FAQ - 2010 DDP, DxDP and QSDP Everything you always wanted to know

We have purchased the QSDP plan (2 adults , 1 adult for a 12 year old and 1 6 year old.)
There will be a few times that we will not all be eating together. IF we are split up and at a place where there is not a kids menu and we order an adult lunch, will we then have 1 less adult CS credit for the remainder of the time we are at disney. Would it be possible that we would end up with a day of just kids meals? Can someone that has been there and used this OSDP program please let me know how it works?

You need to have some method of writing it down because it can become quite confusing if you are splitting meals/splitting up, eating at different times.

Looking at your party I would suggest that you give the task of "keeping track" to one person in each group for the day. Even your 6 year old can join in (with a bit of help, so as not to feel left out). Prepare some small cards/or have 2 mini note books with columns drawn down for adult and child CS. Tell everyone that they HAVE to submit all receipt to you at the end of each day (so you can double check and maybe have your own little log in your resort room. It is not really a hassle at all as IMO, you sit down to eat anyhow so this is a good time to get into the habit of recording your credits. After the first day or so, it will fall into place without even thinking about it. That way you have peace of mind and maybe everyone will have a little fun too. :goodvibes

I really like the QSDP - at this stage of our lives it is perfect for us. I hope you enjoy it too.

BTW, if there is no kids menu, they will redeem a kids credit for an adult meal. Just tell them when you order how you are using the credits to pay. :)

I don't have the answer but I can tell you that they are separate credits, whether they show on your receipt that way or not. You pay $xxx for an adult and $xxx for a child. You are obligated to spend them that way. I think it is a matter of time before Disney upgrade their system to show them broken down on the receipts anyhow.

Hi we will be going to WDW in July and I would like to get the QSDP but my DS7 won't eat most of the meals (he doesn't eat most meats). He will eat the breakfast and maybe 1 or 2 chicken nuggets, and he will not eat an uncrustables, he doesn't like jelly or grilled cheese. I will bring peanut butter and fluff and bread for him, that is what he eats all of the time. Can I get 2 breakfasts with his credits in the morning if I get one and my DD goes after us and gets another 1 in a different order, with her meal?

If there is no child menu they can eat off the adult menu and you won't get penalized for it.

When I called WDW DINE today a cast member informed me that none of the reservations I have would hold should I add the DP onto my reservation now! They would have to be re-booked subject to availability, per a new Disney policy!

Just keep the reservations you have, don't try to link them with a resort reservation. Anyone can make reservations within 180 days, so if you want any new reservations, just make them. It makes absolutely no difference whether or not you link a resort reservation. They don't need to know ahead of time that you are planning to be on a dining plan (unless you want CRT or a dinner show without prepaying), you can tell them when you arrive at the restaurant that you are on a dining plan.

I've never heard of this policy. Changing or cancelling a resort reservation will not cancel restaurant reservations that have already been made.

AP holders can book a ticketless package with dining - but it is a package, not a room-only reservation, and it follows the same deposit, payment and cancellation rules as other MYW packages.

what about an AP holder who rents DVC points? Could I add the DDP myself or do I need the member to add it for me?

The member needs to add it but you pay for it upon checkin. It has to be added to the reservation more than 48 hours before checkin.

Well, we didn't use QSDP, but we did use the regular DDP for Counter Lunch service. If you have kids, you are required to order from the kids menu for them. But if there is no kids menu, you will NOT be left with "a day of just kids meals" at all. As the PP said, if there is no kids menu they do not penalize you and everyone can order from the regular menu. It really was very easy.

:confused3I never understood the two drinks at breakfast. Can one of these be substituted for something else?

Which CS locations do not have a separate children’s menu?
I understand that where there is no children’s menu, children can order off the regular menu.
• Toluca Turkey Legs
• Casey's
• Pete's Doggone Good Dogs
• Sommerfest
• Yorkshire County Fish Shop
• Main Street Bakery
• Golden Oak Outpost
Boulangerie Patisserie

Where are each of these located?

Sad that there are no options like this in AK.

Will our receipts keep a tally of the kids & adults meals remaining? This is more for CS meals since we will be eating all TS meals together.

Our kids eat more often than we do they are classic grazers. Or sometimes one child is hungry and the other is not. There could be times when they(kids) get breakfast and we just get coffee or they (kids) want to share an evening meal when we get back from the park and the adults just want a beer. Or when the kids menus sucks so bad, we just share the adult ones.

But do we have to track this or will it be tracked on the receipt, just so we know how many meals each person has left?

With 9 DDP days and 4 people, it would be a PIA to track.

Thanks!!

Every time you use the DDP, your receipt will state the number of credits of the appropriate type remaining. If it's at a CS, you'll get the number of CS credits remaining,

The OP for the QSDP reads as if adults will always get a drink with their meal but the kids do not? Am I reading that correctly? If so, why do the kids not get a drink with their meals?

WDW CS children’s menus usually consist of an entrée and two “sides” that may be selected from a list, which generally includes:

* fresh fruit
* fresh vegetables
* sugar free gelatin
* applesauce
* french fries if you request them,
* cookies, pudding or ice cream

There has been quite a bit of confusion about the kids' sides in the past. The portion of the post that you pulled was meant to clarify what 'sides' consist of on the plan. Prior to clarification, we had MANY posters thinking that you got a dessert and two sides. People were posting about fighting with CMs because they didn't get the dessert that they were entitled to and their two sides, so we felt that it was important to try to clarify that for members here.

The kids do get a drink as well with their meal. No worries of dehydrated kids. :goodvibes

When I called Disney about the QS they said it was $33.99 in July. Did they raise the price or is it because it is the summer (July)?

Probably...they raise the meal plans as well as the cost of meals during peak and holidays.
