Looking for ideas! We are planning for some park downtime, but that doesn't mean that we want to sit by the pools all day. So what are your votes for fun things to do? Places to go. Please be specific. We will hopefully be staying at BWV. Thanks!

- downtown disney - our boys love the lego shop and Ghiardelli's ice cream - yum! and the world of disney store
- miniature golf
- boating - go to a MK resort's marina and rent a boat and cruise around Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon - or you can do it at the Yacht Club Marina.
- check out AKL and view the animals on the Savannah, have breakfast or dinner at Boma
- ride the monorail, check out the other resorts

We enjoy wandering around Downtown Disney. We also like to check out the Boardwalk (will be easy if you are staying there). It is also fun to go check out the other resorts if you haven't seen them before.

Please forgive my ignorance. What do you mean by checking out other resorts. I imagine that you mean more than going there and "having a look." Pool-hopping is a no-no. What else do you do? What are the top resorts that you'd check out? AKL sounds terrific. Which others?

Take the monorail to the resorts (Contemporary, Poly, Grand Floridian) and check them out (shop, eat, etc.). The monorail ride from MK to Epcot is nice.

Hanging out on the Boardwalk is a lot of fun. We stayed there this past November and had a blast. During the day we rented the 2 person bike and rode around the whole boardwalk area, then went to the arcade. At night they had magicians, music, kids getting their hair braided and face painted. It was so much fun to be around, definitely a lot of energy.

We also enjoy the Winter/Summerland mini golf by Blizzard Beach.

We went to the World of Sports once in the summer and had a good time. But I think we got lucky, because normally there isn't a whole lot going on there but we picked a day when one of our local little league teams was playing so we actually saw people we knew and watched a fun game.

We like to take a monorail ride and visit the different gift shops(each gift shop I find something another gift shop doesn't have) - going in and out of ALL the shops at DTD and ending at DQ so DD, almost11, can get virtual park fix! also usually have a late dinner at one of the MANY WONDERFUL restaurants!

Play mini golf at fantasia garden or wintersummersland?

If you have a car - go to the Belz outlets and in mall 1 and 3 there are WDW outlet stores - you can find some great deals - I got an embossed zipper and hooded TINK and POOH sweatshirt last July for $10.00 each! its a hit or miss deal but I always check them out - here is a link

HAVE FUN!!!

oh by the way - BWV is AWESOME!!!

I like

* Resort hopping (looking at the resort lobbies, gift shops, food courts, and grounds and taking pics)
* Shopping at Downtown Disney
* Shopping at the Disney outlets (see my web page for directions and maps)
* Shopping at some of the flea markets on US 192
* Exploring Olde Town (on US 192 just east of World Drive)

Sometimes just cruising up US 192 or International Drive and checking out random shopping centers is fun, too. You can find all kinds of interesting stuff and good places to eat that way.

We haven't had the chance to check out all of them. No, we don't pool hop. I like to see the lobbies, gift shops, restaurants etc. There are different things in some of the gift shops, some specific to that resort. Last trip we had a few extra hours, so we went to the Wilderness Lodge and walked around outside, looked around, and I told my husband that I'd like to stay there sometime in the future (hint, hint). I love finding little Disney touches like the Mickey & Friends totem pole in the lobby. It is fun to see where the restaurants are and look at their menus so we know where we'd like to come back to. I love all of the theming and it is fun to see. Top resorts I would check out would probably be the deluxe resorts. The Grand Floridian is beautiful, there is also a good ice cream shop there. I love the Wilderness Lodge. I haven't been able to make it to a lot of resorts yet, but now as a DVC member, I know I have a lot more trips ahead of me where I can check them out.
