Favorite server on the Magic???

When I was on the magic in 05 Erasmo was my head waiter and he was just flat out awesome.

I'm glad to hear he was promoted. In '03 he was our head server, but apparently that had just been temporary, because the next year he was server again. We have so many favorites--Leeroy from the Virgin Islands, Kendall from Trinidad Tobago, Liam from Jamaica.

Our favorite in the dining room is Sompong aka "Sammy". We had him last year and he was FABULOUS. We have requested him again for our next cruise. We have had Paola before too. She is soo sweet!

I totally agree about Marco in Palo...WONDERFUL!

We were on the 6/10 cruise and enjoyed Palo for the first time at the dinner seating. Our server was Louise. She was awesome! We liked her so much that we asked for her again at brunch the next morning. She has been with DCL for 7 years and knows so much. She gave us the best recommendations and we were always thrilled.

Our nightly servers were Slvia and Azwald. They took very good care of our family and table. I would recommend them too!

We just returned and had Romeo from the Phillipines and Theodore from Bulgaria--excellent--did tricks for us each night, brought lots of extras and very happy to take any special requests.

Paula from Jamaica, our assistant server on the Magic was outstanding. Our DD3 woke up the last day and the first thing out of her mouth was "I wan't Paula". And DD3 is very reserved and shy around new people. I really hope Paula gets promoted soon. She so deserves it. Very friendly, very attentive, very funny. Good with everyone in our group (ages 3 -65).

We too had Paula as our assistant server on the Magic's 14 day Panama Canal cruise last May ('05) and LOVED her. We were on the Magic this past March and when she saw us in Topsiders she ran across the restaurant to give us a great big hug. We only saw Paula a couple of times during the cruise because she was on a different dining rotation but we did manage to find her on the last night and talk a little bit more to her. She told us she would be leaving the Magic in about 5 weeks and not returning but she was leaving for a good reason - she and her husband were going to start a family. We LOVED Paula and know she will make a great Mom. We wish her and her husband all the best.

That's fantastic!!!!! I agree she will be an amazing mom. But boy will she be missed on the ship when (you notice I don't say if) we go again.

Our favorite servers on the Magic were Raman (Dinnig room server) from India and Oana (assistant server) from Romania!!! AWESOME SERVERS!!! Great personalities! Made our cruise so much more magical!

My friend had a crush on Theo by the end of the cruise. I just may have to request them as I hear nothing but great things about them.

We have friends who are servers. They told us that when a Guest requests a specific server, they move that server to the Guest. (since the guests table and dining rotations are pre-determined) That means that the server may leave their regular team, and regular rotation to be your server. The CMs said they they enjoy this, not only does it look good for them, but it makes their job even more fun than usual. So they may work with a different server or assistant server for that week, they said that they don't mind.

Judging by all these posts, there is no way I will have a "best" server on my cruise because other DIS'ers will have already requested all the "best" servers for themselves.

Hopefully, "average" will be good enough for little ole me.

I wonder if this is a change. When we cruised in 12/04 we requested our favorite server & our rotation was changed so that we would be in his section.

From the sounds of it though, I think you'll be hard pressed to find a bad server.

I was worried about who would be our serving team this time, but Romeo and Theo far exceeded our expectations. Looking around the dining room it seems most servers do the same tricks and work very hard to make that connection with their guests. those average servers are rare i would think.

I am so glad someone revived this thread! On th 10/7 Magic we had Adrian from England and Ion from Romania. They were awesome!! Really went out of the way to make all 12 of us feel special. (It was so neat to see so many people mention Adrian).
That is right about them moving the server that is requested. Adrian had told us that Ion was moved that week for the early seating because someone requested him but then he came back for our late seating. And Adrian was engaged to a girl from guest services ( I cannot think of her name) and they were going to stay on the ship after they married.
