Fantasmic Thread!

When I checked Fantasmic for the first week of December after Thanksgiving week, it was not available for Monday. I’ll be checking tomorrow for Tuesday, but if that is not available then I am assuming it will not be showing Monday thru Thursday and going back to Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

Yes that sounds right. I do not think F! will show during the week until 12/23. Then I suspect F! will run daily 12/23 through 1/5.

This would be my guess as well. Only during Summer and holiday "weeks" would I expect F! to show nightly

Spring break I would only expect it to be showing nightly the week before and the week after Easter.

Does the Friday, Saturday and Sundays showings also apply to fireworks also? Or the parade?

Yes to the fireworks, no to the parade. Also, on Mondays-Thursdays, they will do the projections only version of the fireworks show, so no fireworks but the music and projections on main street, the castle, and small world will occur.
I think for the holidays the run the fireworks every night because there is no projection alternative for this show like all the others.

Hi all,
How far back would one need to sit in the Rancho section to avoid any (even slight) possibility of being sprayed with water or misted during the show?

Also, I understand that the area is sloped but do kids ever have trouble seeing or is it truly a great view no matter what?

I was at the railings right in the front of the Rancheo section, I didnt get splashed. There a slight mist in the air, but very different to the splash zone in World of Color. At Fantasmic theres also some fire on water effects and you can feel the heat for a few seconds.

Its a great view in all parts, its not that big an area. I just like being at the railings as I go to the first show and stay to watch he fireworks.

This can vary greatly depending on wind conditions - I’ve been in the front and not gotten wet, but on other days have gotten misted if the wind is blowing the right direction. I would guess that the odds of getting wet are very low in the back of the section. I’ve been toward the middle and back and not gotten wet but I’m not sure the wind was strong on those days anyways.

I also prefer the railings. My spouse prefers to be farther back. The whole section is maybe 10 rows of people

I have felt more heat from the flames than mist from the water. If you are looking to avoid any mist, I would sit in at least the second row.

How old is your child? The area is sloped but not tremendously. Their view will depend on the people sitting in front of them. If someone is taller, wearing ears or holding their phone up to take pictures, it may impact your view.

To give you an idea of the slope, this is a view of the seating area during the day. It is basically from the railing to the first planter.

Here is another view from the River Belle seating area. It is from the railing to just in front of the red umbrella.

Thank you all. This is super helpful. We do have reservations for the premium river Belle seats as well so I’m thinking of keeping those to avoid both the mist and the potential for someone tall to be in front of us and then trying to move closer to the water before the fireworks since it sounds like the view from the terrace is obstructed by trees.

Just so you know, Fantasmic ends at 9:27 pm and fireworks start at 9:30 pm. The area is dark and very crowded.

That was a bit of my concern. Do you think it would be too hard to move after the show?
Yes, thats why I sit at the railings in the viewing areas for Fantasmic. Its chaos when the lights go up. The cms remove the ropes during the last few minutes of the show, so when the lights go up, everyone stands up, some people move forward, some people turn around and leave. Some people in the standby areas move forward into the viewing sections, some people in the standby areas turn around and leave. AND then people who were in other areas try to move through , some just walking past to go into Pirates or walk through going down to Galaxys Edge, some people seeing the ropes are gone try to move forward into the viewing areas.

Theres maybe 3 or 4 minutes maximum before the lights go down again and the fireworks start.

I usually just have time to stand up and move forward to the railings as people crowd around me.
