Fall 2016 planning (continuation of 2016 Free Dining Watch)

If we are arriving Nov. 15th, what date can I start making ADRs? I know the formula is 180+10 but I keep coming up with different dates when I count it!

I got FREE DINING!!!! And I got it on my preferred dates, while my kids are on fall break!!! Wooohoo! It is 2 rooms at Pop instead of 2 rooms at POR, but I've heard good things about Pop, so I am happy!! See y'all at WDW Oct 1-9!!
We will be there Sept 28-Oct 4. See you at Petals. Haha

Has anyone had any luck with FD at Yacht Club?

I had been all over this client trying to get them to give me dates and a resort before FD came out and they never did. Finally, this morning they did but of course FD is slim pickings right now...

May 19th is your ADR date. You can start booking online at 6am EST or 7am my phone.

May 19th is going to be a great day. It's hubby's bday, I get to make my ADR and SW will be releasing their flight schedule I need so hopefully booking flights that day :)

Can I book CRT online?
I randomly look at restaurants and times available and it always says to call for CRT.
I thought we were going to be ok skipping that and doing Akerhus, but I can't be at Disney and not eat there lol

I'm booked for CRT! Didn't have to pay ahead either since I was booked with the DP

Eta and I did it online lol. Guess I didn't answer your question really did I?

I've got 3 little princesses so we are doing akershus, CRT and 1900 park fare!

We booked CRT online on our ADR date, no problem. Had to verify with a credit card like everything else but didn't have to pay upfront because of the DDP I believe. Easy peasy! Hope you get what you want!! :mickeybar

I Switched my resorts on FD from CSR to POR (garden view).... I am now regretting it,....I think...switched because I thought the feel of POR would be better for my 7 yr old granddaughter
Did I make mistake?

Do I have to prepay Hoop de Doo or Spirit of Aloha if I'm on the dining plan????? Or does that only hold true for CRT?

I've never done it, I just know that others have done it from reading these boards. You used to be able to activate your package tickets three days before your package began, now it's up to ten days early. I believe they need to be activated by Guest Services outside which ever park you want to head to. You can ask at your resort, but they may say no, you can't do that. I personally don't find the people working at the resorts very knowledgeable about tickets. Guest services is the way to go. The one disadvantage is that you can't book fp's for those early days until you go there and activate them.
Yes this is still true...and what I am doing.

Also, its is much cheaper to add a few days to an exisiting ticket that start over with new tickets on a split stay.

We added 2 days to our 4 day package and will activate early, (we saved over 1000.00 dollars doing this versus adding 2 day ticket to the first part of our splt stay.)

Down side is you cannot add FP to the reservations without tickets. Now if your able to add the full tickets days to the first half of your split stay your golden....

I HIGHLY recommend this for EVERYONE doing a split stay, you will save alot of cash....

I think either will be wonderful. It is truly going to be what you make of it. It will be special and magical no matter where you stay.

I'm not sure, but I don't see why you would. It's the same deal... 2 credits, right? I would assume you could make the ADRs and not have to pay as long as your trip is linked on your account so it knows you have the ddp

Thanks! Yes, it's two credits. I'm going to try.

I don't think you made a mistake. Both will be nice, but a couple of advantages to POR (IMO) is the boat to Disney Springs and the resort is smaller so not so much walking. FD was hard to get at POR so you scored in that respect.

When you book it, the reservation system will ask how you want to pay. If you have dining plan linked, you pick dining plan. Simple as that. You still have to have a card for the cancellation policy but no charge unless you're a no show.

:yay: That's fantastic!! Congratulations!

I don't think you will have a big problem with BOG lunch. It's dinner that seems to be the probably lately. And I have been doing trial runs of our ADR (usually at random times during the day so not at 6am) and I have seen lunch available many times, and we are a party of 9.

Thank you! I'm not expecting too many issues, but I'd be happy to have my ADR's set and done, then ill be ready for CP reservations, lol.

I think you made a great choice!! I love CSR, but the CM's at POR are wonderful!! We were eating at the QS restaurant for lunch and it started raining. Almost immediately the CM's brought out coloring books, crayons, board games, hula hoops etc. So the kids had things to do. They participated in all the activities, telling the adults to feel free to finish their meals and relax! Nice touches, friendly staff, beautiful resort and if you have a room with the Murphy bed that will be an extra treat. Grandkids and WDW are a match made in heaven!!!

I stayed POR when it was Dixie Landings and I loved the boat to DTD but POFQ is my all time moderate favorite. I guess everyone found the secret best deal in town that is why there are never any discounts on this resort.
I thought POR was actually bigger than CSR. Food court in CSR outstanding

LOVE POFQ, it was on my bucket list. we stayed there in 2013 with an FD Pin.

That's my arrival day! May 19 is when we can make our ADRs, and then you can make them for the entire trip if you're staying at a Disney resort. If you're not, then you have to make your reservations 180 days out from each separate day, so you'd have to reserve on May 20 for Nov 16, May 21 for Nov 17, etc.
