We've never done Fantasmic before so I'd like to try it for our next trip. I've read there are 2 showings on busier days and that you can often get into the 2nd show without as much of a wait as the first one.

Since January hours aren't out yet I assume there is no info on if there will be more than one show, is there? In general what times are the shows? I'm thinking of booking the dinner package to get into the 1st showing only if it isn't as dark out, maybe keep the kids from being too scared. But then again, in January it gets dark pretty early so its probably dark even for 1st showing.

I can book my ADR's tomorrow and just trying to decide if I should book something, I can always cancel later if I change my mind.

We have never been in January so can't tell you what schedule might be like. I would assume the first show would be dark as well because the show would not work with daylight at all. We go in September every year and we did the second show one year (the first show was at 8:30 and the second show at 10:00--or something like this). We got into line 45 minutes before the second show and waited about 15 minutes before they even let people in becasue they were still cleaning up from the first show. We were able to find a seat off to one of the sides. We now always done the package just so we can walk in 25-30 minutes before showtime.

thanks! I was under the impression you still had to be there pretty early (45min.+) even with the dining package though.

We aren't on the dining plan so I thought we'd try without the meal but maybe I should just book it.

Second question... would you do H&V or Mama Melrose? We are already doing the H&V character breakfast but I know the dinner is very different.

I havent seen the Jan 09 schedule posted but I know the Dec Fantasmic showings start on different days at 7 pm and 6:30/8 pm. Also, not sure if you are aware that the FDP voucher only applies to the first show of the night even if there is more than one show scheduled. I just found that out after booking it.

We are going in Jan too and I looked at the schedule for last Jan...sh be the same maybe?? I am going to make a ressie at Brown Derby I guess

I would think that the lower crowds in January would translate to one show only. "Busier times" usually refer to Easter, Spring Break, Thanksgiving, Christmas and height of summer.

Use last years schedule as a guide line but keep checking for when the calendar comes out.

We always do Mama Melrose. It's not outstanding food, but we have always had good meals and service. We refuse to go to H&V after two really bad experiences.

But we are looking at ADR for Jan 2nd, 3rd or 5th. I'm thinking it will still be busy at least thru that weekend.

I called for ADR's this morning and couldn't make anything for Fantasmic - the woman said she thought maybe you couldn't book anything into the new year yet. She said she tried for 12/31 and it let her but when she tried for 1/2, 1/3 there was nothing. I'm not sure if its just all booked or if its really not available yet. :confused3
