Fantasmic Dinner Package Changes

Has anyone done the FDP since they let you start booking it with MYW Dining Points?

I'm wondering if you use points if your drink is included.

Also ... Deb Willis site sais at MM you can only have Tiramasu (sp?) for dessert?

Is that true. YUCK.

CarolAnnC,
I got concerned when I read the show start times. We have an ADR for Dec. 3 for 5:00. Which wouldn't leave enough time for the 6:00 show start. I called WDW-DINE and the Show time on Dec. 6 is actually 7:00 which will give us enough time. I just wanted to mention this in case anyone else was making Fantasmic ADR's for that week in Dec. I hope this is helpful. And thank you for all of the information about the new pre-paid dinners and the specific menu for the package.

I just booked MM today for our trip on Jan 16, 2006 so I guess they are going to contunue the plan. I had a friend there last week and they did MM as well and I think they got Creme Brule so there have to be more than one desert. They said somehthing aobut a faamily salad. They give you some kind of fast pass thing to wait ina aspecial line.

I have reservations for Mama Melrose with the Fantasmic package. I have read there is a "set" menu for this restaurant if you are doing the Fantasmic package. I can't find it anywhere - I have been searching all over the boards.

Has anyone been there recently who can explain what is on the menu?

Thanks! :sunny:

I was also wondering about this. If you are on the dinning plan how can they limit you to only a few meals? If that is the case is it really worth it just to get tickets to Fantasmic? I have been torn about canceling these ADR's for the dinner package & just making reservations for dinner there. :confused3

In general you order from the regular menu, your meal includes salad served family style, a choice of the flat bread, and then you pick your entree from the menu, and then your dessert. I've gone when they only offered the tiramisu, and then other times they allowed us to chose any dessert.

Official answer is no but sometimes the waiters/waitresses will give you the discount.

Ok, how about the AP discount, does that work on it?

I posted this question on another thread but no one replied. I thought I would try to find an answer here.

Anyone knows if they've opened up some later time for the Fantasmic dinner packages at Mama Melrose ? I'm hoping to get a dinner + show package at around 5:00 or 5:30 for December 7. I called last week and they only have 3:30 as the latest time. Do you know when is the best time to call back for later times?

I was able to get H&V yesterday, didn't check on MM, call a lot and you may see you can get it.

We opted for Hollywood and Vine buffet before Fantasmic. Outstanding food! The grilled veggies and the green beans with garlic were enough to keep both of us occupied, but the grilled flank steak was tender and carved at the buffet for you. Plenty of chicken, pork and pasta if you wanted, as well as a huge dessert table. I liked that the dessert table made small individual tartlets and chocolate mousse, so you could try a little of each thing. Kids liked the menu as well – pasta, chicken nuggets, meatballs, miniature hotdogs, etc. Waiter brought the kids bitrthday sundaes and a signed birthday card for each. Time after the dinner for a short walk, then over to Oscar’s, the gas station at the entrance to MGM Studios where we went through a back gate behind all the shops to a special entrance for Fantasmic. Were still early enough we didn’t use the reserved seats off to one side, but copped a middle section, middle row view of all the action. Fantasmic has improved since our last trip and the dragon seemed bigger and better.

We want to do a Fantasmic package on Friday May 12. Any idea what time the show starts? MGM is open 9-9. We plan on eating at HBD. How long should we allow for dinner?

Thanks!

Does anyone know what is the earliest time I could possibly book the Fantasmic Dinner Package? I'm looking at booking for May 1st, but wouldn't want to miss the afternoon parade either. Thanks
