FALSE RUMOR : Point add-on minimum going up to 100 for all resorts not just BLT!

Just remember, the "Contemporary Tower" being DVC was a "rumor" for a long time too.....Turned out to be the truth! I think this could be a cover up for things to come, and that's why some guides are "confused"!

Well, there is one major difference. For 2 years BLT was a "no comment." This ended up being a case where Disney was more than willing to comment...and the comment was that the info reported was incorrect.

Sales guides are only human. I think someone simply read a memo wrong.

As for what the future holds, I'm not sure that there will ever be any blanket changes implemented. The contracts on the first wave of resorts get shorter by the day. I cannot envision Disney rejecting someone wanting to add 25 points at Vero or HHI or even SSR. To this day points at BCV and BWV can still be hard to come by. Would DVC really (selfishly) decide to only distribute reclaimed points 100 at a time? Would they choose to sell only a single 100-pt add-on over giving 4 people the 25-pt add-on they want?

I think decisions like this will be made on a resort-by-resort basis. BLT is the crown jewel and DVC only has one opportunity (at least in my life time) to sell it. So they can get aggressive with pricing.

The same thing may happen with the Grand Californian, although I selfishly hope not. I've got my eye on 50 points out there with the idea being to visit once every 3 years. 100 points is pretty much out of the question.

I honestly think this is another one of those rumors like BLT as another poster stated and WILL be the way things will end up going at some point and most likely sooner rather than later.

I agree that is quite possible. More than one member has reported being told by a guide that the minimum add-on is going up at all resorts. That people don't want to believe it and some guides are not on the same page does not mean it is not in the works. OTOH there were guides saying BLT would be $200 per point.

Actually, i imagine they have many talks based comments on the DIS Boards.

I am convinced that the Disney Bus Drivers do this on purpose. Sit around the break room, make up some rumor, start talking about it on bus and "watch the fireworks" Disney transportation CMs always have the "best" rumors

We already have a multi-tiered system. From a sales standpoint there has not been a level playing field in a long time. Look at the promotions. If you want to buy BCV, BWV or VWL, you get no discounts. Last spring SSR was $10 off. AKV is currently $6.25 off while BLT is $5 off.

Base pricing varies wildly, too. HHI and Vero are $92 per point. OKW is $101. AKV, BWV, BCV are $104. BLT is $112.

Setting aside issues of personal taste, it's clear DVC believes that BLT to be the most attractive property they have offered to date. And they are going set the pricing and sales terms accordingly.

The framework of the DVC program is unchanged. Whatever availability remains at 7 months is accessible by all owners regardless of Home resort.

I've been away (at WDW!) and DH did 2 25 point add ons for me as a Christmas present. 25 VWL and 25BCV. He asked Michelle about minimum point add ons and was told it was only for BLT.
