I do not see an option to purchase this excursion as an observer only. Has anyone had experience accompanying the excursion but not participating in the zip lines? I'd like to be able to take pictures of my husband and children as they zip line, but don't know if there is an option to do so without purchasing a full fare adult ticket?

We did the ziplines last year and there is no possible way of taking pictures while others are on the ziplines unless you are with them. The picture below is the chairlift up to the top of the ziplines. The lines then run about 2/3 the way down the mountain in the underbrush. You then get back on the chairlift to back up the mountain. It's all mountain terrain so no way for you to just follow along.

Thank you for your response. That helps very much. One other question since you've done this before:

When you come in for a "landing" at each of the stops, is it a gentle "landing" or is there some impact involved? I am still recovering from ankle surgery and while I am much, much better, I need to be cautious about anything that could jar my ankle too badly.

Your thoughts?

We just did the zip lining at rose hall a couple weeks ago. You may have a jarring landing, several people did. It seemed the heavier people weighed, the faster they went on the line, the more chance they'd have a rough landing. There's someone at each landing to help catch you, but if you come in to fast, you're probably going jar, if not bang your ankle coming in.

And mother nature affects the speed of the lines - our guides said if it has rained and the lines are wet, you will go a lot faster.

I'd pass if I were you.

We did the zip lining at Mystic Mountain and I never banged my ankle but I could easily see how someone could. There were also a lot of wooden steps to get to the zip lines.

Thank you for your replies. It greatly helped solidify the difficult decision to pass on this excursion and let my husband and kids go without me.

If they are going to Mystic Mountain there are other options for you that don't include the ziplines so you could go with them just mot do the zip line part.
