FAQ about the Disney Dining Plan

Does anyone know if you can use the dining plan for a meal at LTT during the MVMCP?

YES! I wasn't sure either, so I was going to just make our PS for earlier in the day (kind of a "late lunch, early dinner") but when I asked, the CM put me on hold, checked her Dine Help program and said it was ok! Call them up :) :Pinkbounc

I think that I saw this question posted before, but with no answer that I could see. Do you think that the dining plan will continue after the Happiest Celebration? We were there in May 2005 and will return in May 2007 and I would love to be able to be on the dining plan again. I was thinking that as soon as 2007 rates come out I would book with the dining plan if that was an option, thinking that if it was stopped we should still be able to have the plan, such as when they changed from the old plans to MYW, those with silver packages were grandfathered in.

This is such a good thread! Thank you! I may have missed this, and if so, I am sorry. We are having my bil and friend (who live nearby) for a meal at WDW one evening, would we be able to use meal credits for them, too, or will we have to pay for them separately?

Anyones guess is as good as anyone else on this. I doubt Disney knows yet. But Disney has had meal plans as add ons since I was a child, I doubt they will stop anytime soon. I can't remember the details anymore, but the MYW dining struck me as being very like the old Silver plan.

The meal credits are yours to use any way you see fit. So yes you can use them to treat others if you want. On the other hand, if you just want a light meal with no app or dessert one night, you can pay cash for that and save the credit for a time you can get more value from it. It is completly up to you!

Currently, you can book 2006 packages including the same MYW + dining plan (although maybe a few dollars difference in price).... so I think it's here to stay at least another year! Woohoo :)

How it does this year and next will probably determine if it stays for your 2007 trip, but as another DISer mentioned, they will certainly continue offering SOMETHING for dining! :goodvibes

disney has already posted the increase for the dining program that starts january 2006. it will increase to $39 pp for adults. not sure if there will be any change for children.

Just wondering what my Dining Plan card will say on it? Is it also your room key and your charging back to your room card? Is it all one card? I am wondering what it will say since I have 5 kiddos. Two of them are considered "adults" for the dining. So will my card say 4 adults and 3 kids? I am wondering if my 10 year old is going to have a hard time ordering off the adult menu without the card saying so... Hope this makes since

Hi, sorry if this question has been asked before? But is Smoothies/specialty drinks like cappachino qualify for a drink? :confused3 Thanks for the reply!

Moderators: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make this a sticky!! I see SO many posts that are asking questions that are answered here!

Hello,

Working on plans for another WDW trip. We'd like to split our 10 night trip: 5 nights at WL and 5 nights at BC. Would like to include the dining package, 3 adults.

My questions:

1. Will this be two separate reservations?

2. Will I have to pay for 2 five day MYW tickets for each adult instead of the
better priced 10 day tickets?

3. Will I have two separate dining plans, one for the first 5 nights, and one
for the second 5 nights, which will mean I can't carry over my extra
meals to the following 5 nights?

Thanks

1. I believe that is how it works.

2. You will have to have some kind of park tickets for each stay. You could do a 10 day for the first half and just purchase a one day for the 2 part of your trip to make it into a 'package'. I'm not sure if that would be more cost effective or not, but it is a possibility.

3. You will have 2 separate 5 days of food so no, you can not use any of the first set of credits after midnight of your first check out.

We are eating at the below restaurants and are trying to decide where to use our credits. DH and I usually share an appetizer and dessert but DDs are big eaters and normally finish their own child's meal and dessert. How will we maximize our credits? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I understand you can pay for child's meals then use those credits for adults at another time but I do not want to do this if it is not how Disney intends the free dining plan to work, but if it is not against the rules we will do it. (I want to maximize but not cheat.)

Question about dining package:

Do they have "doggy bags" that you can take your cake or pie type desserts back to your resort room and have them later, being that the meal is so much food?

One more question and I apologize if it was already answered and I didn't catch it. Do you have to book the dining plan at the same time as you book the rest of your package or can you do it after you've had some time to really weigh it all out???

Yes it will be two plans. What you can do though is buy 9 day tickets for the 1st res. and 1 day for the last. The MYD is only based on how many nights you stay not on ticket days, but you must at least purchase a 1 day pass for each reservation. The 1st package would end at midnight on the day you check out.
