Feb 6 2010 7 Night Western

Jen, I think we are doing the aquarium on our own and then just kind of touring around on foot... going to get some of those chocolate covered key lime bars. I have heard different reviews of the butterfly farm - some say they loved it, some didn't. I am worried about my spirited 2 y.o tromping on them all though! ;) Other than that, the popular attraction seems to be the southernmost point.

I think I am definitely checking out StarBucks too. :rolleyes1

I think you are required to visit mile 0 and take a picture.

Try candied ginger for feeling seasick.
Works if you over eat too.
I carry it for the latter, but you never know about the former.

Ah, ok! Thanks Wally. I wonder what kind they have on the ship - drowsy or non. I guess it's better to go buy some (it's OTC there, right?) than to risk everyone being tired on our vacation.

Is anyone here taking it as a precaution? I am not sure if I should just hope everyone will be fine?

I use the patches, as I get pretty seasick if I do not. My last cruise, in December 2007, we went through Tropical Storm Olga, which hit Haiti as a hurricane then, and I had to use the patches and the pills the ship gives out. There was so much barf (sorry) all around that boat, or at least BIG wet spots where barf used to be, lol. I luckily never barfed, but I still felt very ill and had to sit in the porthole on deck three outside Sessions (I think that is what it is called) for hours just looking forward. I was really cool though, as I could see the ship rise up really high on the waves, then crash down. They emptied the pools for a while, as it was sloshing out all over. The water was coming up over Deck 9 while my husband was up there in the lounge chair at 2 a.m. watching it. I was in bed sick ; ( It just lasted a couple days, but it was VERY unexpected, especially in December.

Anyone doing any non-Disney excursions?

I am thinking of taking my 8 year old son to Sting Ray city via a jet ski with FatFish adventures. It looks like fun and I think my son would enjoy that more than a quiet sailboat trip there.

We don't have anything planned in Key West or Cozumel - sort of waiting to see what the weather is going to be like right now.

I really want to do the jet ski sting ray trip and swear I saw one through Disney, but now I cannot find it when I go to reserve it. Was I just crazy? So, there is one that is a non-Disney? My only problem is, I may never make it to the sting ray place :rotfl2:

Jenn - No cabin # yet and her grandson Peyton who is 8/9 is coming with her along with her daughter (his mom I take it).

Yes, this is where I think I am going to book through -

This looks like an awesome excursion!! If I weren't on a budget..and if DH was with me I would definitely book this! I have read good things about it on cruisecritic as well.

We aren't doing any Disney-booked excursions. We will go to Royal Palms in Grand Caymen and have booked Nachi Cocom in Cozumel. If the kids were with me I would probably be doing something different in Cozumel. We are just going to walk around Key West...take in the atmosphere/shops. I think the zip line/adventure excursion and Xcaret look great, but not within my budget....I am bringing a new vampire novel and my Nintendo DS....adding a drink in my hand once onboard and I will be set for the week!

My parents were on the West bound Panama in 2008, Mrs. Mork and Dr.Hug (DIS Board names) or Angie and Dennis. Do you know them?

Uh, YES!

Had dinner with them the last time they were in Arizona and are pretty much in daily contact on Facebook! Angie and Dennis are two of my most favorite people on earth. :grouphug: You are one lucky person to have them as parents!

.

Ok gotcha! Now I feel more comfy to go up and say that!! :lmao: Im VERY shy by nature but If Its for a fellow Diser than I have to help out :grouphug:

Thanks! And once you see him 'in the flesh' you will WANT to talk to him. ;) No worries, he is very warm and friendly and will enjoy the joke.

Everyone have a great cruise!

I will be the first one to say I am VERY lucky to have the parents I have. God really was watching out for me I would not trade them for anyone or anything. I am glad you get to enjoy them, too!

wow...the time has flown...can't believe we leave Saturday!

I haven't started to pack yet....will probably be friday since I took the day off....I think I have my 14 month princess covered....the weather looks like it could be a little on the cool side so figuring out what to pack for her....

took my nephews to disney quest today! they had a blast! went shopping and picked a few things up at downtown disney!

I am looking for a red and white striped pirate bandana that has the Mickey ears on top. It has some elastic in the back. Has anyone seen these in Downtown Disney or elsewhere? We are going to DD on Friday and I would love to buy one. Lisa.

Cari - I think we're going to do RP on Grand Cayman also.

Looks like a pretty beach...I keep looking at the beach cams wishing I was there now! Hope the weather warms up a little bit for us!!

Try calling merchandising at 407-828-2000 and ask if any of the stores at DTD have this item...that way you can know exactly where to find it!

Has anyone called to see which movies will be playing on our cruise? :happytv:
