Favorite memory at WDW

I remember our first trip to WDW. I say WDW because that was all there was. Just the MK- no other theme parks. Anyway, we were eating at the Crystal Palace buffet, and from outside we saw Pluto and Goofy. It was the very first characters we had ever seen, and we were so excited. We ran from the CP, leaving all our food, outside to meet these characters. They had finished their set, and were heading off set, but they stopped and posed for pictures. Goofy stuck my head in his huge mouth and did a big kissing sound. I thought that was great. I also thought we would never see these characters again. 32 years later, we are still going back to WDW for more!:rotfl: Now that we have met the characters hundreds of times, I still think about the first character interaction, and the thrill of it all.

Just before we got engaged, DH and I went to Disney. On our second-to-last night, we decided to split up for a few hours and do our own thing. We were going to meet back up at MGM for dinner.

As a surprise, I hot tailed it over to EPCOT to pick up a t-shirt that DH had been eyeing at the Rose and Crown.

Little did I know that DH went straight over at the Magic Kingdom to get golden Mickey ears embroidered for me.

When we met back up, we were both like, "I have a gift for you!" It was pretty sweet. The rest of the night was very romantic...

We got engaged 2 weeks later!

The first trip with our boys in 2007. They were 3 and 5 at that point and I cried every day I think just seeing the total joy on their faces .... and when they met their heroes the Power Rangers it was the cherry on the Cake!

We've had so many magical moments. My favorite is so simple: Mid afternoon one day in Epcot, DD and I took a popcorn break. We tucked into a corner on the outside of the MouseGears building and watched the fountain. She was around 6 and it was the first time she realized that the water danced to music.

What makes this my favorite memory is that a year later, she won an essay contest at school with an essay about a special time she had shared with an adult. I never saw the essay until she won, and it was all about watching a dancing fountain with her mom. I still cry whenever I read it, and she's 11 now.

When my daughter was 2 1/2 years old she loved Ariel. We stood in line for Ariel's Grotto for a long time. The whole time she was asking me in baby talk what we were in line for. I kept saying "I'm not sure, but its gonna be special". She'd say okay, and we would look at the pretty fountains around there. I'll never forget the look on her face when turned the corner and she saw the Little Mermaid herself. She walked over slowly and I sat her up by Ariel. She was in awe. All she could do was keep touching her long, red hair. She couldn't even speak.

I am bumping this back here to see if we can get new replies... it did so well the first time around

When my little guy was 5, he dressed as a prince to go to the castle. People were used to seeing princesses, but not princes. People stopped, smiled, and stared, called out to him, and even asked him to have their picture taken with him. Which he did. He was a little celebrity! He was walking on air! It really warmed my heart. You know it's all about the princesses, but it was super special for him that day. The best moment of the day was when Cinderella met him at the castle. She was so surprised to have a little prince, she spent some extra time with him. Then she bent down and gave him a big kiss on the cheek! It was unexpected. He blushed and it was all caught on a photo. So cute. :)

Every year from the time I was 6 my Grandparents would load me and my meager little suitcase into their car and we would take off for a week to Walt Disney World. Those weeks were Heaven for me. All the stops along the way, with the payoff being that walk down Main Street holding the hands of the two people I loved most in this world.

Well, years past as they have a habit of doing. I was just out of college and I hopped on a plane to go work at Disney. My grandmother had since stopped going to Disney due to her bad knees and the pain from walking too far. I was hired as an entry level Cast Member, and my first stop after my paperwork was finished was Main Street.

I pulled my cell phone out of my bag and dialed my Grandmother.
When she picked up I said, "Grandma, I'm walking down Main Street with you again..."

She was crying, I was crying...But the memories of all those trips when I was a child came flooding back. I am truly grateful to her and my Grandfather for sacrificing what they did so that I had more magic in my youth and those memories to hold on to and recreate for my children.

Pretty much all of my first trip with my then girlfriend :)

My sophomore year of high school, I went down to WDW to perform with my marching band. We were marching the parade and performing. People were clapping and dancing to the music. We cross over the bridge towards Main Street and turn the corner. Go around the little circle, doing our thing and then we come out of the circle and it is just a sea of our school's colors. One of the band parents made cardboard Mickey hands with our school name on it for all the other parents to wave. Half of Main St was lined with our band parents. It was just the most amazing feeling having so many people so far away from home there to support us.

About 6 or 7 years ago, we took my grandparents to Florida. The whole family came (aunts, uncles, cousins). My grandfather passed away almost a year ago so I am so glad I have the memories from that trip. We are taking my grandmother again (just my parents, brother, me, and her this time) in March. We were sure she would put up a fight just because that's who she is. So my mom made me call her to tell her we were going and she said "ok, that sounds good." We're still about 2 months away and she wants to start packing now. All she talks about is making sure she has enough clothes to bring and what she needs to pack.

Mine is a jumble of the many trips we did. MK was always done in the same order with Fantasy Land being the last thing we did (didn't go near it during the day) and just being able to run around and hop back to the front when mom got near the front of the line (not at all crowded and everyone elses kids did the same sort of thing) at 20000 leagues under the sea. Loved, the first time me and my cousin were old enough to run for a quick ride around on the teacups... great times... always asleep before we got out of the parking lot...
