Family of 5; First Time DDP - At WDW Now!!! 4/1/09 to 4/10/09

I am absolutely loving..loving...loving your reviews!!!! I've been checking in for the past 2 days just to get my fix! I am definitally going to keep Pecos Bill's in mind for our CS at MK... I had figured that we'd do Cosmic Rays, but I know they tend to be crowded...so now I know that there is a great alternative (thanks to your great reviews!)

I'm especially looking forward to your Boma review... this was my last ADR made and I'm worried my picky eaters won't be into it... so I'll be checking in..

And, of course I have to mention.... You have an ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL FAMILY!!! I hope you're having a wonderful vacation!

I had the smoothie, soup, fillet and "moose" at LeCellier and loved them all, it was nice to read your review for there as I could almost taste it! We don't have any of the steakhouses you mentioned, so we thought LeCellier was amazing, but I have heard people who didn't like leCellier, maybe they are used to places like you mentioned.

Never been to Boma, never even thought about it, maybe tonight you will change my mind. Hope you are having a great day at AK...

I hope you love Boma as much as we did. We were scared to try it but it was one of our favorites.

Not sure if you can do this or not....but we made our reservations for dinner, ate and then hopped over to AK and rode the Rapid ride. The park is usually near closing and it starts getting dark. AK at night is a completely different experience - it's actually kind of scary in a way;). They let us just stay on the Rapids ride for three times. My husband basically walked right onto Everest too. It worked out so well that we planned this exactly the same way on our last trip too.

Can't wait to hear how you liked Boma.

You are doing great so far with your report!!! It really does help with the overwhelming decision making of ADR's!
:goodvibes

Did you try the pretzel bread at LeCellier?? It is so good!! Can't wait for the next update!!

Thanks to those that have joined in - we are happy to have you with us. I learned so much from reading the DIS and reviews from others that I felt I had to share. I know how it is while you are waiting for your next trip.

Before I get to Le Celier, I need to take care of the snacks.

DD and DS9 both decided they wanted Aloha Isle again and went WI Citrus Swirls. DS18 wanted some pineapple juice, which was $1.69 - so I just paid cash for that. I will add that in to my totals at day's end. Here they are with their treats:

DS18 and I made a quick stop into the Main Street Bakery. I got some Banana Bread Pudding (I think I mentioned I love bread pudding already, right:hug:) and DS18 got an apple turnover. We got them to go as we were still full from those burgers. Sorry - no pics:confused3.

We decided to leave MK and head back to the Boardwalk, and it's a good thing we did, because as soon as we got on the bus, the rain started to come down really hard. DW passed on her snack for the day, so we just cashed in 4 snacks.

So if we paid OOP, the 4 snacks and the pineapple juice would have cost us $14.01. On the DDP, we paid $1.80 for the juice, and 4 snack credits.

We are going to kick back and watch Narnia: Prince Caspian, so I will do Le Celier later on.

I'm loving this review and I have to say, what a beautiful family you have :) Thanks for posting this.

LOVE Le Cellier!!! I also think that they have the best servers there. They are awesome!

haha love your daughters face in the picture lol.

Loving your review and your family is gorgeous! I think I have an answer for you about your daughter's cotton candy vs. gummies snack. A CM explained to us that if a package states on the back that it is more than one serving, it can't be used for a DDP snack. We were trying to get a bag of pretzels or something, which was under the $4 limit, but it wouldn't work because the nutrition label said 3 servings. I'll bet the gummies said 2 or 3 servings, too.

I've really enjoyed your review because of the wide age range of your kids. We are going with friends in Dec. and there will be two 17 y/o boys and two 8 y/o girls, so it is good to know the places that everyone enjoyed.

Love your reviews- thank you so much for taking time out of your trip to share with all of us dreaming to be in your shoes right now!! I hope you enjoy Boma as much as we do- Ask the chef to make you his famous fried oreos!

If you are concerned about the food at this restaurant, don't be. Everything was great, and the flavors were mild. The thing I am starting to catch onto here at WDW is that even though there are a lot of ethnic food choices, nothing is really exotic by any means - and probably a bit Americanized (is that really a word:confused3) for our pallets.

Well that gets me all caught up - off to the pool. Not sure where lunch will be, and dinner will be across the lake at Cape May for a Clam Bake.

Omgosh... your Marrakesh review is the best review I've ever seen. We have reservations for June and I CAN'T WAIT... We'll definitely be ordering the same platter too. Yummy... I like you can share the dishes with kids and they can get a good sampling of the food without ordering it.

on your pecos bill review-- the menu items-- on the dining plan can you get a side of stuff too? what exactly can you have besides a burger and a drink?

Loving the reviews...especially the pics. I must admit that I usually don't care for non food pics in reviews but I think your family is so cute that I really am looking forward to more!!! Bring it!!

Your reviews are great - thank you!
And I have to agree - your family is just beautiful and they seem to be really having fun :)

I 100% agree with you about Cape May. I ate there last year and was so excited (it was our ONLY sit down meal on that trip) and was completely disappointed (except for those oreo desserts - agreed!)

We are going on the DDP this year and your reviews and information are very informative - thank you, thank you, thank you!

I really love your reviews. Your pictures are great. You and your family look like they are having a great time. I have a question about Pecos Bills. My husband wants to know if there is any pickles on their fixins bar?

Thank you for the nice coments on the family - they all think they are stars now!!!

One thing to keep in mind re: Pecos - we got there at 11:00 on the nose, and there was lots of seating. By the time we got our meal, the seating was pretty full - then 5 minutes later it was packed!! However, everyone seemed to find a seat, and the food lines weren't long at all so it is a great option if you are over by Splash Mountain/Thunder Railroad.

We just came back from Boma, and your kids wil do fine - plenty for them to choose from.

I was concerned about my comments about Le Cellier as I was walking around today - as I didn't want to come off as snooty. I eat out a lot with clients because of work, so I get to go to very nice places sometimes, and DW and I will frequent some high end places from time to time. I just had such high hopes, that it would have been tough for Le Cellier to match them. It was very good - we all enjoyed it - and it was well worth the price. So hopefully, I don't discourage anyone from going there. One of our best meals of the trip!!:thumbsup2

I wish we could have hopped back over - but today was one of the most crowded I have seen any park. To give you an idea, on the bus ride over to AK - the bus driver said to us that we are lucky we chose AK over MK, because the line of the road to get into MK was more than a mile backed up and would take over an hour to get there:scared1:. At some point, they probably had to cut off admission.

At AK, we got there before noon, and all the Fast Passes were for after 7:00pm. We waited an hour to get on Dinosaur, and then another hour to get on Primevil Whirl. It was just nuts there too. We are going to try and get there at park opening tomorrow (7:00 am) to try and get some good rides in before it gets nuts.

OK - I hought the same thing regarding the serving size on the snacks. However, the cotton candy and the gummies both had 2 servings listed on the package:confused3. Maybe I should be quiet about it so Disney doesn't take that of the list too.

I missed the fried oreos as we just got back from Boma and I am now seeing this. That sounds really good!!

That is such a sweet comment re: the Marrakesh review - thank you:cloud9:. We do lots of sharing, and no one has a problem with it. DS9 wants to try everything and is not shy about it - so for us it is common practice.
