feb 3-11 sell out

Did you ever have a different phone number with them? I know I have heard horror stories of old numbers, despite numerous attempts to be fixed reverting back?

 I hope it works out!

always used the same phone number.
ya know I even made another reservation last week for something else & checked on my list,
CP for friday night was still there.....
well I'll find out later today whats up.

We visited WDW the first week of Feb last year and returning again this year. Same situation LY as this year with rooms being NA. The only time we noticed the cheer crowds was the night MK was open until 2am for them and the Monday after competition when the teams and parents were enjoying some vacation time.

How exciting for your teams! I know my DD5 would love seeing some of the cheerleaders... are there any parts of the competition that are open to the public (like an exibition)?

Last year the semi-finals were held at Indiana Jones in DHS on Saturday. If the same holds true, you should be able to see the competition on 2/7.

Don't forget, the Super Bowl is in Tampa this year on 2/1. That may also be adding to the crowds.

I'll tell you why all the Values and Mods are sold out - UCA High School Nationals Cheerleading Competition is the first weekend in February. My team is competing on Saturday, Feb. 7th. We're all checking into one of the AS resorts on Friday, Feb. 6th and checking out on Mon. Feb. 9th. Several of our families are also booked at the resorts and some are arriving early and some are staying into the following week. I have two families that did not reserve a room with our group reservation and cannot get a room anywhere except for possibly at a Deluxe resort which is very pricey.

There will be a special UCA night on Friday, Feb. 5th at the MK and the park will be closed to anyone part the UCA attendees and families on this package. Also a private championship party at MGM on Sunday, Feb. 8th, in the evening.

Any one want to give up their room reservation? PM me, I need two rooms!!! I wouldn't plan on it being "slow" or "Quiet" this weekend, these girls like to Cheer!

You may want to have your parents check thru other sources, besides Disney. I am only going with the cheerleaders, as my friend's daughters are going. We are staying at the Boardwalk, but I know 2 sets of parents were able to get rooms at the All Stars thru US Airways vacations and Southwest vacations.

huh.

I made dinner dining reservations at the crystal palace for 8:10 friday feb 7th a couple months back.

I know when I printed out the calendars on 10/31/08 MK was scheduled to be open until 9 and when I printed out the calendar on 12/8/08 it was showing a closing time of 8 o'clock. I'm going to keep checking hours right up until we go. I hope you can change your reservations. We are doing CP for lunch on that day. (That Friday is actually the 6th. It's my DD's 16th birthday!) :)

Nothing personal, but I am sure glad you all are not at POP. I'm there Feb 6-11. In Dec 2007 there was some sort of cheerleading thing going on and we were staying at POFQ as were many of the cheerleaders and they were NOISY ! I mean, 8 am, doing cheers outside our room.....throwing hand balls up against the side of the building and throwing the ball from the second floor landing down to the ground and back..........ughhh.

We specifically chose this week instead of the following week because I'll never go during President's Week/Daytona 500/Mardi Gras again. Did that in Feb 2007 and the parks were literally insane (Feb 21-26).

I tried to get any Value or POR/POFQ for the one day of Feb 5, this past MOnday as an add-on. Nothing but CSR for $184. I ended up booking that one night with DVC points. But I just checked this morning, and now there is a room showing up at POP. But on Monday there were no values and only the CSR room. No deluxes showed up either on Monday. Now today is another story.....I'm getting several options on disney.com for rooms for Feb 5.

The deluxe resorts haven't always been running at 90% occupancy levels at all times throughout the years. We've been at the Yacht Club where the occupancy rate as been as low as 20% and loved it.
Yes, well, that's how a man drowned in a river whose average depth was three feet.

But, the annual and quarterly reports often report Resort-wide, year-round average occupancy. And that number is around 89%-90%, last I looked. Lying on reports you file with the SEC can get you jail time, so I'm willing to believe them.

Nothing personal, but I am sure glad you all are not at POP. I'm there Feb 6-11.

I'm pretty sure you will still see plenty of cheerleaders at POP over that weekend!

But, good thing is....I saw a thread on the board somewhere with crowd pictures. There were many from the first week in Feb. 2007 and the parks looked very quiet.

It's just the resorts that will be busy.

We too are trying to avoid the daytona 500 crowd, we also ran into a disaster a few years back during that time....
Is the Daytona 500 Feb 15 this year? So going, say, the 6-12 is pretty safe?
I was thinking I should change our dates to the very end of Feb....like as in the last week, but I see you did that one year and it was crazy busy, Was the daytona the same time (15th) when you were there, or do you think it was just a carry over of Presidents week?
Love to hear your thoughts on this...
Thank you

Any news on your reservation?

Our New Hampshire district has winter vacation during the last week of February. And our April school vacation runs the 18th - 26th. One year we were at the barber shop in MK during February school vacation and a turn of the conversation revealed that everyone waiting at that moment was from NH!

NHWX

Do you remember it being really busy in the last week of Feb?
I can't decide going the 5th of Feb or last week in Feb?

Any news on your reservation?

between disney system being out this morning & then my cable/phone out till now, I finally got through all the "circuits busy' for diz reservations.

yes the park closes on 2/6/09 at 8:00
but my reservation is fine. :confused3 (for 8:10 crystal palace)
she even said that they have reservations booked up to 9:00 that night.
CM told me IF my reservtion would have been affected they would have called., but most times they have reservations after the park closes/
huh/:rolleyes:

ooo
we were there also! :flower3:

we had no choice about our dates,,,spent mardi gras at universal studios in the evening (ZOOOOOO) after a very crowded morning at MK.

when we hit orlando it is usually before or after we head off on a cruise vacation, & those are pretty much stuck in dates as we go on group cruises for value. at least we get to see WDW even though the crowds are sometimes at the worst times. (like this past thanksgiving weekend)
better to be in WDW than sitting at home. in the snow...

Okay, if anyone can help with this please do;) ....We are currently searching for reservations for the first or second week of Feb. i am now wondering if we should wait until the very end of Feb????:confused3
When does spring break start?
I read in a Disney book that the end of Feb is really busy,,,is this true?
I do not want to be there during daytona 500 (feb 15) we did that one year and it was really busy, also presidents week though.
Any of you all that could give us some advice, our family would be grateful:hug:
So first weeks of feb 1-13 we have available or
last week of feb even first week of march?
please w/b

I owe you an apology:hug: i just reread your post and saw you had listed the first week in Feb... I would do that:thumbsup2, then end of the 2nd week in Feb. is going to start picking up with school vacations.. 1st week in March would be my second choice. We are going Feb. 5-10

Good luck! I just got a 40% pincode, but my hotel was not available. (2 adults) As I mentioned we are Feb 5-10 at POR...only Saratoga & Old Key for my dates

Oh no momof2 !!! WHAAAHHHH :scared1: :scared:  :crazy2:

The Daytona was a few days before we arrived. And honestly luvyawdw, I'd like to say you're safe, but folks just don't come in for the Daytona 500. Yes, it's the 15th, but I'd bet money people will extend their stay in FL and do Disney as well. They did in 2007 when we were there. Between Pres Week, Mardi Gras and Daytona--it was a mess. One night, Sat Feb 24, the MK was open late for EMH. OMG ! :scared1: Got off the bus...walked through the gates of the MK, and that's as far as we could get. We could not get off of Main Street. Coudn't even get further than the Emporium....it was near insane. The busses there and back were just as bad......What was WDW thinking to only have that one park open late ? Have no idea because it made for unhappy guests and unsafe conditions on the busses and in the MK.

So I think you're 6-12 will be ok, until come 10th/11th ? I afraid we may start seeing crowds coming in for Pres Week and Daytona. Mardi Gras is Feb 24th this year I believe.....so later in the month could be crowded as well. At this point, I think the earlier in Feb the better.........
Just speculation of course.........

I was just checking on the Disney website, and it appears that there are openings at all the values and most of the moderates for Feb. 3rd - Feb. 6th, and openings for at least two of the values for Feb. 8 - 14th. :confused3 So, it looks like the February 7th is the only day that they're all booked up. It was the same way when we booked a few weeks ago.

Just out of curiosity I went on and checked those dates for CBR (where we are staying that week) still nothing available but it did give me the option of POR.

I think you have nailed it on the head! Earlier the better. Even with the cheering girls....I think early Feb is going to be MUCH less crowded in the parks than after the 12th or 13th.

I just went in a played around w/ our dates of stay (2/2-12) and still nothing but a couple Deluxes (can't remember which) available. However, if I go in and do 2/2-2/6 and then 2/9-2/12, pretty much everything is available. It looks like it is the weekend dates that are blocking out most of the resorts.

I don't know if anyone is still trying to get those dates, or if we have all been on there "playing" (like me:rolleyes: ) just to see how booked things are, etc- if someone is actually looking for dates around then, and wanting a value/mod/ or other deluxe, I would maybe call them directly and see if a split stay would be possible. Maybe book your hotel of choice for the first part, go into the higher priced one for the 2 days over the weekend (even though it will probably be above your original budget) and then move back to the resort of your choice or another one in your price range.
