Fast Food Joint of the Day: Subway

Not a Subway person, although I do love sub sandwiches. We have a Canadian chain called Mr. Sub that I find to be much better. My default is always ham on cheese bread; simple with just cheese, lettuce, onion and sub sauce; heated to hot. To switch it up once in a while I'll go with seafood salad on white with lettuce and a little mayo. No cheese on that one and I have it pressed instead of heated.

Back in the 80s, my go to was the meatball marinara. Now I can’t stomach Subway, but it used to be decent. Jersey Mike’s > Blimpie > Quizno’s > Subway. Jersey Mike’s is the only one that held on to their quality.

I don't care for the quality of the meat used by any of those chain sandwich places. Cheap lunch meat will always taste awful no matter how many toppings they add to it.

Now I get the sweet onion chicken teriyaki when I go, which is rare… I loved the seafood sandwich, with white American cheese, toasted. Topped with lettuce and onion and a little Mayo…

I love sandwiches on bread, not subs so haven't been there in a long while.

I haven't been to Subway in years. The last time I ate there was when I was living in Germany since it was one of the only places open on sunday. If I want a sub, I go to Jersey Mike's instead.

My wife decreed about 20 years ago that we would not be going back to Subway near us. Their sanitation was lacking. Not that we ever went there very often. We prefer Togos. We have had a few sandwiches from Jersey Mikes, but the one near us went out of business, so not an option anymore.

Haven't had Subway in years. In my neighborhood there is a Goodcents sub shop that is way better than Subway. I don't eat subs often, but I'd get almost anything at Goodcents.

We have a ton of fantastic delis with crazy good sandwiches, the only chain I will eat is jersey mikes, but that is pretty big step below independent delis.

Sweet onion chicken teriyaki, with all the veggies except hot peppers and pickles.

I never think of going their unless the person I am with suggest it. Have not been in years. I am not really into subs. They are alright but I rather have something else.

Togo's fan here ! Haven't been to Subway in so long.....since friends had to help the employees kill a rat behind the counter !!!! (yuck !)

Edible, but low on my list. We have a local place I really like and I think Firehouse, Primos and Jersey Mikes are better in that order.

The only sub shops we have locally are Jimmy John’s (tried once, didnt like) and Subway. We don’t go often but when we do I get the turkey on wheat, shredded cheese toasted, then add lettuce, extra tomato, green pepper, cucumber (although last time she said they don’t have them anymore), and extra black olives with light mustard.
