The Grand Floridian is awesome in every way. But,if you want to spend less and still go deluxe, Animal Kingdom Lodge is a wonderful property with one of the best executed themes in WDW and with a AAA discount, a standard room can cost just a little more than a room at a moderate resort.
I can't just pick one favorite. It depends on how full my purse feels at the time.
Favorite Value--All Star Music
Favorite Moderate--Port Orleans Riverside. I love all the trees and flowers, I love the walking paths, I love the food court. I just love everything about this resort.
Favorite Deluxe--The Poly. Again, lots of trees and flowers and pretty paths. Love sitting in a chair by the pool and being able to see the Castle. Love being on the monorail line, and within walking distance to the TTC. Unfortunately, my puse loves this one the least. It is just so hard to talk myself into saving up for the Poly, instead of staying at one of the less expensive resorts.
Been to almost all the Disney resorts..... and can't believe that the best kept Disney secret is Boardwalk Inn!!! It is wonderful......lots of things to do in the evening....you feel like you are at a "different park" at night...people watching, entertainment, boats, lake, etc! We love it.....can't wait to get back! When we try to think of going to another property, we try to imagine "nightlife" of the same kind at the property, and cannot find one that offers close to the same....other than BC and YC. Great area!
I would love to stay at the Floridian but havent yet. I enjoyed the Poly but for the price didnt think it was all that. The BC was nice. I have really enjoyed the remodeled Shades of Green.
Hi Pixie8
We are a family of 8! We have to book 2 rooms because none of the traditional rooms will fit our family. The cabins and other 2 bedroom suites are just too expensive for our family. So we get 2 room at a value. We have stayed at Pop and that has been a lot of fun. We leave in 3 days and will be staying at ASMo. IMO there is a lot to do at all the resorts. And you can always go to a movie and marshmellow roast at another one.
Hope that helps!
We've stayed at all (except for a couple of the Mods) and quite honestly, we don't have a favorite - they're all good. But the one we've stayed at the most is Shades of Green - it's a special place to stay if you qualify.
We're staying offsite next month for just the first time. I hope we end up liking it because it's really inexpensive.
Well, seeing as how I haven't stayed at a Disney Resort in twenty years (changing in January, probably staying Contemporary) I only have experience staying in the Contemporary, Polynesian and the original Lake Buena Vista Villas. Contemporary was definitely my favorite then. Its almost as iconically Disney to me as Cinderella's castle. Can't wait to see what the rooms look like now!
Of the eight that we've stayed at (see below), we liked BC the best. Great location, arguably WDW's best pool, lots of restaurants within walking distance, very close to World Showcase, & it's a beautiful hotel surrounded by other beautiful hotels.
