You most certainly don't have to participate. It is up to you. If you don't want to dress up and don't feel comfortable in the dining room in casual clothes for that night you can always eat at BBB, get room service, or get a quick service meal by the pool. Can I get more info.on formal night? Do majority participate? Is it optional? What about semi formal night? Im just asking because wed have to buy hubs all new clothes. He had an injury and with recovery and meds he gained a lot of weight.

I planned on taking some hand sanitizer everywhere and dousing my kids with it!
We are so excited for this cruise! It will be me (Anne), DH (John), DD-10 (almost 11) (Natalie), DS-7 (Jack), and DD-4 (Molly). We are driving from AZ to CA on Saturday and staying at the Crowne Plaza and have an 11am boarding time!Honestly, just wash your hands a lot and don't put your dirty hands in your mouth. You'll be fine! At the kids club they have the kids wash their hands right when they come in. If you can convince your kids to not put their hands in their mouths and get them to wash a lot, they should also be fine. There's always the worry of getting sick when with a lot of folks in close quarters, but last year I don't recall anyone getting sick. Can you believe there are only two more cruises until our cruise?? that is nuts!!
I am getting really nervous about norovirus and getting sick on the cruise. Especially since I just read that Purel and other hand sanitizers do not protect against that virusI planned on taking some hand sanitizer everywhere and dousing my kids with it!

Hi Everyone!

Thanks! Yes, first Disney Cruise. My husband and I got married on a Hawaiian cruise. We are big Disney fans and got to Disneyland often![]()
Last time we missed the meet up as it was the same time as the ship tour. I'd love to meet up with any of you that are interested. Is anyone setting up a meet? We were hoping to get our DD5 (almost 6) to meet other kids her age from the get go. She is very shy when she is first in a new situation but after 15 or so minutes she is fine and even turns in to a bit of a ham, lol. We were thinking if she had some 'friends' around the same age, she may be more apt to go into the clubs for a bit.
I know the FE group usually has one, but unfortunatley we are not participating in that this time (first cruise for us).

Kimmypie, our girls are seven. If a meet isn't scheduled, we'd be happy to meet up with you to have your daughter. If there's a time that works for you on the first day, LMK. We plan on getting to the port around 11am. If you are going to be at the port early we could even meet there.
My family would love to do a meet up the first day if anyone's interested. Throw out a time and place!
We have never cruised before, so I am probably not the best person to choose a time and place. Maybe before the muster drill or right after?
Mahrs, how old are your kids? We have DD 5 (just shy of 6) and DS 2 (just shy of 3).
Looking forward to meeting everyone.
Our girls are the same age! DD is 5, almost 6 too. She'd love to have a "friend" to know in the kids club!
DS is 3 almost 4.
I was thinking just before or just after the muster drill too. Anyone else have suggestions on this?
Right after the muster drill is a mad rush to the deck for the sail away party, so before probably makes more sense.
What time are you all hoping to get to the port?
I think the muster drill is at 4pm and the sailaway party at 4:30. Since you're concierge you'll get boarding number 1What time is the muster drill and subsequent sail away party?
We plan to arrive probably around 11. After boarding we planned to run over to Kids Club and see if they will allow DS in the club as opposed to the nursery (fully potty trained, almost 3, full time preschool with 2-5 year old every day). Then maybe some lunch and hitting up the pool, weather permitting.
We are concierge so hopefully the early boarding will give us plenty of time to do all of this prior to the meet and muster drill etc! We have never cruised before so this is all new.
. You'll have plenty of time for what you're planning! We could plan on meeting up around 3pm. Rooms should be ready by then and then after meeting we can head to our muster stations.
