This is really, really tough. I'll try to keep my list down to a dozen or so. :goodvibes

Nickel Creek, 2006. (Saw them at House of Blues in Orlando a couple of years ago and thought Chris Thiele was an arrogant little twerp of a musical genius--the last 15 minutes of the concert was completely unamplified, on purpose, so maybe 20% of the audience could hear it, and the rest of us were left concert-less. Then Thiele had the gall to make fun of the audience on stage by whining "I can't he-e-e-ar them" when people complained. His I'm-a-big-rock-star behavior was under better control in 2006. I do love Nickel Creek's music and their 2006 concert was brilliant.)

Natalie McMaster 2006--just plain fun, with her fiddlin' and step dancing. Not really my favorite kind of music but, oh, what an entertainer!

The Mandolin Madness concert at the Savannah Music Festival in 2005--Mike Marshall was outstanding!

Del McCoury Band, 2005.

Miles Davis at the Jacksonville Jazz Festival, circa 1990.

Harry Connick Jr circa 1990 --another just plain fun concert.

John Mayall, circa 1988 (he was playing at a little blues club in Jacksonville, and the first show was so good that we stayed for the 2nd).

Gordon Lightfoot, circa 1988.

John Lee Hooker circa 1988

Grateful Dead, 1970s.

Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee in the 1970s.

Bob Dylan, 1970s.

I forgot to mention, the Backstreet Boys always put on a good show :) I've seen them 4 times and there was never a dull moment

Hmm.. I forgot Neil Diamond!.. my first Neil concert was my mom's 12th Neil concert.. his shows are just fun

I also saw Cher's most recent tour.. It was interesting.. and I had fun :)

I'm so jealous of who some of you got to see! I am at the jurisdiction of where my mom is willing to drive me and who she wants to see.. hopefully Bon Jovi, Paul McCartney, and U2 come my way soon!

Another favorite was David Johansen. I don't remember the year but it was after the New York Dolls and WAY before Buster Poindexter.

82 or 83

U2, May 28, 2005 in Boston! We were in the ellipse and oh so close to them and they sounded great! They were definitely on that night!

Well, I did think of one I went to just a few years ago and it was NOT that good...Bonnie Raitt. Can you believe it? I was really disappointed.

And to those posters who are in their 30's, omg, if I was in my 30's again
!
Course, I wouldn't be as wise as I am now and more important, I wouldn't have the $$$ I have now. :rotfl2:

When I was much younger, I saw Leslie Gore and Jackie Wilson, do y'all kids in your 30's know them? :rotfl: Saw them in nightclub atmospheres, really nice. And sat AT the table with one club owner who's club was called Papa's Brand New Bag (hint: it was in Augusta, GA), guess who?

I'm 46, 7 years younger than my husband. I keep teasing him when I see him at work with so many of the guys he started working with way back when. It looks like an AARP meeting :rotfl2: !

A tie between Garth Brooks and Bruce Springsteen "Born in the USA" tour

but my favorite was David Bowie's Sound + Vision Tour in the early ninties. Love the Thin White Duke!!

I saw him on this tour in Foxboro Mass. It was fantastic! I agree that it was one of my favorites along with one of the Grateful Dead shows.

Well... i have a top 5...
Duran Duran in 1987 (very first concert I ever went to)
Grateful Dead in 1989
KISS reunion tour in 1996 ?
Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Gretchen Wilson, Uncle Kracker 2005
Kenny Chsney, Gretchen Wilson, Big and Rich 2006

I have been to many many others...but those are probably the most memorable. Too hard to pick a FAVORITE

Elvis? Uncle Remus--You ROCK! :thumbsup2
This thread has been fun...
Saw Def Leppard in the early '80's--had serious hearing loss for two days after that one. Would NOT consider it a favorite! :teeth:
Saw the Police Synchronicity tour twice--definitely up there in terms of favs.
Also saw Dixie Chicks twice--in 2003 and again last week. Both were excellent, but preferred 2003 concert.
Genesis in the early '80's was good. So was Todd Rundgren.
Worst concert? Easily Hillary Duff a couple years ago (took my DD.) The non-stop screech of preteens wore me out! :sunny:

The Police Sychronicity tour is my favorite of all times.
I also enjoyed seeing the Pixies 2 years ago.

And I took my DD to the Hillary Duff concert too.

Berlin Philharmonic, 1988, James Levine conducting Beethoven's 7th Symphony at Orchestra Hall in Chicago! :charac2:

The best: BON JOVI without a doubt!

Close runner up: Barry Manilow.

Yep, I like all kinds of music. Going to see John Tesh next week.

Hmmm... Could it be "Soul Brother Number One," "Mr. Dynamite," "The Hardest-Working Man in Show Business?"

I saw James Brown several times in the late 60's and those were some great shows. I actually DID break out... in a cooold sweat!
:thumbsup2 :dancer:

It sure was a long time ago, but seems like just yesterday :rotfl:

One post said Eric Clapton and I thought oh he!!, I forgot about
seeing Cream and getting that guitar pick off the stage,
the one Eric Clapton dropped.

Once again, I gotta thank everybody for the stroll down memory lane,

especially you, crazyme5kids!

I've seen a few, KISS Aerosmith, some other bands from the 80's or whatever. I think the best concert was Yanni. It was an open air theatre in St. Louis MO and it was a nice summer night and if you know his music, it was wonderful! I really like seeing Cirque Du Soleil too, if you consider that a concert sort of show, Varekai in Chicago was awesome

DH is out playing roadie tonight. One of the bands he worked for years ago is doing a reunion show and they asked him to come and LD. He's going to donate his pay to the charity the concert is a benefit for, he wanted to do it for the fun of it!

Eric Clapton in the late 80's when that Crossroads boxed set came out- that was sooo awesome. There's nothing like hearing "Layla" live!

I saw the Who in the 90's and in 2003 or 2004- they always put on a great show- such a big sound!

Jimmy Buffett is always a good show, even if you never listen to his CDs you'll enjoy his shows.

Tina Turner- saw her in the late 80's or 1990- I could not believe how one person could have so much energy!

Recently I saw Pat Benetar and she looks and sounds like she did in 1982. She really rocked!

The worst for me was the Dave Matthews Band- I only went because my BF at the time was into the DMB, I was not into them. I only knew a few songs and I was bored senseless.

The Eagles 1976
America
Elton John 1977
Flying Burrito Brothers
Bob Dylan 197vntysomethin
Led Zepplin 1977
Bonnie Raitt
Jimmy Buffett starting with before he had a band
Heart
Paul McCartney
Roger McGuinn
Bruce Springstein
Natalie Merchant
:rotfl: couldn't pick just one, so I named some favorites :rotfl:
