We will be in the World the week after Thanksgiving and I am fine tuning my ADR's. I have ressies for Mama Melrose/Fantasmic but I am second guessing Mama's. The other two restaurants you can couple with Fantasmic don't appeal too much to me either so if we do Fantasmic, which I am still not 100% sure on anyway, (dd will be 6 and I have heard it is a little scarry sometimes for little ones and she doesn't like scarry stuff) I'm thinking about just doing a walk in for the show. Can anyone give me some suggestions on where to dine that would be close or should I go to a resort or what should I do?

It sounds like you don't like the Brown Derby but it is one of our favorite restaurants. We eat there and then do walk in for Fantasmic (otherwise you have to eat way too early for the package deal.) The Brown Derby has great food.

If you want to do Fantasmic without the package, just eat where you'd like to eat. We love 50's Prime time and the kids had fun at Sci Fi.

Just make sure you make your ADR early enough to be done at least one hour before the show starts. So if for example, Fantasmic is at 8:00p, try to be done eating by 6:30p - 6:45p at the latest. So that would mean your ADR should be around 5:00p at the latest, as sometimes certain sit down meals can take up to 2 hours.

Oh and if there are 2 showings of Fantasmic, the second showing will be less crowded.

Good luck!

We liked Mama Melrose last year and we're returning this year for the Fantasmic package. My kids like Fantasmic, even my youngest who was 4 last year.
