnot get to see Captian hook or max and goofy. Steven and I ran into max and goofy while the boys were in the club. I took a picture w/ them so at least they could have one. we didnt see any shows the first night. But saw Golden Mickeys (which was my favorite) and Dreams the last night. My boys and DH went to see National Treasure 2 on sea day and I went to bingo and met up with Cara and her girls. Although we didnt win, it was fun YEAH JAMIE~!!!! LOL

Nassau was uneventful but nice. We got off the ship and went to Atlantis. We didnt have any thing planned so we just walked around and as we were leaving ran into Cara and her family. Met her husband who turns out I met him through an old friend about 12 years ago. Talk about small world. Cara and I hit it off pretty well and kept up with each other through out the cruise. She invited us to stay with them at Atlantis (Thanks Cara) but we decided to head back to the ship. We put the boys in kids club and Dh and I went to the straw market. He hated it. LOL a bunch of women 3 feet apart selling the same crap and begging you to buy stuff. NOT HIS CUP OF TEA!!!! We got back, got the boys and went to Mickey pool. They LOVED that pool.

Our servers were Simonea and Rogeriero. They were really nice. I felt like they get upset if you dont come to dinner though. We are tipping them either way. But felt guilty for not showing up. We went 1st night w/ out the boys. 2nd night they came with us. Pirate night we ate at BBB. We went to Pirate party for a few minutes and in that time is where I met Telemere. YIPPEEE All I can say is WHAT AN A$$!!!! ANd the wifey too. Anyway, the boys were tired so we went back to the room for some sleep.

Castaway Cay was great. DH went parasailing. He did not feel safe. he said all that held him were 2 little hooks. He will never do that again. The boys and I headed to the beach where we wet Jack Sparrow. They liked that. we went to lay on the family beach where again we met up with Cara and the girls. The boys played in the sand and water while I layed on a nice chair and had a few cocktails. LOVELY DAY!!!! DH and i had cabana massages and we all went bike riding. The food at cookies was ok. we had a great day.

The last day kind of sucked. LOL the rain was horrible. They didnt have alot planned for us on the day. We felt like we were searchuing for thengs to do. We made race cars out of vegtables. That was fun.The boys saw the movie and I played bingo. The rocking of the ship was horrible. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. We finished dinner but didnt get to order dessert when Jagger said he didnt feel well. we immeditaly left and went back to our room. As soon as we got there someone knocked on the door. It was Simonea, our server, with a tray of desserts for us and the boys. NOw thats service. Jaxson is the one who ended up getting sick. Poor thing just sat on the floor with the trash can between his legs. We all got in bed and the ship rocked us to sleep.

Breakfast next moring we did at BBB and walked off the ship. Got our bags and was on our way by 9. All in all it was a great trip. I said I would not do it again due to the rough seas but now my mother wants to go on a cruise for her 60th birthday in JUne. Which will be a mother/ daughter vacation. Have any of you traveled on other cruise line? What did you think of them? I was thinking Royal Carribean. Let me know.

TTYS,

Tabatha

By the way, It was a pleasure meeting all of you.

Have any of you traveled on other cruise line? What did you think of them? I was thinking Royal Carribean. Let me know.

Mommy2katie and I have both done Carnival. May I recommend cruise critic? Just put the two words together and add a dot com. ;). The boards are excellent for all cruise lines, researching ports, and talking about EVERYTHING and ANYTHING cruise. The Disboards are better for DCL though. I primarily use CC to do research for all my other cruises.

Carnival and RCCL are just about on par in terms of service etc. Carnival is no longer the party ship and they're working hard to get away from that image. Many who have cruised on Carnival and RCCL say that the the experience is pretty much the same, although you still get many who have sailed RCCL saying that it's a "superior" experience. Carnival has the best food of all the mass market lines hands down (according to many who have sailed many lines). I much prefered Carnival's food to DCL. Except for the buffet the first day in Parrot Cay. But I loved Palo's food though. :confused3

I personally would love to sail RCCL but they charge 200% for a single and their prices overall are higher than CCL, especially when a lot of people tell me that the two companies are pretty much similar cruising experience. However, if I were to find the right price, or when my cruising buddy gets back to the states, I'll happily give them a try.

RCCL does have the adults only Solarium, which would be a bit like the adult only pool on DCL. They also have rock climbing, surf boarding and an ice skating rink, if you like those. However, if you go on a ship that has those, they are in the cruise fare, whether or not you chose to use them or not.

If you want an experience a notch above CCL and RCCL and a bit more like Disney, you may want to try Celebrity or Princess. They'll be similar in price to Disney, though.

What I'd do. Narrow down whether you want to do Eastern/Western/Southern Caribbean, and how many nights you'd want to go. From there, look at the itineraries and shore excursions offered (through the Ports of Call section on CC) and find which itinerary best matches your interest.

I will be doing an exotic Western in April (stops at Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Belize and Roatan, Honduras) on the CCL Legend. I specifically chose this one and Carnival because of this itinerary and wanting to hit as many ports as possible. I can't wait!!
Grand Cayman: stingray sandbar
Belize: Cave tubing
Roatan: zip line!
Cozumel: ????, but I love CZ so I'm not worried about finding something to do!

Also talk with a travel agent and they'll help you narrow down the lines and itineraries based on what you want.

Oh, BTW, if food is important to you, avoid NCL as they apparently have the "worst" food of all the cruise ships.

Thanks Beth,

Sounds like you know your cruise lines. Have you ever traveled in June? I know it is the beginning of Hurricane season and I am a little scared about being in the carribean then. Any tips or suggestions? Planning on going the week of the 25th.

TTYS,

I for sure want to do another cruise...I did not re-book on Disney on the ship because I never know if one of my girls will be in a show or have a cheer competition or recital or something really big that a parent cannot miss....A friend of ours on the ship from here booked for over Christmas since she knew we would all have off school..I just cannot think/book a year in advance...since I live near Miami I would probably book something out of a port here...I thank these boards so much for introducing me to all of you, you are all so knowledgable, and for me meeting Tabatha - we saw so much of each other, every day! We were always bumping into each other to the point of me saying to my mom, wow, I have not seen Tabatha in a few hours!!!! Then we ran into her for Bingo! haha...SHAKE 'EM JAMIE!!! LOL...Thanks for making my trip even more fun Tabatha!!! And Tabatha many ships leave out of my neck of the woods so maybe we can take our moms out together the night before your cruise if you are here! :-)

My stateroom guy was Jhe (Jay) and he was head of making the oragami towel animals as well, we loved loved loved him!

Question - that last night just about killed it for my Mom and I and I KNOW my DH will not get on a rocking ship (he would get off and fly home from the closest excursion!!!) so how "normal" is it to have either rough seas/bad weather or a rocking ship like that on a cruise? Fairly normal? Rare? Common? I would probably cruise any time of the year except deep hurricane season (June-September)

Thanks!
Cara

I too thank these boards for me meeting you Cara. I know we will remain in contact, as we have already been emailing each other a thousand times a day. It is so funny that every corner I turned, there you were. lol
We were meant to be friends. :yay:

I would like to know about the rocking of the boat as well. Is that a normal thing? Gosh I hope not or I will have to rethink ever taking a cruise again.

Cara and Tabatha, the last night was the most rough I had in three cruises. But you just never know how it's going to be... :confused3

Our server was Felipe (from Peru) and Niko (from Croatia)was our assistant. Felipe was the best server we ever had :thumbsup2 . Very understanding, no pressure, he even came to our stateroom to bring desserts when Isabelle had an earache and we had to leave early. He worked five years on the Magic before coming to the Wonder last year, so he kept asking us about his former colleagues. We had Bruno in Triton one morning. He seemed like a very good assistant server indeed! The only night we didn't have our server team was on the last night, when there was an opening for first seating. We had Erwin and Astrit but they didn't seem to care much for us. We were happy to be back with Felipe and Niko the last morning!

You know we got stuck with second seating. But I'm the first surprised to say we liked it. We all took a nap in the late afternoon and a snack afterwards (usually a small pizza slice from Pinocchio) and everyone was fine for dinner (except when Isabelle was sick of course ). I felt less rushed and was even hungry, so I enjoyed to meals more, I didn't feel like I was going from one meal to another. Which we found better than on our other cruises by the way. We are seriously thinking about asking for 2nd seating for our upcoming Western! Who would have known?

What did we do... on the first day, we were group 7 aboard, had lunch in Beach Blanket (met Beth on the way). Then we went to the pool (where I met Tabatha and Cara). We also went to the Club. After the meet, it was drill and sail away party :cool1: . My kids were disappointed that there were no bubbles anymore (they called the sail away party the bubbles party). Then it was nap time and dinner. Did anyone go to the show? We didn't. The kids left dinner early and went to the Club. DBF and I went to Promenade Lounge for a bit of the Oscars than picked up the kids. After they were in bed, I went back to watch the end of the Oscars.

On Nassau day, we ate breakfast in Triton. We went to the Pirate pirate: Museum in the morning. We found it perfect for the kids: not to long for them, just enough info to read for us. We came back to get a bite on deck 9, then it was time for our excursion to Ardastra Gardens and the city tour. It was okay. A good combo with kids. Then it was nap, show and dinner. I didn't like the performance very much as I thought the performers were shouting in the first three parts. The evening was short as Isabelle was not feeling well.

Castaway Cay was the best! We ate in our stateroom, then went over there after a visit to the health center because we were out of children's Tylenol. We left Mathieu and a grumpy Isabelle at Scuttle's Cove and went to Serenity Bay. :cloud9: We picked up the kids and ate lunch. After we watched Lilo and Stitch dance and played in the water and the sand. Then it was nap, show and dinner. We were all dressed up for Pirate Night. It was the first time we all went together, which was nice. I'll post pictures later this week. Does anyone have pictures of the helicopter? I would like to see them. After the kids went to bed I saw the second evacuation in Nassau (Beth was there also). I then went to deck 9 to watch the end of the first Pirates movie.

On the day at sea, we went to the Q&A with the officers, the kids ate on deck 9 and we had Palo brunch while the kids went to the Club. I loved the chocolate flan. We then attended the last minutes of the Castaway Club meet. Unfortunately, we didn't win anything :sad2: . After we picked up the kids and did a little shopping, I did the Galley tour (Beth was there also). I always like the behind the scenes activities. Our daily nap came to a quick end when our head server Simone (from Italy) called to tell us we could have early seating. Then it was the show and packing.

Then it was time to say See you real soon... :sad1:

I forgot to add that we really liked our cat. 11 stateroom. Better than the cat. 10 we had last time: it felt more spacious. That's what we chose for our next cruise. The only downside is that there is less storage. Our stateroom host was Herbert, but we almost never saw him.

All in all, except the fact that Isabelle was sick, this has been our best cruise yet!

Thanks Beth,

Sounds like you know your cruise lines. Have you ever traveled in June? I know it is the beginning of Hurricane season and I am a little scared about being in the carribean then. Any tips or suggestions? Planning on going the week of the 25th.

TTYS,

Tabatha-

I wouldn't worry so much about June personally. I'd worry more about August/September cruising. Granted I am a native New Englander, but I don't think the waters have warmed up enough in late June to really have anything big like a hurricane. But you know the weather forecasters, they can't leave out the possibility of an unusual year.

that is the worst we have experienced in four cruises... I guess it just depends on if you go through some bad weather. I have heard it is better to be midship to feel less of the rocking, forward is the worst apparantly...we have always gone the last week of october/early november for our anniversary and have not had bad weather. the only time i remember that was close to the rocking this time was when we went in 2000 and were on deck 2 in an inside, we were rocked to sleep. but it was nothing close to last week, we didn't know the rocking would affect my husband the way it did! it was bad! probably b/c he decided to get a HOT shower that night instead of in the morning so as to save us some time...so the combo of being hot and the rocking was not good...his father used one of those patches before we left on sunday, and he was fine. so i guess they work pretty well!
BTW, we really enjoyed our cabin...we had a cat. 7 navigator's verandah, starboard side...liked being able to go outside in the morning to see what it was like out there, have some sunlight, have our own "private" view of castaway cay, etc. when i booked, it was only $40 more than the cat. 8 deluxe inside, so something to check out...we always joke that everytime we go we get a better cabin, but somehow i don't think we will ever be in a suite! those prices:scared1: ! that's if my husband will ever let me go again! he can go a long time with no disney..me on the other hand, have to have my disney fix in some way at least every year! so i think a sister's weekend is in store next year! leave the kids and husband home  it's cheaper that way anyhow!:lmao: :rotfl2: :woohoo:

What a great trip, back to the cold and snow…...it was great seeing everyone.

We had a great time, sooo much to do every day, my only complaint is there was often too much to do ;), if that is a bad thing. And we did not go on any excursions either.

We got to port early, first bus and were the 3rd group to get in. Had lunch and checked out the ship. Finally made our way to the pool at which time our daughter fell in love with the slide and Mickey pool :lovestruc . We were there every day, except for CC day. We skipped the show that night because we figured the kids might not like it that much and we had a reservation for Palo. Great food and service.

Next day we did not go ashore, we had already been to Nassau a number of times. We had spa appointments and out kids were in flounders and the kid club. Our older daughter liked the club, but not as much as I thought she would. She really liked it when they had the dance partied and treasure hunts, that type of stuff. But the other times she much preferred to go to the pool or beach. Luckily there was so much to do all over the ship at all times she was never board. I think she basically danced and swam the whole trip :dance3: . We went to the show and had dinner in AP. Meet our servers, Tatiana and Joel; they were the best servers we have ever had on any cruise. Our daughter loved the magic tricks that Joel did :wizard: every night; I think it was the highlight of her trip.

CC was great, although it started out rough. My daughter refused to go in the clubs; she wanted to swim…so there was no doing anything else :headache: . We ended up finding a couple chairs off to the side and she had a great time  . Then back to the ship to get ready for the show and dinner and pirate night, we all dressed up. Pirate show was great, my daughter made her way to the font and danced the night away. She did not want to go to bed that night.

The day at sea we thought we would take it easy, not so  . Lets see we were at the pool, took the ship tours, and went to bingo, followed by graduation for our daughter on the main stage. Then back to the room to pack before the main show at night. By far the best show on any cruse we have taken, hands down. Then dinner, the dining room was empty; most people were sea sick I heard. I for one love it, but I know that is just me (it was the most movement we had felt as well in 3 cruises). Then we went to the lobby for the farewell party, and one last picture season with all the characters.

We have only traveled RC other than Disney. I liked the food better on Disney than RC. Although both are pretty bland because they need to make it have mass appeal, I find RC to have way less variety then Disney. On RC I pretty much eat the same thing every day for breakfast and lunch, on Disney I don’t think I had the same thing twice. For kids, hands down Disney is the best :woohoo:
