Favorite baby names

My cousin and his wife recently had a little boy they named Jackson Thomas and call him JT - I am loving the name Jackson.

I also love Lilly for a little girl.

Our new nephew is going to be Alex - I love that too - just a good basic boy name.

Also like Anthony and Clark for boys.

I have a friend that is Jayne, with a y and she is one of the most interesting people I know - always has been.

My girls are Brittany, Cassidy, and Ashleigh; if we have another I am leaning towards Alexandra (we will call her Lexi).

For boys I like Brandon, Christopher, and Adam. I guess for some reason I'm partial to names beginning with A, B, and C.

For boys I like:
 Wyatt Alexander
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the name Wyatt. For a special reason of course, but I love it. I would probably pick a different middle name like Lee (my dad's middle name) or something like that. Also I have this thing about names where you would call them something shorter. Example: Joseph (Joe or Joey) I would just go ahead and name the kid one of the shorter ones because I think it's silly to name them a long name if you are going to call them something shorter, but thats just me. BTW: I can see naming them something longer if you were naming them after someone but then again it just depends. I'm picky...

I like the name Jordian but it's a unisex name.

We're planning on naming our expecting boy Tyler Jordan

For boys I always loved Chris or Chase something with the CH sound at the begining

Girls I always wanted Lyric or Lyra, something like that.

Ok - I am printing off this thread to go through with my dh! :teeth:

My dd11's name is Alexandria Katrina - she likes to be called Ali :)

I really loved the name Mackenzie but it would have made DD's name way too long so I decided to make it her middle name. Most people just use their initial anyway.

DD = Kayla Mackenzie (also liked Kayla Nichole)

If we had a boy, the name would have been = Brendon Owen
(his initials would have been BOW and DH, a hunter, loved that. I told him the name before I realized what the initials spelled.) He still loved that name !!!

My son's name is Michael. I also like Jack or Jackson. If he had been a girl, we would have gone with Emily Elizabeth.

My nieces and nephews are Timothy Ryan, Robert Anthony, Lauren Christina and Kelly Renee

My grandnieces are: Alexandra Jane, Abigail Grace and Taylor Morgan. I like all of these names as well.

Good Luck!

My kids names are:

Ian Scott 26
Adam Dean 24
Bernadette Elizabeth 21 (after my Mother)

Sarah
Haylee

nephews:

2 of my names I never got to use since I stopped at 3

Alex
Jenna

If I have a daughter her name will be Katherine. My husband likes Paige as a middle name. If I have another son I like the names

Carter
Finley
Eion
Drake
Blake
Henry
Harrison

I'm leaning toward Carter.

If I ever have a boy, I will name him Erik. :goodvibes

Girl names I like are Anastasia, April, Samantha and Elizabeth.

DD4's name is Morgan Rebecca. I was never a fan of popular or trendy names, but her father named her. ;)

Here are some names that are in my family since I can't think of too many off the top of my head:

Nicholas
Anthony
Alan
Derek

Tessa
Dena
Markie
Susan
Sabrina

Hi,

Carter is my grand nephew's name (son of youngest nephew Josh, he's four months old).

My paternal grandmother's name was Amy. Her kids were Edith, James (my dad), Thomas, Marilyn, Evelyn and Wilma.

A woman in my work unit is named Bernadette. I gave her a nickname, though, and she'll only answer me if I call her the nickname. Her real name, pronounced "burn a debt", inspired me to call her Tal, short for "torch a liability". She likes it.

Jim

My 3 girls are
Angelina nicole
Haley Corissa
Sydney Briana

Nieces
Taylor Monet
Noelle Monique
Gabrielle Alexis

for a boy: Octavius, Jadovan, Sharnobli, Kent, Thaglius, Shecky, Kingobulae, Monark, Corey, Stanforth, or Jimi.

All girls should be named Jillian or Emily.

Here's a word from my DD 10 on this subject (who happens to have a reasonably popular name)....

"Kids like names that you can find on a toothbrush in Walmart!"

.....

Whenever we go to a place that has stuff with names printed on it (as in Disney too!) she loves to run up and find her name. I can see it in her face that she feels validated to have a name that is worthy of being on a pin, pen or toothbrush!

When friends of ours recently named their son 'Jet' her first comment was 'Well... you won't find THAT on a mug now, will you!!'

I'm with her!! :)

We know we are having another boy, so we like Dean, Dane or Devon. Our other boys are Connor, Aaron and Brett...get it a, b, c, d!

Wow -- just like the hurricanes, LOL!

We liked short names on boys (that aren't too readily abbriviated into something else.) Because see, I liked Matthew -- but not Matt. Loved Patrick -- but not Pat. SO we liked Evan and Ryan well enough to use them for our two boys (Richard Evan, Ryan Logan). We also like names that pretty much tell ya what the gender is, haha, although honestly, we were cuttin' it close with Ryan Logan since 2 friends have named their dds "Ryan" and I have heard of girl "Logans", too. If tomorrow I had to name a baby boy, I'd consider Ethan, Nathan, Ian or Owen... what can I say, I love those 2 syllable names!

For girls, we had chosen Anna or Hannah Elizabeht... and then when we actually became pg with a girl (after 2 boys) our son (age 4) named her for us! He was a VERY early reader (like age 2 for simple words, age 3 he could read the kiddie books, etc.) We found him with the baby name book, and he decided he was having a sister and her name would be Caroline -- end of story. I'm not sure what amazed me more -- that he was right (about it being a girl) or that he picked such a pretty name! And so Caroline it was (Caroline Blair).

Looking at girls' names now, I like Olivia, Lauren, Kathleen, Eleanor, Elise, Colleen... DH likes my middle name (Eileen) for a girl but I still recall hearing some stupid knock knock joke as a kid and got turned off on it (something like, WHo's there -- Eileen -- Eileen Who? "I lean over and you can kiss my...." :sad2: No thanks.)

I went to school with lots of girls who had last names for first names or middle names. LIke Mary Carter SoandSo, or Jane Phelps SuchandSuch, or Ann Riley YadaYada... and they went by the first AND middle name together, not just one name. It's a southern thing, I guess.

One thing to avoid -- don't go the "and we'll call her by her middle name" route. Did that with my 1st son -- PITA since everyone looks only at his first name! Lots of forms for school, etc. only give a space for one initial for middle name -- just messes with your mind, I swear!

Strangest name I ever heard for a girl? Hands down -- Godzilla.

She was in my elementary school and all the way up through high school (although by then, she just went by "Zilla". Zilla, if you're out there, I'm sorry, but even you have to admit -- your mother did you no favors with that name.) I often have to show folks my school yearbooks to prove I'm tellin' the truth!

So aside from THAT name, pick something you like! :goodvibes
