We are wondering where a good place to stay with a large family is. We have stayed at Pop in two rooms when there were 5 of us but now we have another. We have two boys 11 and 9 and two daughters 2 and 7 months. I was looking at either WL Cabins, GF, BC or family suites. I have a pin so we were thinking we would like to stay somewhere we normally would not. Any advice would be appreciated!

you can stay in a standard room at any deluxe except AKL and WL but it might be tight with an infant. The Poly and CR have the bigger of the standard rooms. You can stay at POR as well but it'll be tight. I personally would stay at AoA in a suite. It's a new fun resort and you'll have plenty of space. A separate room for the parents and 2 bathrooms. It's also nice to have a space for the little ones to nap in the bedroom with ev1 else hanging in the living area or with 1 parent at the pool

It would depend on price for me between FW Cabins and AoA. If the pin is FD I'd go with the Cabins since it'll be a better dining plan. If it's a room percentage I'd probably go with AoA

If it is the 35% off PIN, I personally would go for the 2 bedroom villa at BLT! Especially if you go to MK, and it is on the monorail. Three full baths is also a big bonus for us! Congrats on the PIN!!!

We lived Ft Wilderness this summer. Me, DH, DS13, DD9, DD5, and my DM fit without a problem. My family of 5 is staying at POR in January and I'm a bit leery of the space so I'm still considering upgrading to Poly.

Out of the 4 resorts you're considering, we have stayed at the GF and BC and while both are great resorts, the GF would provide a larger room for 6 of you. But with that said, the CR and Poly would also be a good option as those rooms are some of the largest of the deluxe resorts as MMS1125 said. Our favorite is the Poly, but we've also had great stays at the GF & BC. Good luck deciding :wizard:.

there are only 4 of us, but we like separate bedrooms and extra bathrooms-so we have stayed at okw and ssr. enjoyed both locations.:goodvibes

sadly did not have any discount-but if we did would opt for gf or bc-both look fab!
gf would have to win on location alone though :)

Last Christmas we did five plus infant at a BLT one bedroom. King bed for Mom and Dad, which we enjoyed, and two bathrooms.

The couch and chair transform into comfortable beds!

Walking trail to Magic Kingdom.

Lots of space and we had a view of the fireworks from our balcony.

The family suites are also great, if the cost is a concern.

Next trip we are going to AoA suites, Nemo Section.

We're a family of 6 also, with a wide range of ages, and I would NOT recommend all trying to fit into a single room, even if it's allowed. You'll be tripping all over each other and fighting for space in the bathroom. Not to mention, if the 2yo needs to sleep, what do the rest of you do?

My family solves this issue by renting a house offsite. I know that's probably not what you want to do, so here are some other things that worked for us: a 2-room suite (think the family suites at AoA), DVC--we did a 1BR, but even found that too crowded. It's do-able, though. You could consider connecting rooms or a FW cabin, too.

Thanks everyone! I should have clarified a bit more. We are staying offsite for a week, this was to add on 3 days prior (cheaper flights) We were thinking of somewhere where we could hang out at a resort all day and all 4 kids would have fun and not "be bored". And do one day at parks. We are getting a 5 day hopper pass for the 10 days and doing 2 days seaworld as well. That's why I was thinking BC for Storm along Bay. Does WL cabins have a nice pool?

Sorry I can't answer your specific question, but I did want to point out that twice you've referred to "WL Cabins" - the cabins are actually at Fort Wilderness, the campground, not at the Wilderness Lodge Resort. Personally, I'd love to stay at the cabins; there really is a lot to do at the campground.

Enjoy your vacation!

If you're looking to hang out at the resort, would something at AKL fit your budget? It has a nice pool, a playground, and of course, lots of cool animal viewing. In addition, I believe there are different activities in the main lodge--storytelling at the firepit, I remember seeing kids doing rubbings of some things on the floor, and so forth.

If that's not in your budget, I would go with a FW cabin. I know "the Fort" has a lot of stuff going on--horseback riding, fishing, storytime, a campfire with marshmallows, that sort of thing. I can't speak for the pool, though, although there must be one or three there.

AKL won't work for this family unless they book a villa. The standard room at AKL will fit four plus an infant. They're five plus an infant.
