Favorite memory at WDW

Sister?! LOL OK. I can handle that. I'm betting that you and "mom" would be a mess riding Soarin' together though! ;)

I posted a photo but it is huge. I do not know how to fix it!!

Yay! it is resized and decent, I think!

OK, here is the other pic. Hopefully it is smaller also. I can't believe I can finally (after 8 years of DISing!) post a pic!

My favorite memory is when I arranged a scavenger hunt at MK through Gifts of a Lifetime to welcome our oldest son's fiance to the family. The whole experience was amazing but I think the very beginning when she realized that she was having a personal adventure and watching her excitement is the fondest memory.

This is a very sweet post (as are the others here!!). Your DIL is very fortunate to have a family like yours to become a part of.

My real-life mom hates Soarin'.:lmao: Seriously. She does. I need a "mom" who'll ride it with me.

And another good pic!!:goodvibes

haha. Well, it'll work then. My mom needs a daughter who will ride it over and over and over. Also, you'd better like ToT. She rode that 11 times in a row once and wanted more! She's 71 and I promise you, she can out do anyone on the DIS doing WDW! It is crazy!

One of my favorite memories at WDW is a trip back in the summer of 2002 with my late, DM.

Mom had been diagnosed with cancer in 2000 and my dad had passed away right before Christmas 2001.

I told mom she was going to WDW with DS and me. I even splurged this trip and booked at the Poly. Mom was in a wheelchair and being able to hop on the monorail would make getting around easier.

Anyway, one day DS and I went to one of the water parks. Mom had stayed in the room to write post cards. When we got back to our room, there was Mom and our mousekeeper, Sun Cha. Sun Cha and Mom had a very nice visit and Sun Cha had given Mom a back rub!!!:goodvibes

Sun Cha was so touched by my relationship with my Mom that she did all kinds of things to make our week memorable. We got a fabulous collection of towel animals!
I even dedicated a page in my memory book to Sun Cha.:)

Now that brought tears to my eyes. :goodvibes
 TC.
And God Bless Sun Cha.

I have several.
One is from when I was 16 and was visiting WDW for the first time. My brother, sister and I were holding hands walking down Main Street USA and just oohing and aahing.

Another is from our most recent visit with DS for the first time. He was SO excited to go, as I was I. By the time we made it to Mickey's Judging Tent that first night, he was beyond exhausted. But he didn't really complain too much and rallied when we finally got to see Mickey. You can see on his face that he is totally EXHAUSTED but grinning from ear to ear.:thumbsup2

on our honeymoon, seeing spectromagic for the first time.

Mikeeee

I have many but one that really sticks out is my son and his band marching at MK. That was such a fun trip!!! (and we even stayed offsite!!!!! :teeth: )

I have a few. My first is riding Soarin' with my cousins back in either '06 or '07. I was feeling all cool, pointing out all of the hidden Mickeys and random trivia I knew about the ride. The man sitting to my left told us to watch the golf ball... Greatest Soarin' ride ever.

My second favorite memory would be what happened on the last trip. (July - August '08.) My dad and I went to EMH at MGM/DHS in the morning. My mom hates the park, so she went to EPCOT instead because she wanted to ride Soarin'. She told me she'd get me a FP, but I thought she was joking. Around 1ish in the afternoon, my dad and I got back to the Beach Club, where we were staying. My mom handed me the fastpass and said, "Go have fun."

I spent about an hour in my favorite theme park, riding my favorite ride and just walking around.

Like others, I have so many memories from trips with my daughter. But I think my most favorite memories are from our last trip last December. We took my dad with us for the first time. On our first night we watched Spectromagic and all of a sudden I looked at my (then 69 year old!) father waving and screaming "Hi Mickey" during the parade. I still tear up when I think of it!

Later on that week, we went to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. It happened to also be the 6th anniversary of the day my mom died. After the amazing "Holiday Wishes" fireworks, my dad turned to me and said "well, I still think you are obsessed with Disney, but at least now I understand why!"
Those were words straight to my heart!

For myself, it was 14 years ago. We were staying at the Wilderness Lodge back when they had Chip and Dale at Artist's Point. I went to the lobby for something and when I got on the elevator no one was on it but me and Chip. Made my day even if I was an adult!!!!!:goodvibes

I have only been to Disney 4 times but I have made some incredible memories there.

When I was 9 I performed with my dance company in Epcot. I loved dancing on that stage entertaining disney guests.

When I was 17 I went on my first trip without adult supervision to WDW with my friends to celebrate graduation. I remember shopping with my best friend for a souvenir to decorate our dorm room. It was great!

I celebrated my 19th birthday in WDW with my family, in between semesters. It was an amazing trip! I particularly remember walking the grounds of Port Orleans and just taking it all in. I loved that resort.

My best memories have been made in the moments with my sister- we had so much fun!

The very first time I visited WDW was in February 1974 (oops, showing my age a bit). The only park open at that time was MK. I wasn't all that thrilled with it at that time, but when I returned in the early 90's, with my kids, it was a whole other story. By that time, they had Epcot and HS (MGM), I believe. That's when I really became more interested in WDW, when I took my kids and they loved it, and we had many happy times traveling there, as a family, over the years. I think that's part of the reason I love it today, is because it brings back so many good family memories.

My daughter around 8 years old wearing her t-shirt with a photo of her and Dopey together on it(taken the year before). We were watching the parade and it stopped in front of us and Dopey picked her to dance with him--great pictures I tell you--she was so excited as was Dopey as he kept pointing to her shirt and then to himself. I was pretty excited too!!!!!

I'm teary eyed reading all your stories. DH and I took DGD and DGS in 2003 and the amazment in the castle and the characters were priceless. Keep your stories coming. Love the memories.

My favorite memories of Disney are from when my mom took us in the 70's. I remember entering Main Street in the MK and being totally overwhelmed! It was so awesome! My brother and I had a blast in the Penny Arcade. We bought magic tricks at one of the stores, although I can't remember the name of it.

We stayed at the Polynesian, and every single day we went to the Barefoot Bar that was located by the pool and had the best cheeseburgers for lunch!

Then, I remember that my mom let me and my brother take the monorail by ourselves over to the Contemporary to play in the Arcade. LOL, she probably just needed a break! ;)

I have dozens, maybe hundreds, of favorite memories.

The first has to be from my first trip to WDW back in 1986. We went to Epcot as soon as we arrived and as we were walking in with the music playing from the trees and bushes I was hooked on the magic. That was followed minutes later on our first ride, the original "Journey into Imagination."

A more recent favorite memory is from May of 2006 when The Villages Concert Band played at Epcot. That's when the photo of me below was taken.
