Faxed Requests

To anyone that has faxed a request in to a resort: Did you get an acknowledgement that they received it? I faxed one in when I sent my credit card info for final payment. I received a statement showing the balance was paid but there was no preference noted.

I've done it a few times and never received confirmation back. Usually I wait until 2-3 days before. Good Luck. In most cases, I have received what I requested.

Ok, I am confused. Why do you fax in your request? Do you get a better response that requesting when you make the reservations? I made my requests when I made my reservations and on my confirmation, my request was noted.

Should I fax in a request also?

What I have been reading lately on this board is that the best thing to do is make your requests at the time of booking and do not fax.

The last two times we have visited that is what we have done and we have gotten pretty much what we requested. In May, at the BW, the CM made a remake about our requests and he made a change in room assignment for us without me asking. So, the front desk CMs can see the requests you made when you made your ressie.

Same thing here, I make my requests when I make ressie. I thing they prefer this. When I call to confirm (about 4 -5 days before we leave) I double check my requests. They have always been as I requested. I have always gotten my requests (which is usually just non-smoking) but have requested MK view at CR couple of times and got it.

Based on what friends that work at Disney resorts have told me, room assigners have become so overwhelmed with fax requests many are just ignoring them. They do however pay attention to requests given to them when the reservation is downloaded into the resort computer from CRO.

I just go with my requests given at the time I book my room.

Hmmmm Sounds like I maybe should forego the faxing this time. Don't want to be annoying I booked through DU. Should I make sure my DU friend relays my requests?

I almost always make my request when I make the ressies. However, even though this is our 16th trip it is our first time staying at the BWI. I pretty well knew the layout of the other properties but was unsure about the best location at BWI. Once I got some feed back on this board and advice from people who were familiar with the property I knew enough to make a request (my ressies were made back in the spring). Hope that ends your confusion.
