Tim, so sorry to read of your family's loss. My heart goes out to Mel right now. Praying for her & then entire family's comfort in the days ahead. I only have one left, and remember how difficult it was when the others all left this life. Happy to read about your noiece though! That's nice to read about. Ahhh newborns. Enjoy her, and this special time.

I am a TR addict/lurker.

I very much have enjoyed your TR so thank you for sharing.

I am sorry for your loss and I am happy for your new neice! I will keep your family in my prayers in both regards.

Lisa

I just wanted to offer my condolences for Mel's loss. I'm sure times are tough for her family right now. Please be sure she knows we're all keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers.

Congrats on your niece too! I really echo the sentiment that sometimes when one life ends another begins, and what a joy to get to get to experience a new life!

Sorry to hear about your bad news. We will definitley be praying for the family!!!

That's really sweet of Mel to spearhead this! When my Gma passed away in June, we had a VERY small family thing at my parents' home where we just talked about her. It was very endearing and just what she would have wanted. I think it's really important for those who can't go to have some sort of closure and way to remember her well.
After my grandmother's service in Feb, we all went back to a nearby aunt's house and had an ice cream party (ice cream was her fave dessert and she was always saying "There's always room for ice cream!". :) I hope she is able to get others together. It's the silver lining.

Congrats to your sister! As you know, baby girls are tons of fun. :cutie:
Those sound like great ways to remember your grandmothers.

There was no progress with the service plans today because Mel's grandfather is thinking of coming up here for a service but his health isn't the greatest right now. So everything is on hold for the time being.

Congratulations on your niece! And at the risk of sounding trite, which is not at all my intent, it really is a great big circle of life. We lose and we gain.
Thank you!

It is so true. We are mortal and we will be called back to Him someday. That is life.

So Sorry Tim and Congrats as well!
My DD paige was born 1 year to the day after my Grandpa died. He was a wonderful person and her being born has turned that awful day into something wonderful.
Wow. That is amazing. Melody was hoping my sisters baby wasn't born on the same day and she wasn't (by one day) I thought that if she was born on the same day, every time Mel saw our niece, she would think of her grandmother.

I'm so sorry to hear about Mel's grandmother but happy at the new blessing of a niece!

It's shocking how long i've been off the boards really, have lots to catch up on and looking forward to reading more of this at the weekend but just wanted to say hi and send hugs to you all from jolly old England xx
Hello! Long time no see. I've been off the boards for a while too and have been easing my way back in.

Thank you for the wishes.

Hoping you will be sharing pictures of your new niece after you see her this morning. :)
I have to DL them... you can wait till tomorrow... right? ;)

I'm so sorry to hear that Mel's gran passed on. I'll continue to keep your family in my prayers.

Congrats on your new baby niece!
Thanks Julia.

Aw, congratulations on your new niece. I know everyone is so excited to have a new life to celebrate. God Bless You!
She is so cute and tiny. My poor sister has been through a lot the last few days... she is relaxing now. (as much as you can with a new born! LOL)

I didn't get to hold my niece yet but I cannot wait to. She is really cute!

Hey Tim, YOu're up! Another late night after work?? When are things going to slow down?? Maybe you could catch a couple days off, say around the DC Meet time...??? :confused3;)

We were leaving the UK walking towards France, the sun was shining, and we had great company... what could go wrong? I mean look at this.

More topiaries.

As we made our way into the romantic confines of Paris, France, there was a little tiff that erupted between Mel and myself. I won't get into specifics but of course she was right and I was wrong. It is funny how the littlest thing can compound into something greater. You will see in a minute how this progresses.

We were going to get Mel her grey goose slush but we stopped to see Aladdin first.

OK back to get the slushy. The line was long for the slush. Mel said she wanted to try a chocolate crepe. I jumped out of line and got the crepe and started eating it. Bad move. That didn't go over too well. We got finally got her drink and walked over to a photopass photographer for a picture and to regroup. Mel took Dave & Branda's picture and I was holding Juliana and I kicked over Mel's $9 drink that she took 1 sip out of. UGH. Juliana and I took a pic then it was back over to stand in the long line again.

At least while we were in line we had a little entertainment.

More pics.

Still time for a little MJ.

By this time everyone was getting hungry. Dave & the kids stopped in Morocco for food and found a table while I kept going to Japan.

I ended up at the Yakitori house. I got 2 Shogun Combinations - teriyaki chicken thigh, sukiyaki beef, and steamed rice along with a couple sushi rolls.

DSC08716.jpg

This was the meal I liked the least the whole trip. The beef was so fatty and I wasn't really feeling the sushi. Mel had an uncooked piece of chicken on her plate so I had to go bring it back. She was fuming by this point and I'm not sure she even ate anything.

We finished up with lunch and tried to figure out what we were going to do. Our 'plan' was to leave Epcot in the afternoon and come back in the early evening. We were on the other side of the World showcase and the kids were behaving themselves. We decided we were going to stay but we split up from Dave, Branda, and the kids for a little while.

We continued on to the American Adventure. Juliana stopped at the kidcot stop then tried out the hop scotch.

We didn't stay here long we were moving on to Italy.

DSC08729.jpg

Over to the right I saw a bridge opening up and I watched as the barges were coming into the Showcase Lagoon. I never even realized that there was a bridge over there. You can see it open in this pic.

DSC08731.jpg

Mel was starting to forgive me and things were starting to get back to 'normal'. OK then... on to Germany- where I didn't even have a chance to get a beer. We did go in a few shops and I thought about buying this $37500 replica of Cinderella's Castle but I changed my mind at the last minute.

We met back up with our friends in Germany and continued around the WS.

Up next- the rest of the WS, is TT ever not broken down, & Illuminations(or not)!

Hey Tim, YOu're up! Another late night after work?? When are things going to slow down?? Maybe you could catch a couple days off, say around the DC Meet time...??? :confused3;)

No 'real' work tonight.. just was working on finishing this TR. LOL

DC meet? That didn't happen yet? (j/k) LOL I guess I haven't been away that long then. :goodvibes

uh-oh, lover's quarrel. I want specifics!! OK, not really. But I do know that long days, too much fun, unmet expectations, hot weather, and kicked over drinks can make a perfect storm situation. Glad she was able to get over quickly and move on.

NO BEER in GErmany??!!

We got "stuck" at the bridge one evening after Illuminations. I think they actually put it up, and leave it up so folks can't go on a midnight stroll around the lagoon- which is exactly what we wanted to do. :headache:

I think the split up was a good idea for a short spell. Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing.

LOVE your first photos!!

We had the Japan CS last time too. BLECH!!! It was like $.25 cent top ramen with floaties. Never again.

Never touch a woman's crepe. Ever.

If you call 2+ hours getting over it quickly! :lmao::lmao:

I should watch what I type.. she MIGHT read this someday! :rotfl::rotfl:

I know. What the heck was I thinking?

They (Disney) think of everything, don't they. :sad2:

I think the split up was a good idea for a short spell. Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing.
We needed to have a little 'alone' time.

LOVE your first photos!!
Thank you!

It was pretty bad. I won't be rushing back there.. nor will I be crawling back there either! :lmao:

Never touch a woman's crepe. Ever.
I didn't know that rule!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I figured I could eat half and pass the other half on. WOOPS! :scared1:

If you call 2+ hours getting over it quickly! :lmao::lmao:

That's exactly what I"m saying. 2 hours is generous. :rotfl2:

I should watch what I type.. she MIGHT read this someday! :rotfl::rotfl:

She might, but it'll be long enough away that you can look back at this little tiff and laugh about it together.

I know. What the heck was I thinking?

You were thinking about re-reading your MAN-ual- that section on horking snacks.

They (Disney) think of everything, don't they. :sad2:

They do. From pool hopping to mug re-use. THey think of it all.

We needed to have a little 'alone' time.

I don't doubt it. They probably wanted a break too.

It was pretty bad. I won't be rushing back there.. nor will I be crawling back there either! :lmao:

:lmao: If sushi isn't good, they dont' get a second chance.

I didn't know that rule!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Not how it works. Section 1057.308

Thank you for the update, Tim. I know have a lot going on right now, but it really brightened my morning to see more about your trip. :goodvibes

That's a beautiful photo of Epcot! The sky, Spaceship Earth, the lovely landscaping, and floating flowers. So pretty, I just love it.

So it was an afternoon with a few mishaps, but no vacation is complete without those, that's for sure!

And Aladdin! He's a favorite of mine, for very specific reasons. Long story. Glad that you all got some character time, and things started to look up. :thumbsup2

You're back!

I thought I saw a decimal point on the price of that castle...my thought? "It's on sale!"

nice pics tim. i cant believe you didnt buy that castle!!! it would look good on the dining room table!!:thumbsup2

Good to see you back with another update!

Sorry to hear things did not go to well with the drink but looks like you guys made the best of it.

Beautiful pics of the topiaries, especially the cinderella one!

Yes! A Tim update. I'm so happy now. :yay::yay::yay:

First, haven't you learned yet? When a woman asks you to get her something you get it and present it to her the way you got it. IF she wants you to try it, she will offer you a bite. And I cannot believe you knocked over her drink. :scared1: The "not" getting a beer in Germany was probably your punishment for your earlier sins. :rolleyes1

As much as we loved our time with Shelley and Tom on our 25th anniversary, we split up a couple of times to. It's really important to have your "alone time."

And, yes, I can wait for the baby pictures if it won't be a WEEK before we see them. ;)
