Fantasmic Thread!

I love Fantasmic, but I also love visiting at least some days when it's not showing. It makes walking through that area of the park very pleasant at night! You can also ride the Mark Twain at night especially when it gets dark early during the winter.

I read that Blue Bayou only accepts the Fantasmic Dining Packages or regular reservations for 3 people or more. If my party is only for 2 people, do I make a reservation for 3 and then cancel the third person?

Does the Riverbelle Premium accept reservations for 2 people?

Any advice would be great!

I plan to make reservations for 3 and then tell them there are only 2 when I check in. If they didn’t want people to do this they would make tables available for 1 or 2.

I understand why they do it but feel it is completely unfair to solo travelers and parties of 2.

Yep. They just changed this. I am a solo traveler. On my last trip in August 2024 to book Blue Bayou, i had to put in a party of 2 to get a reservation for 1- now you have to put in 3. It is also the same at Storytellers and Goofy's. There is no penalty. For the F! premium and other F! dining packages and WOC Dessert Party you can put in 1.

That’s crazy!

I couldn’t believe it and just checked storystellers and goodys and you are absurdly right!
There is non availability for one person, there are a couple of time slots left for 2 persons and whole days available for groups of 3…?

How is this possible? And why?
So, if there isn’t a penalty for booking for 3 people and just show up alone why limit spots in the first place?

I like to hope that it is some weird IT hiccup no one so far figured out at Disney because to me it makes no sense…
Just as I don’t understand why they only have released the first weekend for holiday time and not the rest of the days…

(Yes 3 guests are better then one but if I can book a table for 3 as solo Traveler without penalty it doesn’t make much sense to me to limit it in the first place…?

I waiting for them to start putting a penalty for groups less than the reservation.

It really sucks as a mostly solo traveler to have restaurants look down on me or always want to stick you at the bar.

Fantasmic viewing area question - wheelchair friendly??? Hi, I have a package reserved (Rancho at 5pm) but am worried about the viewing area for Fantasmic. My little girl is in a wheelchair, do we still need to get to the area (wherever it is) early to make sure she has a spot in front (so she's not looking at other peoples butts) for the show? Do people sit/stand? Is there special wheelchair section?

Also, can we stay in the area for the fireworks right after?

People sit for the show. In general wheelchairs are to the back of the viewing area.

It sounds like you have tickets for the second show. Is that correct? If so, the first show and fireworks don't end until around 9:45 pm.

My suggestion would be to arrive around 7:30 and ask one of the Fantasmic CM waiting near Harbour Galley. They will be able to give you the best suggestion based on your, and your daughter's, needs. Then you can go do other things and come back just before 10 for the second show seating.

Ohhh.... I didn't realize you booked for one or the other show. I just checked my dining reservation and yes, 2nd show. Thank you for bringing this up, I wouldn't have ever noticed. I will cancel as my kiddo will not make it to a 10:30pm show! Thanks for theheads up!

Would you recommend the Tomorrowland Skyline Terrace as a good viewing point for both shows (early Fantasmic and Fireworks)? It's quite a bit more expensive, food looks less than stellar, but I mainly want a good viewing point.

You can’t see fantasmic from there and I would not recommend it for fireworks. It’s an off centered view.

If you haven’t cancelled yet, you may be able to ask at check-in to be switched to the first show. This isn’t guaranteed but is worth a shot if you’re still interested in the earlier show.

If she tries that and they say no, then won't she be charged for the meals if she cancels? Don't cancellations of Fantasmic packages have to be made 24 hours ahead of time or something like that?

No, I really wouldn’t recommend Skyline Terrace, definitely not for Fantasmic as you can’t see it and not even for fireworks.

Check the night before for a Fantasmic dining package for the first show. People cancel as plans change. You can even check that morning as you can cancel two hours before your reservation.

F! reservations for RdZ can be cancelled up to two hours in advance - so someone could always swing by RdZ in person on the day of their visit prior to two hours before their reservation time to ask about switching or canceling (or could always just cancel on their phone). That being said, my experience is that there is likely more flexibility than that if someone asks nicely to the CM working F! check-in at RdZ, even if it's within the two hour window. The check-in for F! dining package is not connected to the payment (which is done at the cashiers at the end, after having picked up the food) so as long as the CM marks the party as checked in (or they could hit cancel on the spot, I believe) no penalty will occur.

This would not apply to the RBT premium F! dining package, which requires 24 hour cancellation.
