Favorite server on the Magic???

We were on Magic last November and will be again in 2 weeks. Our server was Cornwall from St. Vincent and assistant was Marlin. WE wondered if it was a coincidence our server was called Cornwall as we are from Cornwall in the UK, or whether it was pre-arranged! His assistant was Marlin, I think from Sweden, she was great too, but Cornwall was BRILLIANT. We have requested him again as our DS 11 thought he was just GREAT! :thumbsup2  :cheer2: :grouphug:

We were on the 3/3/08 sailing and also had Cornwall, he was truly amazing, probably the best we have had. He was very friendly and always on top of our needs.

Talk at you later...

Norm

Alright you EB transatlantic cruisers, did you have a favorite server on the Magic? Was any pixie dust sprinkled your way? :wizard:

I haven't read the whole thread so I don't know if he ahs already been mentioned from the Netherlands was our server a couple of years ago and he was great. When we cruised last year he was a Head Server though jot on our rotation. He saw us at lunch one day and recognised us and though not on our rotation he sorted out a minor problem for us with no problem and without being asked. Also when he was our serve, he went out of his way to bring us dishes from another restaurant on a night when the Parrot Cay menu just didn't appeal.

We alos had Leroy as our assistant server on one cruise - a magic trick (usually terrible but he laughed so hard that we all laughed too) every night and always a smile. We have been on three cruises since and he always recognises us and comes over to say hello.

Mariano from Argentina was our Assistant Server back in mid-April. He was absolutely wonderful with our DD and DS. He was always very attentive to the beverage needs of our family. Always had the soy milk on hand and made sure I had enough ginger ale throughout dinner. DS liked "Mr. Mariano" so much that he now has an imaginary friend named "Mariano", LOL!

I may have missed the post, but if we wanted to request Mariano again for our next cruise, when and how do we go about doing it?

Pairoj was our amazing server on the EB Transatlantic cruise. Like a couple of previous posters, my family and I are still using his "yummy, yummy" catch phrase and it never fails to make us all smile. Our assistant server was Oana and she was a little more reserved, but we still thought she was awesome.

I have to mention Toto because we had him for assistant server about six years ago, and he still remembered my family on the Transatlantic cruise. We ran into him more times than I can count on this cruise, and he stopped to talk to us every time. It really made our cruise!

Mladen from Croatia was our server on the Mexican Riviera cruise in June, 2005 and he was fantastic. He looked the least little bit like Tom Hanks in The Terminal. Ion was our drink server and he was good. He drew Mickey Mouse one night and did a balancing thing the the salt & pepper and silverware. Atilla was our head server and he didn't do very much for us.

We also had these guys on our Mexican Riv cruise in June 05. They were awesome! I think Jon drew us Donald Duck and Pluto. Atilla was pretty much a jerk until tip night! By then it was to late to impress us at all. Hoping to see Mladen and Jon on our repo cruise.:thumbsup2

I'd love to know if Erik from Indonesia is onboard the Med cruises. He was our server on the Wonder in June of 2005, and I had heard a rumor that he was moving over to the Magic for this summer. I'd love to request him again for our Thanksgiving cruise on the Magic!

I am so glad someone revived this thread! On th 10/7 Magic we had Adrian from England and Ion from Romania. They were awesome!! Really went out of the way to make all 12 of us feel special. (It was so neat to see so many people mention Adrian).
That is right about them moving the server that is requested. Adrian had told us that Ion was moved that week for the early seating because someone requested him but then he came back for our late seating. And Adrian was engaged to a girl from guest services ( I cannot think of her name) and they were going to stay on the ship after they married.

Adrian is gone fron DCL and his ex-girlfriend is now an officer, and still on Magic.

We also had Leroy & his handsome assistant Gabor. Leroy's trick with popping a cork of a wine bottle with a knife is still talked about in our family. My DB tries to copy him (& sometimes succeeds) every chance he gets. Leroy & Gabor remembers our family too & always says hello. We are going on the med cruise in less than 2 weeks & hope to maybe see them again! :thumbsup2

We had Atilla as our head server for our '05 cruise and have to agree he is awful. He did actually visit tables everynight that cruise but it was obvious he didn't want to be there. I don't remember the exact details anymore but I remember he said something that was really rude to my DH and kept an attitude to the point we told our head server to keep Atilla away from our table for the rest of the cruise. He did stay away but did return the last night to pick up his tip. We still tipped him even if we didn't like him he did his job and kept things running smoothly. I've never seen him mentioned on the boards before so maybe he just has his bad weeks.

You can go into wherever they are changing dining assignments, Diversions or Rockin' Bar D, on your initial arrival onto the ship and request a particular server. They really try to be very accommodating. We've had very good luck doing this in the past. :goodvibes

I agree that Pairoj is absolutely great. He was our server on the Panama Repo in May 2005. He still recognized us two years later and stopped to talk a few times when things were slow on Deck 9 during the sea days on the EB Transatlantic.

I don't know if anyone answered this for you yet, but yes, you certainly can request a favorite server. We made sure of it after our last Magic cruise.
