I don't have to have the best seat but . . . how quick do they fill up for the first show in the summer? Do I have to stand in line for 2 hours, 1 hr, 1/2 hr??

We have stood in line for 1-1/2 hours before but that is also because I like to have choices for seating. I'm sure you could shorten that to 1/2 hr and still be okay if your not a big group and flexible with where you sit. If you want to limit your time in line, maybe consider one of the fantasmic packages where you get a table service meal and priority seating without the waiting in a long line come show time.

I'm not sure if FP+ has changed the way this is done, but honestly ive been at least 6 or 7 times, and never have waited more thAn 1/2 hr before they let the people start to head up the ramp. I've always gotten great seats too. And we're usually anywhere from 4 - 10 people too.

priority seating TS suggestions?

I believe there are 3 restaurants that participate - Hollywood & Vine (Buffet), Brown Derby (Buffet), and Mama Melrose's (Italian). We have never done the package before but I am trying to get an ADR for the Hollywood & Vine for mid-November now.

If you could afford it, then there's no comparison. Brown Derby is way better by far....Mama Melrose to me was terrible, and I'm pretty lenient when it comes to food.... service here was adequate, place was ok, but the food......:scared: buffet at Hollywood n vine was actually pretty good too, but the characters are geared towards the real lil ones.

The below applies to the first (or only) F! show of the evening...

I don't understand how you could have waited in line for 1 1/2 hours.

I can see arriving 1 1/2 hours EARLY, but the theater OPENS at least an hour before show-time, so you'd be IN the theater for most of that 1 1/2 hours.

We love Mama Melrose! My husband and I eat here each vacation. We both agree that it does a fantastic job of walking a line where it can be a romantic dinner for two or a nice family restaurant. Now, the food isn't going to make you think you are dining in Tuscany or anything like that, but it is perfectly good. I recommend the steak as it is some of the best on property (and you wouldn't think that seeing as there are some terrific steak houses on property, but it's quite good). The seafood arrabbiata is also quite good, as is the chicken campanelle. For dessert, our platter has always had the panna cotta, cannoli, and the amaretto cheesecake. No complaints. Oh, and with the Fantasmic package, you will each also get to choose an appetizer. I loved the calimari and the mozzerella and tomatoes. :goodvibes

Yes, 1.5 hours is correct and that did NOT include the wait after we reached the theater and waited for showtime. Fortunately we have been able to afford a few WDW trips but that being said we are not there every year and the last time we went, Fantasmic was only being shown/done 1-2x per week, not every night so waits were ridiculous. It was a must do for me that year as the kids were still young and we had never seen it before. We haven't been in 5 years so I understand that what was then may not be what is now.... I was only posting our experience with this show in the past

You can fast pass Fantasmic which is what we did on Sunday evening. Got to show around 8:25 for 9:00 show. We were seated in malificent area. You don't pick your section but cast members direct you to a section and you can choose what bench to sit on. Center section was for those with dinner package.

Mama Melroses was amazing. Just got back and we had the F! package there and it was one of the best meals of my entire trip.

I agree!! We love it, and it is one of my daughters favorites! It's a bonus that we get the package for the F! seating :goodvibes:goodvibes

If I could ask a similar Fantasmic! question if there is 2 shows and the later one is at park closing what kind of time should one invest in line to get into the theater to see it?

Going last week of August

Last time we went to the later viewing we got there about 20 minutes before it began and got great seats. We were a bit higher up, but still pretty close to center.

Nuh uh!:rotfl:

Brown Derby F! Was a total knock out, gold medal, GOOOOOOOAAAAAALLLL!!!!

Best meal I have ever had. Came with app, entree, soda and coffee, dessert trio for $57, anything off the menu even the priciest stuff (that was a $40 entree anyway). When he gave us the F! Vouchers, it was almost laughable. That meal was well well worth what we paid, and priority seating was just icing on the cake. We used it too, barely made it. After dinner, it took us 80 min to get thru the TSMM line and then I literally ran all the way to F! And got in at 8:50 and then the CMs roped it off even tho there were plenty of great seats. I jumped up and down like a maniac and they finally opened the rope back up and let my husband, Twinkie and her husband in. If I hadn't ran, we would not have gotten to use those vouchers. Anyway we did tho. That dinner and a show was one of the BEST memories of the whole trip including the Disney Cruise. It also helped tremendously that I had $104 in Disney Visa Rewards to take off the bill. Woohoo!!!!! Next time, I'd book a reservation for Brown Derby, having seen the show, I'd ride and ride TSMM like my friends did when it started and they had no line. But I'm glad we did it this time and we did at least get to ride it while our seats were being held. We have gone under that awning for decades... This year was the first year WE actually got to eat there! I think your priorities due change when you get to mid 30s! The QS stuff just ain't cutting the mustard....

Book Brown Derby!!! Its amazing!:yay:

What about mid October? I haven't been to Fantasmic in awhile and didn't know if it was still always crazy to get in. We can prob take any seats.
