I was a girlscout from age 5/6 (Kindergarten) in Brownies until I graduate High School. I got a scholarship for college for my participation.

I haven't had time but I'm hoping this fall to pick up a troop and become an assistant leader.

Awesome news! You have no idea how many girls cannot join Girl Guides or Girl Scouts due to the lack of leaders. I hope you will be a leader in the fall!

I was a girl scout too! I was a PIXY (now called daisy) then a brownie for two years then a junior for three years and a cadet for two years! I would have gone further but we didn't have a leader! My daughter was a daisy, brownie and a junior! I was her brownie leader for two years! In June I watched not only my daughter graduate from high school but also about 7 of my brownies graduate too! I loved it, my mom was also my leader for most of the years I was in scouts. Thanks for bringing some really good memories back! I hope we are not a dying breed!

That is awesome like I said I have a lot of memories from my mom being a leader for so long! Keep it up, I know that it is something I should still do we get so caught up in our busy life. Thanks for waking me up about it again!

We just went on our first cruise May 29, on the Disney Dream. We really loved it but did not book on board. I regretted losing the 10% discount. I kept saying "if only we had booked onboard". Then last week we got a 10% off pin for a DCL cruise if booked by 8/2/11. I immediately jumped on it and we booked right away!! So here we are. I was involved in our previous cruise thread but we didn't participate in the FE. So, I will have to think on this for a bit.

I look forward to this next 10 months and getting to know everyone!

Hello All...

I am way into overwhelm over this trip already and must withdraw our family. Our group seems to be expanding (possibly 19 now) and just the logistics of getting all of us to Florida with all of the baby necessities, old folk's medications, appropriate clothing and sundries for each, not to mention documentation (last time ((with just 12 of us)) there was a major meltdown halfway down the coast when the realization set in there was a passport missing... crisis averted... thank goodness for the wallet sized one just stuck in because it was easy to carry that way!) is going to make me insane! On top of it all, I am one of those people who drive the others mad with details that seem to matter only to me... I am sorry if this causes any trouble to anyone... We may just still do something VERY small for everyone, we will see... It really sounds like you will have such fun... but I think it will be just way too much to deal with for us this time.

Hi, everyone, and welcome to the newcomers!

Just read up some people are dropping out of FE.. we still haven't decided. We'd love to participate, but having none done a FE swap before, it's hard to picture the work and supplies needed to contribute. I'll keep thinking and let you know.

Also, in case anyone here cares to follow along, I've started a PTR over on the Trip Reports board. Why, you ask? Well, my sister, niece, and I planned to travel to the parks Wednesday night before the cruise for a couple of days. After some discussion about adding another day (meaning we'd arrive Tuesday) and my sister not wanting to take my niece out of school for another day, she suggested I travel to the parks on my own for a few days. SOOOOO, this will be a threefold trip for me of sorts: 4 days solo at the parks, 2 days with my sister and niece, and then, of course, this wonderful cruise with them as well. Woo-hoo! I'll now be getting my Disney on for two weeks!!! I'm so excited!

Here's the link to my PTR. I'd LOVE to have you over. Please know I'm soliciting opinions on the solo portion of the trip. I also plan to report on the days with my family and the cruise, once it's time for the TR. Last but not least, we've got a 4-day trip to Disney this fall for MNSSHP, so I'll probably post a mini-TR in this PTR as well. See? There's many, many incentives for following along! That passport nightmare is one of my favorites. I always ask Pam to show me the passports - but usually not until we're about 3 hours into our trip. I think I might get the card in addition to the book since we're in the process of renewing our passports. Sounds like good insurance.

two things. first the passports, you all just gave me a flashback to our last (and first) disney cruise trip. we live in tn so had to fly across the country to get to calif for the MR cruise. that means leaving before the crack of dawn, so even tho we are usually really early (at least when dh is coming along ) we weren't headed out any earlier than the 4:30 we thought absolutely necessary. unfortunately we got 10 min from home when dh realized he'd taken the folder he had w/ only our passports but also our cruise tix back in the house and set them down. needless to say, we missed our flight so we were up that early for NOTHING! (we were actually there 25 min before take off at a tiny airport but by law you ahve to be there 30 min before if checking luggage? bleh.

good times, good times, lol!

anywho...lol...the other thing was about the the name poll. i went to look at the results before and after voting today and it didn't change? has anyone else noticed this happening? the numbers seem to be about the same as monday or early tuesday (can't remember when i last checked) i'm guessing people have voted in that time? and in any case i know *I* voted and that one didn't change #'s...weird.

We did, but I think that about 2/3 people had any pirate themed thing on and only about 1 in 10 were decked out. Lots had just a pirate T-shirt or something, and then put on the bandana they give you. Others had varying degrees of pirateness. We really only had shirts and skullcaps and earrings. Pam used a scarf for a sash.
