Great we should just let me know what time will work for everyone we are going to the expo that am.

We will be going to the expo as well.
I will be getting up at the crack of dawn anyway since we'll have the kiddies with us. We were planning on having breakfast at the Boardwalk before heading out to the expo so I'm flexible. How's 9ish?

We are leaving on Spirit Airlines on the 620pm(?) flight out of DTW. How crazy would it be if we were on the same plane!

I thought I'd let the FGWC know that Team 'Ohana is inviting their WISH family to come visit its thread on Mondays. We thought this would be a good way for people on the teams/threads to get to know other WISHers better. Plus, 'Ohana like to think we know how to throw a party and we always like new guests! Do you have any good hotel recommendations near DTW? I'm looking for one with a parking deal since they raised the prices on the Big Blue Deck from 9 a day to 16 a day!
 
I think this is the group for me. I'm very confused by what threads to post in for what. I'm making plans to officially enroll for the Disney World half in 2010. I weigh about 278 so I'll be working on weight loss while training too. I have started run/walk program in the past but weighed a lot less then. I loved it and I dunno why I stopped. I guess life got in way and my priorities changed or whatever. But I'm ready to make me first. I moved back to central Florida Jan 3rd and I'm getting settled. Found work finally so I can get moved out of the parent's house. It was hard to live with family again when my hubby and I split up for 2nd and final time in April 2007 I didn't have much choice. Was helping my mom out for long while though.

We (my Dsis Amanda and I) want to do the Disney Marathon in 2010 also. I started at 353 lbs and now I'm at 280. So I know what you are going through.

I'm sure the rest of the girls will be along soon to welcome you

Welcome.:flower3: I have been battling the weight roller coaster for years. I've recently discovered this thread and have found so much support from the ladies here.:grouphug: I will be doing my first 5K at Disney in about 2 weeks and am very excited.:yay:

I just noticed in your siggy that you have a Nikon D80! We JUST got a D90 for our trip!! We are so excited but still kinda clueless on how to use it! I keep it on auto buy DH uses some of the other modes! He is a bit more adventurous than I!

I'm so glad that I have found this group. I plan to sign up for the WDW half marathon tomorrow and I am really nervous. I weigh about 290 pounds. I have been loosing weight slowly and steadily over the last year or so and have lost around 40 pounds. I completed the Minnie 5k in 2008. I am so glad to have other fat girls to chat with about this!

Has anyone else noticed that the final instructions for the 5K are really blurry??

Maybe it is just me.
 
Okay...so I signed up for the half marathon yesterday and literally woke up with panic attacks three times during the early am. Also, I couldn't sleep last night because of worrying.

I haven't walked much since my father was in hospice in the fall and passed away. I walked 1.5 earlier in the week and was extremely sore. Probably because I was walking with a friend who was going way too fast me. My husband and I did another 1.5 last night and it was difficult. I planned to take the day off today and walk tomorrow but the pushy friend made me walk this am and we did a leisurely 3.5 miles! It wasn't too bad. I planned on doing 2 miles then felt so good I just kept adding another lap. I am feeling less stressed now.

Any good walking plan suggestions that you have would be appreciated. I have found a few and I really like one, but can't remember where I found it.
 
I recommend "Marathon for Mortals". I found it an easy read and the training plans are easy to follow.

Congrats on getting out there. That is the first step.

We had so much fun with last week’s Monday Mixer, ‘Ohana is doing it again tomorrow! Come early, stay late, visit on any day of the week. No need to stick to the topic, either. We’re just happy to hear from our cousins and swap a tale or two over some tasty beverages. :drinking1

Tomorrow, we’re curious to find out how you pass the time on long walks/wogs/runs if you don’t listen to music and are training solo. (Or what you do in addition to/as an alternative to listening to music.) What makes the long miles less daunting and maybe even enjoyable? What do you watch for, think about, concentrate on? From the serious to silly to the surreal, we want to hear your stories.

Me, I’m pretty sure I hallucinate, but the rest of you probably have better strategies...

Hi everyone,
Not much longer now til our princess weekend. I CANNOT wait. I am so tired of the cold and the snow. Yes, more snow today to deal with here. Anyway, just a few more days and "just the girls" will be enjoying the sunshine in FL.
I have kept up with the workouts and the TM so I feel good about the upcoming 5K.

I know we talked about 9am is this still an ok time for everyone? Are we still walking or should we meet later and walk over to studios to go to the expo. Let me know what you think. I want to get everything finalized so i can put it in our schedule.
