Famous People You have met While at WDW

We were having dinner at Chef Mickey and a large group sits down 2 tables next to us. We see 3 HUGE men, 1 older lady and I think 3 or maybe 4 kids and then P. Diddy. He looked small compared to his bodyguards. They didn't even get up to go to the buffet everything was brought to their tables by waiters. They kept saying JLo was coming also but we later found out that was the time the broke up.

At the entrance to the wave pool at TL, I said to this woman "you look just like Jamie Gertz" and she said "hmm...with a smile". It was definitely her and once I heard her speak to her kids, I really knew it was.

Last fall we were watching Fantasmic at MGM and I was sitting directly behind Chayanne who is a HUGE celebrity/singer in the hispanic world. I think I may have spilled some of my Mike's Hard Lemonade on him.

We saw Tara Lipinski and a friend several years ago. Wanted so bad to get a pic or autograph, but didn't.

Last year (or the year before?) we saw Kurt Warner (right after he won the Super Bowl) on several rides. Snapped his pic! Then in Tusker House in AK he was there and we were there kinda in that back room. We were like the last people left. Finally convinced DS to go talk to him....he was dying tok, but shy. I went with him. Kurt was very nice and polite. Didn't get an autograph, but wonderful memory!

My dad rode Mission: Space with John Stamos! My dad said he was a really nice guy. I didn't belive him until I saw him walk into the gift shop! Didn't get his autograph though...

We have an old thread on the Resorts Board about "Celebrity Sightings at WDW Resorts" (click here to view it). There are a lot of fun sightings in that thread. My family has seen Jim Neighbors, Hulk Hogan, Steven Tyler, and a bunch of other folks.

Wynonna Judd. We were caught with her and her family on a porch at a shop at AKL during a rainstorm. Then we all ended up at the Rainforest Cafe at the same time. Could not get away from her!

Ok, we we're staying at Disney, but spent the day at Universal. Anyway, my husband and I were on our honeymoon and were eating at NASCAR Cafe. Yes, we are huge NASCAR fans and went to the Daytona 500 on our honeymoon as well as Disney.

So, as we were eating, we got these tickets to come back that night and see Sawyer Brown for free. It was the grand opening of the NASCAR Cafe there. Since it was during speedweeks, there were a ton of drivers right there. Unfortunately, we weren't among the priviliged few who actually got to go inside the restaurant, but we were right up next to the "retaining gate". We saw a bunch of drivers including Dale Earnheart, Dale Earnheart, Jr., Darrell Waltrip, Jimmy Spencer, Terry LaBonte, Mark Martin. Tony Stewart was less than 5 feet away from me signing autographs, but I had no idea who he was. If I could turn back the hands of time, I'd get his autograph.

No famous encounters at the world, but I thought this might count...

Had to be 10-12 years ago, we bumped into Tiny Tim on Halloween night at the now defunct Fireworks Factory on Pleasure Island. He was drunk as a skunk :rotfl2:

Brrrr... That gave me the shivers! :scared1: He was one scary looking individual. Terrible singer too and how he ever got popular is beyond me. :confused3

My mom and I did laundry next to one of the Chicago Bulls players... I can't rememebr his name now but He was really tall.
I was also in the hot tub at WL next the the girl that played Kimmy Gibbler on Full House. I didn't say anything to her though, I didn't want to bother her beucase she was with other people and having "normal" conversation

We also had dinner at hoop-dee-doo next to andy garcia. He is in a few of the photos we took. The funny thing is we didn't realize it was him until the end when we were walking out. I told everyone but no one believed me until we developed the pictures! Funny

I have had 3...

George Hamilton...My ex-wife and I were on the Boardwalk, very early one morning (about 7:00 am). We were looking over the railing, and when we turned around Mr. Hamilton was standing there in all of his tanness. I said "hi," he said "hi" and walked away.

Kelly Ripa...Again on a trip with my ex, we were in the lounge at the Poly and there was Kelly and her husband Mark. They had apparently come down to watch Monday Night Football...any way, my ex was a big fan of whatever soap that she used to be on, and after a few too many Lapu Lapus went up to her and said hi. Kelly was apparently very nice to her.

Terri Nunn...Best one of all in my book..If you don't know who she is..shame on you (Lead singer of Berlin..."Take my Breath Away", "Metro", etc., etc.). She was performing a Pleasure Island one Halloween (1994ish). I was in the front row and while they were singing the song "Masquerade" she made and held eye contact with me for so long, that everyone around was looking to see what she was looking at...I held eye contact until I noticed my ex looking back and forth at us....after the show I saw her walking down the street in PI and did not have the courage to say anything to her...wow...talk about "take my breath away.." :earboy2:

Well, we didn't actually get to meet anyone, but we were there the day they unveiled all those Mickey's that the celebrities did. We were waiting in line to go see Winnie the Pooh and we had an extremely long wait. According to a cm Janet Jackson was in getting her picture taken with Winnie the Pooh.

Also, back in the 60's my mom went to Disneyland. All of a sudden someone came up to her and told her that she was standing too close to Mr. Sinatra. Sure enough, she turned and there he was!

Hi everyone,

What a fun thread. Back in the early 1990's, I want to say 1991 or 1992 we were leaving MK around 6pm and my sister run up to me and say they just saw Ice Cube and his family come into one of the gates - I said "no way" he was a real hard core rapper back then. I was so unconvinced that I kept telling my sisters that they were wrong, that they convinced me to go back to the gate to ask the guy who was taking the tickets. On our way over we walk right into Cube and his family and my sister (age 13) points directly to him and says loudly -- "see Ice Cube goes to disney too" and he looks over - and says "Yup" and keeps walking. I was sooooooo embarrased.

Then one time we were at WDW w/ my mom, dad, sister and brother when "Don't Worry Be Happy" was really popular. My dad looks a LOT like Bobby McFarland. So we were waiting in line for Carousel of Progress and their were two youngish CMs running the ride and both came up to my dad to ask him if he was Bobby McFarland. My dad said no and we all started giggling when the CM's said they "understood" and kinda winked at him.

Just yesterday at AK, we saw Mariano Rivera of the Yankees. He was walking into Dinosaur as we were leaving. My DH was so mad at himself for not going back on the ride and trying to get on the same time rover with him so we could buy the picture!

We just returned and our friend (whose into music) says "I think the guitarist from Iron Maiden was behind me in line" on the great Movie Ride. When we got off and exiting we saw them and his family and his little kids in camo shorts and rocker t's..cute! Not someone I recognized be he got a kick out of it!

My own cousin and fellow QB star (no I will not name names, for their sakes and that of my children but if you guess, I might come forward. They will be hard to guess and before I spill the beans you wou would have to guess both.

And we go deeper...my family name... a famous CAMPING name?!?!?!?!?

Hints: Both past NFL QB's and for the same team....damn don't ya love ya challenge??

In September 2003 I met Julie Andrews. She was doing a book signing at the book shop in MGM. It was limited to 200 people, and we were just lucky.

She was so charming and just exactly like you would imagine. Grown men were coming out crying after meeting her.. and I felt moved.... it was an incredible experience. She is very regal and calm...

Also on the same trip we saw someone famous at the Tarzan Rocks show. We know she was famous as people kept approaching her for autographs and even the cast as they skated by seemed to double take.. but sadly as we are from the UK, we had no idea who she was!!

We saw John Stamos in Epcot, Jan 2005. He was wearing a Yankee hat (booooo) and with some girl we did not know.
He's short in person.

Also met Roy Disney in the MK during the 25th celebration.
