What are the benefits of using a fast pass for a parade? Do they set you up in a special area?

Yes.

No more need for staking out a prime spot more than an hour in advance only to have some bozo try to elbow you out of the way 5 minutes before the parade starts.

That's about it.

You're welcome.:)

I was being a bit (OK a lot) tongue in cheek, but really, I don't think I'd ever "waste" one of my first 3 fast passes on a parade, unless it was really, really important for some reason. But I might use a 4th, 5th or 6th FP+ on an evening parade if it was our 2nd or 3rd day at MK. Can you tell that parades are a low priority for us???

I'm a rope drop guy, and experience all the priority attractions before lines build anyway. So I used a FP+ for the MSEP on my last trip.

I thought it was wonderful! Prime viewing right in the hub! I could get right up to the rope to take photos. The CMs were very diligent about chasing crashers out.

This was Oct 2013, when only the on site resort guests could reserve FP+. Things might have changed since then.

If you're a rope dropper like me, you might consider it if you hate having to stake out a space and defend it. I especially love the moms who think it's o.k. to walk up five minutes before the parade and shove their kids in front of me, or between my legs! I actually had one yell at me once "It's for the children!!!" I stopped doing parades because of scenes like that. But with FP+ I can enjoy parades once again!

I thought about it for the FOF parade. But, changed my mind.

On our DHS day, I did use a FP for F!

We used FP+ for the FoF parade twice on our recent trip. We really enjoyed it.

For us the advantages were
- not a crowded location
- fairly easy to get an excellent place/ view
- pictures with the castle in the background are always wonderful.

major disadvantage was - you were standing in the hot sun (no shade)

It was great not to have to fend off tons of people and line up ages in advance. We loved the FP+ for the parade and will book it again on our next trip.

we used it for the 9pm show of MSEP on our first Mk day, and definitely did NOT think it was a wasted fp... especially in season.. we loved it, and would absolutely book it again.. stayed in same spot for the projection show and wishes.. some people think it is to close for those, but we thought it was a great view.

In season I would not count on any fp+ for this as an extra fp either from our experience last week. The exception being possibly the late show of MSEP which you don't need one for to begin with.. plenty of space to see that show.

It was wonderful to walk up 15-20min before the show and get a front row spot.

I used FP+ for the FoF parade on our arrival day...June 1. It was the only day dh would be able to see it, so figured it would be great to have a good spot. We arrived at 2:35, as it said to. We got a great spot....facing just to the right of the Castle, towards Cosmic Rays. My dd was so excited...all her shots would have the Castle right there, behind. Well, at 2:55, they made an announcement that due to weather, the parade was being cancelled. I completely understand that they certainly don't want the parade halfway done when the skies open. But...it would be nice to be given a replacement FP for another day. Nope, but you can go to a kiosk and get a FP+ for Jungle Cruise!!!

dd and I did finally watch the parade, on Main St,, in front of the Emporium. I was fried after 90 mins in the sun!!!

I plan on using one for FOF on our arrival day. MK closes at 7 (MNSSHP) and we won't be arriving until around 1:00. We will be getting up at 4am to leave for the airport so I figure we will prob only spend a couple of hours in the park anyway. I'm hoping to knock A&E and FOF off my list on the first day. We are going in early Sept AND its a party day so I'm hoping the ride lines will be relatively short (and if not, no big deal...we have two more MK days scheduled) :cool1:

Wait wait....you get more FP+ after the first 3 are used? I also saw somewhere that people with MBs and FP+ got regular FP slips too, is that correct?

Looks like there might have been changes since we went in January

At the moment you can get additional FPP after you've used your first three. You have to be in a park to do it but not necessarily the same park you used your first three in. You can only do it at a kiosk in the park for the park you are in, not off the phone app. There are no paper FP left anywhere. A cast member at MK told me you would eventually be able to get your fourth and subsequent FPP off the mobile app once they are happy with how the whole system works.

Excellent! We aren't park hoppers so we don't have to worry.

This is exciting! And makes everything less stressful once you are there:)
