Ahhh - onto Boma.
So coming off of my not so hot buffet experience at Cape May, I was concerned about another buffet, this time Boma. Well I must tell you, this was probably one of the best buffets I have ever eaten at - ever!!!
We took the 5 minute bus ride over from AK to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Boma and Jiko are downstairs on the 1st floor. I checked in, and we waited about 5 minutes before being called. Here is a pic of the entrance sign and the price list:
I really was looking forward to taking a bunch of photos of all of the food stations - but for some reason, with the lighting, pictures were not looking so good

so I canned that idea (sorry everyone - everything looked really good in person). So here are some food picks from our plates, starting with DD. She had lots of different fruit, chicken nuggets, fries and mac n cheese - which she had 2 servings of the mac!!:
Here is DS9's first of 3 plates. Starting at the top and going clockwise - lots of fruit, a taste of watermelon rind salad, salmon, and calamari salad:
Next is my plate. Starting with the beef in the middle and working clockwise - And BTW, I must say, this was tremendous beef, and probably the best I have had in a buffet setting. Extremely well cooked and seasoned (they offered medium and medium-rare) plus multiple sauces for the pork and beef - I went with Sambal - I like a little spice. Fufu - which seemed to be a blend of potato and sweet potato, excellent. Calamari salad. Watermelon rind salad - nice and crunchy. Potato. And finally pork shoulder - another item that was well cooked and delicious!!:
I also had a coconut seafood curry - excellent as well. Those are mussell shells you see sticking out there:
I feel really bad about the other pictures not coming out, as I tried about 10 other things and they were all great!! They had several salads, 3 or 4 other soups, lots of fruit, and starch items like cous cous, mashed potato, etc. plus some unique items - like one that I can't remember the name, but sort of looked like blocks of tofu in red sauce, but tasted like grits. Here is a picture of the layout from my table, which was the very first one on the right when you walk in:
Here is a shot of just some of the desserts:
And of course, they had bread pudding

and peach cobbler, which is on the left:
I can not say enough good things about Boma. Our server Jose checked on us every 5 minutes, even if it was to look and see if we needed plates removed. Great service, more than friendly greeters and chef staff - especially over at the meat station. So many options, even picky eaters will be fine, and adventurous ones will enjoy the different tastes and textures. I wish I had a Boma close to my house, as I would love to go here again - soon!! One note of caution - go to Boma when you are hungry - too much good food here

!
Now the math

- If we paid OOP, it would have cost us $139.47. On the DDP, we used 3 adult TS credits and 2 kid TS credits. I also asked if they did smoothies here on the DDP, and they said no, Again, maybe they just allow them at Le Cellier. Anyone know???
So the math for the day breaks down like this

. If we paid OOP for lunch, snacks and dinner, we would have paid $216.94. On the DDP, we have our regular $141.95 plus $4.04 for the onion rings at lunch; which brings the total to $145.99.
On tap for dinner tomorrow we have ADR's at Teppan Edo
