I'm sure you'll get some great ideas here. Personally, I'm partial to classic names that are nice for babies but will still be appropriate for an adult. Some names, as cute as they are, just strike me as "kid" names.

As someone that grew up with a weird spelling, my kids have traditional spellings for their names. I'm so sick of having to spell my name for everyone (and sometimes even pronounce it for them). Just my opinion.

That's MY name (except mine is spelled Lorrie)!!!

I personally love that name (I would like it even if it weren't my name), but you just don't see many girls named that anymore.
:confused3

OK I read thru the whole thing and did not see this name for a girl -- Brenna

my dd's name and her sister is Erin. You will see Erin thru out the years but it is never over used. IMHO I enjoy being able to buy Erin pens, pencils, notepads, ect. with her name on them. I could never find my "correct" spelling for my own name as a kid. I can now but it was more important way back when. I doubt I will ever be able to find items for the baby Brenna :confused3

I have to agree with the posters that had trouble as a kid (or adult) with spelling problems on a name. I don't care for very trendy or unusual spellings. Love a classic name-- especially for the boys :cool1: Life can be hard for a kid with a "funny" name :rotfl: But beware the name Michael!!! They are rumoured to be very bad boys or a little weird! I know, I married one! :rotfl2: And he's both!

Best of Luck to all the ladys in waiting princess:

DS is Lukas Mikael (pronounced McKale) had he been a girl he would have been Michaela Renae.

DD #1 is Isabelle (Belle) Rhainnon we never bothered debating boys names for her. We did debate on Claire or Chloe for her though.

DD #2 is Amélie (Ami or Ellie) Juliette. Had she been a boy she would have been Henri Matthieu - Henri after DH's grandfather that was killed by the Nazis during WWII. We debated on naming her Juliette, but I so love Amélie! I also love Camile, Cécile (my G-GF was Cecil), Élodie, Geneviève, and Zoé.

Lots of French names :teeth:

I posted these same names awhile back...here they are with a few alterations:

For boys I like:
Wyatt Alexander
Luca William
Tristan Samuel
Jaden Michael
Logan James
Noah Charles
Caleb Edward
Zachary James
Sebastian Luke

For girls I like:
Ashlynn Julie
Amelia Grace *Mia*
Mackenzie Elizabeth
Liliana May *Lilly*
Alyssa Dannielle
Abigail Sophia
Alexis Bianca
Megan Olivia
Eleanor Drew *Nellie*

Good luck choosing names and congrats on your pregnancy! :goodvibes

My favorite girls name is Julia, naturally(my DD).
I personally find girls names that end in an A more lyrical and feminine than their counterparts
i.e Julia instead of Julie, Isabella instead of Isabelle, Gabriella instead of Gabrielle.. just a thought.

I also like

Girls:
Paige
Julianna
Emma
Grace(for a middle)
Caitlin(though it's so popular I still love it, though really only spelled this way)
Ashlyn(so not me-I usually don't like non classic names, but I love this)
Brynn(see above)
Ava
Caroline(with a long "i"!)

Boys:
Jacob(Jake)
Caleb
Cole
Matthew
Joseph
Christian
Christopher
Ryan
Luke
Owen(I know, I know, OWEN-but I can't help myself from liking it)
Daniel
Alex(ander)

I have a Connor and Delaney...which I love both of those names.
We have had a REALLY hard time this time around.

I just wanted to say that, when I was growing up my name was really unusual (not so much anymore), and I LOVED it! I liked that there were not 4 other kids with my name in my class or school. It just seems everyone always says dont name your child an unusual name...I say why not????? Why do you want to go to school and have 50 other kids with your childs name? And yes people did always mispronounce my name and stick an R in there and call me Marcy....but I just corrected them and moved on!!
Ok I will get off my soap box now!! He hee!

Names I like:
GIRL:

Shayley
Tierney
Cassidy
Brynn
Kiera
Berkley
Tatum

BOY:
Spencer

That being said we are not going with any of the names listed for this child b/c my huband doesnt agree with me! LOL! My one criteria was it could not be in the top 100 on the social security website!

GOOD LUCK!! AND CONGRATS!!!

Good luck picking one out! I am just about 36 weeks pregnant and still haven't decided between Jacob and Luke. I posted a poll on the DIS to help me out, and wouldn't you know it, the results were just about 50/50!!!!

Names I like:

Boy
Caleb
Noah
Darin

girl
Sarah
Kaylie
