Obviously, GGD are my favorites, but...

- Barenaked Ladies - awesome, fun shows!
- Aerosmith - love them, see them as much as possible
- Bon Jovi - always fun
- Billy Joel - see him whenever I can
- Elton John - ditto!

And one I didn't expect to like that much was Prince! DH is a huge Prince fan, so we went the last time he toured. OMG! I was totally blown away - I think I enjoyed the show even more than DH did.

DH and I used to go to concerts all the time, not so much anymore since I sustained some minor hearing damage in my right ear from too many live shows!

My favorite band to see in concert is by far U2. We've seen them at least 30 times, in different areas of the country, but always in a great spot (in the ellipse, in the heart, front floor seats etc.). There aren't too many bands I will chance suffering more hearing damage from, but U2 is one of them.

Non-rock, I really love Diana Krall live.

To the OP, I agree Janet puts on a great show. I also have some GREAT memories of Steve Miller concerts when I was in high school. We all went every summer and had such a blast! Ahh...memories!

I remember my N.K.O.T.B concert as well! I could barely see them we were so far away, but gosh at the time, I thought it was the coolest thing in my life!

I think we're the same age - I forgot about Steve Miller concerts in high school !! When I was 15 that's the first concert I ever went to and then we followed him into college. And NKOTB, saw them 3 times. You must be in your early 30's ??

And to the BNL fans, I have no idea why I forgot to mention them, I have Buffett on my brain. I've been to 6 BNL concerts and I agree every one of them is great.

Get a pair of custom made musicians ear plugs--any audiologist can make them for you for $75. You can choose how many Db you want them to cut--mine are 27 I think. They attenuate sound over all frequencies so it's not the muffled sound of foamies, but a true, crystal clear sound at a lower volume.

Elvis? Uncle Remus--You ROCK! :thumbsup2
This thread has been fun...
Saw Def Leppard in the early '80's--had serious hearing loss for two days after that one. Would NOT consider it a favorite! :teeth:
Saw the Police Synchronicity tour twice--definitely up there in terms of favs.
Also saw Dixie Chicks twice--in 2003 and again last week. Both were excellent, but preferred 2003 concert.
Genesis in the early '80's was good. So was Todd Rundgren.
Worst concert? Easily Hillary Duff a couple years ago (took my DD.) The non-stop screech of preteens wore me out! :sunny:

Without any question - The Boss, Bruce Springsteen!

Roy Orbison and Carl Perkins at the Front Row Theater in Cleveland. The Front Row was a theater-in-the-round venue. I sat in the front row and could have easily reached out and touched the performers.

Come to think of it, most of my favorite concerts were at the Front Row. Too bad they tore the place down. And now that I think about it, they tore down two other places I've been to for concerts. Yikes. Look out Blossom Music Center. You're the only venue left in Cleveland that I've been to that hasn't been bulldozed.

Not quite 30 yet, Don't push it! ;) Fixin' to turn 29.

I'd love to see Buffett in concert. I'm a big fan. Just never coughed up the dough it takes to actually get seats.

You saw Live Aid???

I love you... :worship: What I would have given to have been there...

I did, however, spend the entire day in front of the TV. My grandfather was not happy with me.

Queen gave an awesome concert way back in the '70s, :thumbsup2
Oh, I would have loved to see Queen live. Freddie Mercury, what a powerful voice!

I saw The Band live for $5 at Milwaukee's big outdoor music festival a long time ago. It was something like their second- or third-last stop on their farewell tour. They played for close to 4 hours, and it was an amazing show.

Well, I did think of one I went to just a few years ago and it was NOT that good...Bonnie Raitt. Can you believe it? I was really disappointed.

And to those posters who are in their 30's, omg, if I was in my 30's again!
Course, I wouldn't be as wise as I am now and more important, I wouldn't have the $$$ I have now. :rotfl2:

When I was much younger, I saw Leslie Gore and Jackie Wilson, do y'all kids in your 30's know them? :rotfl: Saw them in nightclub atmospheres, really nice. And sat AT the table with one club owner who's club was called Papa's Brand New Bag (hint: it was in Augusta, GA), guess who?

Hmmm... Could it be "Soul Brother Number One," "Mr. Dynamite," "The Hardest-Working Man in Show Business?"

I saw James Brown several times in the late 60's and those were some great shows. I actually DID break out... in a cooold sweat!

But my favorite without a doubt and I will never miss is Jimmy Buffett.

Got to agree. A Jimmy Buffett concert is ALWAYS a good time.

My ultimate favorite though is Paul McCartney.

Gloria Estefan was a great time also. I wish she still toured.

Back in my younger days, Earth, Wind, and Fire!

Absolute favorite was Eric Clapton's "Behind the Sun" tour...saw it 2 times. I've seen him about 7 or 8 times but this was the best.

Another favorite was David Johansen. I don't remember the year but it was after the New York Dolls and WAY before Buster Poindexter.

I wish that I'd saved all of my ticket stubs. It would be neat to look back now. I'm sure I've forgotten about more than a few.

I figured you would know it :teeth: . Remember the band Spirit? I also remember listening to a band called The Fugs. I saw Paul McCartney in 1976, the Wings over America tour, Linda played the keyboards.

Two other groups I loved seeing were Steppenwolf and NRBQ.

Wow I love Spirit! I used to listen to "Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus" over and over and over!!

I'm going to have to buy the CD now. Or maybe i still have the album somewhere..........
