Palo is a great expreience, but its only if you like a variety of food...I didnt really enjoy it because I like everything plain, no seafood, and much more. We did go there for the 1st time for both a dinner and brunch, and I thought the brunch was a little better...So maybe try brunch and then you wouldnt miss a show or dinner...

Hey

We have the second dinner seating.

We have booked PALO's!!!!! Hooray!!! Have the last booking time of the day.
Amazed we got Palo's. Only just booked it, someone (DG!!!!!!) received the pack from DCL the other day but forgot to tell me so have spent until now trying to find reservation numbers etc !!!! (good job I am not with her for brains or common sense.)

Thankyou ever so much for what is going to appear on our door!! It is very very much appreciated!!!!!!

Congrats!!! Sorry to hear it took you so long to find the package...Next time call DCL they can give you your reservation # to book through the website.

dsnyfrk.....welcome as well!!!! And welcome to the DIS!!!

London Couple...that Lakeside shopping area looked verrry nice...especially the Boardwalk area! Oh, did you know that some folks make magnetic signs for their doors??? I am making one for you two....its a surprise! Nothing with your names, etc.....just something I found that would be appropriate:) I have a few for our doot...there is a thread for this...magnetic door signs....you can always take it home and put it on your fridge! Or do you call it an icebox?? I recall when I was in Greece..(many yrs ago...lol) I spent 2 weeks touring, do my families discontent....but I had noo idea what a WC was!!! lol I learned fast!
Anyway....have a fun weekend everyone!!! W are still rearranging rooms here...not ready for the Christmas tree yet with the little one!! Maybe next weekend!

London Couple...I have extra Pirate and Princess maps and brochures I could send...so at least you can plan ahead, they dont pass them out til you arrive. Not sure how you are abt planning.....I am sure they are not chaning the format or the meet and greets that much!! We went to 2 this year:)
Hold onto Kirsty, Jack Sparrow is quite charming.....if she "fancies" him!!! lol

Thankyou for all your help and information. Would love those maps and brochures! If you are able to post that would be great - can trade for a drink on the cruise?!?!
Just looking for the thread you was on about . . . not found it yet!!
The magnetic door sign would be tremendous and we thankyou very very much! We call it a fridge, our door is magnetic as well so it will take pride of place there when we return home . . .

As for Jack Sparrow, its fine I will let her chase him, but I will be busy - the Tinkerbelles they pick always seem very attractive!!!!

We are not eating 2 dinners:rotfl2: We will sit with our kids..maybe an appetizer , we do have an early sitting...and then wait and eat at Palo, our ressie is at 9 pm....(tinkerbelle...is that enough time for the show?) I am not sure if it is a must do...want to see if its worth the "hype" and DH loves northern Italian cuisine....me? Just give me a Lobster Tail and I will be happy:goodvibes

London Couple...:yay: so glad you got your ressie for Palo!!!!

tinkerbelle....thanks for the offer with your girls:goodvibes I know Court will be fine....I think its "unknown" so that is why she thinks no other girls will like Hanna Montana or HSM!!:cheer2: Hellloooo.....I know she will be pleasantly surprised!

Looks like we have the same reservation time then! How many tables are there in palo?

Just been reading through the pack from Disney so still getting more and more excited . . .

Would you like me to PM you our details???

I believe the show times are either 8 or 8:30, so you will be cutting it close...What day is it again?

What dinner seating does everyone have???

We have Main :)

We also have main seating.....we are doing Palo's on Sat night. DH loves it. I'm a picky eater (no seafood either) so it is not a must do for me, but I can always find something I like.....poor dh gets such plain food at home I wouldn't make him miss something if he wants to do it.

I agree it's really a matter of taste as to whether it is a "must do". I think it's a good chance for some private time with the significant other after a week of the kiddos. And it is MUCH quieter and relaxed than the rotation dining...which is fun but really loud and active.

Glad to hear London Couple (and others wanting it) got their reservations!

Well now I am having second thoughts abt Palo...its our last night..and isnt it the night with the "big" show and finale? Do we really want to miss that?

We dont "have" to do Palo....I just dont want to miss the Pirate Party the second night with the kids...and definately not the first night....honestly, we really dont even want to leave DD17 mths! (She is our miracle:)
If we had to choose, we would rather keep our spa time, and check out the adult pool on Sat.....

So many decisions/choices...thanks for any input:)

Update....we cancelled Palo...and will jsut extend Ava's time in the nursery on Sat for a bit, (around nap time)...we just want to spend time with the kids at dinner time...etc...and the menu's at the other restaurants looked just as appetizing!

I'm pretty sure that they either have the show after the last dinner is over or they have an early and late show (otherwise the late dinner seatings would always miss the shows). I am not 100% positive, but I'm fairly certain they do this so everyone can attend. I remember it being fairly late when we went to it....(we've always had the early dinners). If you schedule the Palo's dinner around the time of the late dinner seatings (8pm) I think you can do both.

I agree that you'll want to attend the shows - they are really good quality, and the finale is great. If your kids are in the one of the kid's clubs, on the last night there is a special show with the kids on stage (before the dinners) and the kids really love it.

We like to do Palo's on Sat because that is "dress up" night anyway and I don't want to have to dress up two nights (as Palo's is dressier too). I definitely don't want to miss Pirate night...the kids love it. As I mentioned before, we are calling it our anniversary dinner and for a special occasion, it can't be beat....very quiet and relaxing.

That said, you will enjoy it either way! There is SO much to do and all of it is fun. There are no bad decisions - except not going on the cruise! :)

Thankyou, we are glad we have got them too, although slightly worried about what we might miss - although I am hoping you can put our mind at rest about that . . .

Have had such a manic weekend here!!! Got our pack through from Cruise line so we are happy and our copy of Passporters book is due to arrive in the next day or so . . .

Now just waiting for our AK confirmation to arrive - its on route!!!!

Love my passporter!!
Thanks to the cruise vets for all the info! We will try Palo next time! Just dont want to miss the shows with the kids, dinner etc! DD10 is excited about AP!
Besides, when we get back to AKV...we are going to ask London Couple to babysit for the night!!! lol (just kidding) My DS14 and DD(almost 11) are sooo good with our little DD!!

My DD10 got this great book at Costco about "Pirates"...she wants to bring it and have the "pirate night" characters sign it...have anyone of the cruise vets do the pillowcase thing I read abt??? And do you guys decorate your stateroom doors?? I am doing just a few signs and thats it.

Got a deal????

As far as the book goes, drop it off and anything else you want signed at guest services and give them the details of whos to sign and whos not to sign and it will reappear in your state room the night before we disembark...Its great and so easy to do!!! As far as signs go, it not only makes it easy to find your room amongst the many rooms that all look the same, but it always excites my girls to see what I put on the door this time...I kinda surprise them.
