FE goes commercial - get it from Disney

I've only been popping in every couple of months so someone may have mentioned it already, but I noticed a familiar sight when going through the Gifts & Amenities page. You can get your very own "DCL gift hanger" in one of the gift packages. So DCL has thrown their official FE into the ring



What do ya think? Diminishes the concept or enhances it?

Only comes with 3 pockets. It will not work for everyone. I am surprised it took this long for them to sell one.

We saw that and thought it was a good idea. Our only issue is that it can't be personalized (we think), so feared it would disappear. Sadly this does happen, esp to the FE gifts.

I just wonder if people that purchase this realize they have to join a FE group and also give gifts. It's really weird to me that anyone would just purchase a hanger and place it on their door lol!

I've looked at it and just haven't joined due to the need to join a group and make sure we're getting gifts as well as hopefully getting, etc. If someone were to just buy this from Disney, what would they expect to happen? Or will they see it as a way to leave notes for each other as they come and go?

Some people buy their own FE gifts, rather than join a group. That way, their kids get what they want.

Chances are, nothing will happen. Sometimes you hear about "Pixie Dusting" where someone has extra gifts and they randomly put them in FE gift holders. But more likely it will just be one of many that people walk by. Consider joining a group. You can find some that limit to 10 room per group, so it isn't overwhelming.

When I have not wanted to participate in a group, I have brought small gifts for my kids and left them in there myself.

Could get Pixie Dust, but my guess is that they expect to gift their children themselves.

The description makes it clear that the extender (they call it a hanger) does NOT come with gifts in it.

Our next cruise isn't until 2019, maybe we'll give it a try then, though our daughter will be 12. Maybe we'll do it on behalf of my sister-in-laws family since they'll have a 5 and 8 year old then.

No age limit to participate in a FE exchange. We have been in groups that had adult only rooms participate.

Spending $65 so strangers can leave you tchotchkes that someone will just steal anyway? No, thanks.
