Favorite Childhood TV Commercials

The one I like to sing that no one ever seems to remember is

Nivea, Nivea, Nivea!
From your fingers to your toes,
you've got just one set of permanant clothes...

all sung by a family dressed only in towels.

The game of life (I remember there was a commercial, but can't quite remember how it went)

I remember the jingle for this:

The game of LIFE
The gaaaaaaaame of life
You learn about life
When you play the game of liiife

Here are two of my faves:

"Oh here come Crispy Critters. A good, wholesome bunch! A low sugar cereal... With lots of crrrunch!"

and

"My Puppy Puddles, you can watch him drink his water. My Puppy Puddles only puddles where he oughter." (Yep, I HAD to have that Puppy Puddles!)

Now I have 4 dogs, so I guess this is my punishment for making my Mom get me a Puppy Puddles. :rotfl:

Hot Dogs!!! Armour Hot Dogs!!!

Big Kids, Little Kids... Kids who climb on rocks...

Me too!! and
" It's not nice to fool mother nature"
"Imperial magarine ta ta taaa,it's fit for a king."
"I can't believe I ate the whole thing!"
"Plop, plop, fizz, fizz,oh what a relief it is!"
"Who'll be your mystery date?"

It was Fabrege Organics that made the "And she told one friend, and so on, and so on, and so on". I loved that stuff! You can still find it, but it's not the same. Same with Herbel Essence, it's not anything like the original green stuff that actually smelled like herbs. Speaking of shampoo:

Halo everybody, Halo!
Halo is the shampoo that glories your hair! ...
... So Halo everybody, Halo!

Timex, it takes a licking and keeps on ticking!

"A sprinkle a Day
Helps keep odors away
Have you had your sprinkle today"

Trix cereal: "Silly rabbit, Trix are for kids"

Cheerios cereal:

"Cheerios, energy O's
that help you grow
You get Pow, Pow, Power, with Power O's
Coming on strong with Cheerios"

Wasn't there one for Nesquick and Tang also?

Morris the Cat

Parkay

"Gee, your hair smells terrific!"

Meaty Bone -

Meaty Bones are a barking good treat
Bark if you like meat- Arrff Arff
There's a biscuit in the miiiiidle
Wrapped in meat
Bark if you like meat- Woof!

(DH and I sing this one to our collie and he looks at us like we are loons)

I like so many of the commercials already posted! Here's a few other ones I remember:

Honeycomb's big,
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's not small,
No, no, no.
Honeycomb's got
A big, big taste.

Everything's better with Blue Bonnet on it!

Disneyland...open Wednesday through Sunday

The original hits! The original stars! (K-Tel)

Hey, you got your chocolate in my peanut butter. Hey, you got your peanut butter in my chocolate.

I was always bitter that when I tried dipping a chunk of a Hershey bar into a jar of peanut butter, it was never quite as good as I thought it'd be.

Me, too!

But you know what I just found out is good? Those little mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, dipped in Skippy! We had some left over from Halloween, and I tried it, and mmmmm! Sinalicious!

Everyone has mentioned everything I can think of. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.

Mystery Date  My favorite all time game! (A nostalgia game web site wanted $75 for it last year.) And, I never could figure out why my mom laughed at me swinging a dish towel around the round singing, "I'm a woman! Enjoli!" Maybe 'cuz I was 9?

Gotta try the Reese pb cup dipped in Skippy. Now to find the kids' Halloween candy...

This may sound silly, but it stuck with me all these years.

Farmer Jacks is worth going out your way for
You get more than you bargain for
Ba da
Ba da
Ba dop

It was a catchy little tune. :cool1:

Wait, a couple more have come to me:

"Fresh and (whistle the sound when you see an actrive woman) Clean as a Whistle"

and

Mrs. Buttersworth talking to that little girl.

and

"What do you call a kid who can hit like that? You call that kid a CrackerJack, and what do you call a snack with a secret toy surprise in the pack, with peanuts and popcorn to make your lips smack? You call that snack a crackerjack!"

And Mr. Peanut talking about peanuts (or something like that)

"It's finger lickin' good!" Kentucky Fried Chicken.

The Mean Joe Green Coca-Cola one

Honeycomb's big, yeah yeah yeah. It's not small, no no no. Honeycomb's got a big, big taste. Big, big taste in a big, big bite.

"Where's the Beef?"

I can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan, and never, no never let you forget you're a man. Cause I'm a WOman - Enjoli!

Hold the pickle, hold the lettuce. Special orders don't upset us. All we ask is that you let us "have it your way." Have it YOUR WAY at Burger King...

The nightime, sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, stuffy head, fever, so you can rest medicine.

I always like the Hams beer commercials with the polar bear.

I always liked the PSA's that were ever so popular during the 80s and 90s.

The marijuana one where the dad catches the son with it and the son busts out with " I LEARNED IT FROM WATCHING YOU!"

also the hepatitis PSA that had the catchy tune "Wash your hands after going to the bathroom, wash your hands after changing babies diapers....."

I liked the Coke "I'd like to teach the world to sing" too. I just like singing along with commercials. Nobody has jingles now. :sad2:

I loved that song so much my parents bought me a little orphan annie & sandy music box that played it (don't know what the connection was) I got $150 for it on eBay (the only one like it listed... I probably could have gotten more as I listed it as a BIN!)
