feb 3-11 sell out

I was just checking on the Disney website, and it appears that there are openings at all the values and most of the moderates for Feb. 3rd - Feb. 6th, and openings for at least two of the values for Feb. 8 - 14th. :confused3 So, it looks like the February 7th is the only day that they're all booked up. It was the same way when we booked a few weeks ago.
:cool1: Yay, I have my hopes up again!

We were originally going to go Feb 10 thru Feb 17 so we could be there on my birthday but decided to go the first week instead because as of the 12th, rates increase and stay high through April. So if the rates are indicative of the crowds, I would say it starts getting crowded as of President's weekend.

I think the simple cause of being sold out that first weekend in Feb is the cheerleading group. Even looking online for regular rates (no promo) turned up nothing that weekend.

I don't think however that the parks will be that busy.

there is a cheering competition being held at the sports complex during that time which would make thr rooms less available

Okay, if anyone can help with this please do;) ....We are currently searching for reservations for the first or second week of Feb. i am now wondering if we should wait until the very end of Feb????:confused3
When does spring break start?
I read in a Disney book that the end of Feb is really busy,,,is this true?
I do not want to be there during daytona 500 (feb 15) we did that one year and it was really busy, also presidents week though.
Any of you all that could give us some advice, our family would be grateful:hug:
So first weeks of feb 1-13 we have available or
last week of feb even first week of march?
please w/b

Personally, I would do something from Feb. 25 into March 10....
To avoid winter break which is the week of Presidents Day and mid March break for other school districts.

Wow, I really hope you're wrong. We picked Feb 7-13 because it was suppose to be slow that time of year. DH will have a fit if it's really crowded. That will ruin our entire vacation.

i am so very glad we are not staying on property.at least i will not feel obligated to be a the WDW property to get my moneys worth  :headache:

Justplaingoofy, have you ever been there during the end of Feb or begining of march? It sounds like a good idea:idea: I would rather pay a bit more for our room then fight the crowds. We got one of the flyers in snail mail.,...im going to see if that will work for those dates. Let you guys know what i come up with.
:)

Another First Week of Feb, at POR here.

Busy or not, it is better than being here in New England with this snow storm right now.

24 days:goodvibes

We'll be at POR Feb. 1-8 and I'm hoping things won't be too crowded. Like everyone else, we chose February because it's supposed to be a quieter time of the year. However, as others have said, there are limited numbers of rooms with the deal and it is always possible that Disney is "closing" a certain # of rooms/floors/buildings at resorts if they are anticipating not making their goals in order to save money. This could make it seem like things are more booked than they actually are. I'm just crossing my fingers that it's at least quieter than the other times we've been.

Maybe we'll bump into each other! We are there 2-10

We have been there twice during the week of 2/5-2/12 and both time the cheerleading competition was going on. The park WERE NOT crowded at all. I think the only time it seems crowded was on SUnday afternoon at MGM. This is because all of the cheerleaders go there for a party. I am not too worried. I think the crowds will be fine.

Thank you for the info...I going to keep trying for the AKL during this time....

The weekend of the 14th is Valentine's day and president's weekend and many kids have a 4 day weekend. It is going to be very crowded. The last week of Feb doesn't look too bad yet although it is college spring break. I just booked rooms and ADRs and everything I wanted was wide open.

B.

You can be certain that Disney has a lot of business when kids have 4 day weekends. Then you add in all the special events (ie. the cheer competition) and the resorts are even busier. Our babysitter recently took part in a soccer tournament at DWWS just after Christmas. Haven't talk to her since then to see how it went.

Also, I don't know a single college that starts Spring Break in February. The majority of them are the 2nd & 3 week of March and I'm sure there aren't that many college students that would pick going to WDW over guzzling beer:drinking1 in Cancun Mexico. :lmao: :lmao: I know a lot of schools have Spring Break in March and that's when Disney gets really busy. I know that schools in Texas & Arkansas are out mid March; NE schools and the schools where we are in GA are out in early April. Not sure about the rest of the country.

This past Sunday I booked a short two night stay at AKLV's Feb 3-5 using my DVC points- just a studio for a little getaway.---Kathy

I think some of you are in for a rude awakening.

Remember, what you want (low crowds) goes directly opposite what Disney wants (packed parks and full hotels).

If it's any consolation, I was surprised to get a room only ressie at a discounted rate for Feb. 15-17 at POR.

I assume that was with a PIN code?
I was disappointed to learn there are NO AP rates for those days

Our New Hampshire district has winter vacation during the last week of February. And our April school vacation runs the 18th - 26th. One year we were at the barber shop in MK during February school vacation and a turn of the conversation revealed that everyone waiting at that moment was from NH!

Great. We planned on a quiet week too...going 2/5-2/12. No offense against the cheer competition but being mostly a summer visitor to WDW, we were looking forward to it being a less crowded trip than normal!

I see that on Friday, feb 6th, Mk is open it's normal feb hours...9a-8p according to the schedule on disneyworld.com

huh.

I made dinner dining reservations at the crystal palace for 8:10 friday feb 7th a couple months back.

Hmm you may want to check on that!

ya know..IF they change hours on the parks after you book,, why don't they call you? they have all the phone numbers & reservations in their systems.

figures, I can't call for 8 hrs......

Did you ever have a different phone number with them? I know I have heard horror stories of old numbers, despite numerous attempts to be fixed reverting back?

 I hope it works out!
