Fav resorts w 3 small kids...

We haven't done any values- so I can't speak to that. This is not because I am not interested- but with a double stroller and little people with us- I have come to the realization that proximity is critical to us- this helps avoid meltdowns, heat, crowds, over sensory overload. Also, for us (we have similar ages) the splash pad and pool are important as well.

For your kiddos- I would enjoy the following:

Moderate: POFQ/POR
Deluxe: Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Animal Kingdom Lodge
(out of the Epcot resorts we enjoy the Boardwalk Inn- but only in the cooler months bc there is no splash pad. BC/YC the pool area is a little too chaotic for our kids).

We've only done values so I can't comment on the moderates or deluxes but I like the All-Star Resorts for their small size (easy walk to most amenities) and price.

Other benefits are that you can use the pool at any of three if you're staying at one of them and when leaving the parks, especially at park close when everyone is trying to get back to their resort at once, just get in line for the All-Star bus with the shortest line and walk to your room from that drop off point.

Another tip...if you want a preferred room location but don't want to pay the preferred room price, stay at All-Star Movies in the Mighty Ducks section (has it's own pool and laundry facilities) and just cross the road to the All-Star Music section to use their food court and bus pick-up. Easy peasy.

I'm in the same camp as @got15. With the kiddos I prefer location, location, location, which to date has led us to mainly prefer the MK monorail resorts. This may vary depending on your style, but it's really hard to beat the convenience of the monorail.

Good pools and splash pads are also high on our list. Poly and GF are our general favorites in that regard. CR is somewhere in the mix too although is not our favorite pool.

Poly is probably our overall favorite.

We adore the beach club now that our kids are 10, 11, and 14 - but when they were a bit younger it was always POR. It is still one of their favorite places!

With those ages, I would want space! I would pick a family suite. We liked AOA. The pool is great and I thought the bus service was very efficient.

I would also look at the Swan/Dolphin because it's cheaper than a deluxe and they have family rooms with more space. It has easy access to two parks. My kids love the character breakfast here on the weekends!

For our mod, it will be POR and we prefer either Beach Club or Yacht Club for their wonderful pool and easy access to Epcot and DHS.

We've stayed at a value resort for one night (Pop) and never again.

We are mod people as a whole

I wouldn't even attemp value unless it was AOA suite. Stroller and space is the number one issue.
Mods we like cbr best mostly for the pool
Deluxe we like cr for the ease of walking but poly is sweet too. When they are a little older, boardwalk is fun

Pop century - fun for kids and adults - have some nice play areas.
POR - again fun for both

If you are going mostly to the MK - then BLT or CR - they are NOT kid friendly but being able to walk MK and ride the monorail to EPcot (when it works) are definitely pluses.

most of the Mk resorts are not that kid friendly - it has only been a few years since WDW put play areas in them.

would say BWV because of the kids ages - then you can walk or boat to Epcot and Studios (DHS)

If you will be opposed in the future to booking 2 rooms you may want to consider AK Lodge or Wilderness Lodge. Those have an occupancy max of 4 plus one under 3.

If you want space and condo type facilities plus onsite you may want DVC units.

Our preference at that age was CR or GF. Have never stayed value or mod so nothing to add on those.

I cannot speak to the values because I have never stayed in one, but for Moderates I like POFQ. I love the pool there, but if you needed a little more space I would suggest POR. It is also a lovely resort.

I think for a Deluxe I would choose either the Poly or the Grand. Both have lovely grounds that the children can enjoy, and both offer easy access to MK and Epcot via the monorail. I really love the SPalsh Pad at teh Grand for little ones, and honestly, the lobby is a treat all on it's own. My girls love to dance in the "ballroom" to the music of the Grand Pianist
