Fall 2016 planning (continuation of 2016 Free Dining Watch)

Yay I'm glad I found this thread.
I didn't post much on the last 3, but loved following along.
Life was Boeing having to adult and not have anything to refresh and read lol

I'm still obsessively refreshing Disney site hoping to find CSR or CBR for our stay 11/15-11/19.

Me too...same dates... I don't think they released many rooms for Nov... I was on 15 mins after release and only pirate rooms were available and we are a family of 5...Really hoping that they release more rooms as Nov gets closer

Exactly. People don't like it but the irrational human brain is easily manipulated by a smart business, and Disney is most definitely a SMART BUSINESS. I have a friend who would much rather pay an extra $1000 than have to book a trip twice
I've booked this trip 3 damn times. I'm obviously not who they are aiming for lol

I have a dinner a Chef Mickey's and breakfast at Akershus, as well as a lunch and a dinner at BOG. RO discount was my first choice, as I'm pretty sure we'd break about even with the dining plan, but none seem to be available yet.

Yep, we'll have a stroller. I've been crunching a lot of numbers, my head is spinning! $200 for food seems like a great deal, I really just don't want to be spending so much resort time walking/waiting for buses/making multiple bus stops since our trip is really only 4 days, and the kids are little and will probably get tired/cranky easily. Argh, decisions! Thanks for your input, I'm so happy that you've got the FD you've been waiting for!!

The ADRs you have now probably add up to $200... And then you would have a couple other ts/cs to play with. And not have to worry about the cost of meals while you're there! That's a big plus for me. Everyone can get whatever they want! And my girls don't have to share meals. The pool at CBR looks amazing!

My TA got me a standard CBR room this am for 9/25-10/1. So excited!!!!

Woo hoo!!!! Apparently CBR opened a bunch of rooms this morning!

I messaged my TA to tell her I found a reservation and got it to ask about canceling my original reservation and she actually found one too so she was able to modify my original reservation so now we are booked for 9/30-10/9 and dont have to change any dining plans and I'm super excited!

Now for mnsshp tickets to go on sale at a normal price!

OMG!!!!! I GOT FREE DINING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really don't think there are enough exclamation points in the world to express how freaking excited I am. I am shaking. We're going to Disney World!!!! And eating all the things!!!! It took a while to go through all the steps and I was SO worried it would disappear before I could get it reserved. But I got through to the confirmation page and now I can breathe again! :yay:

For those who are going the first week of October... KEEP LOOKING!!!! I was casually looking, like I've been doing all week, just on my phone while I was straightening my hair, and now I very well be late for work/dropping my girls off for school cause I'm on here instead of getting the rest of my clothes on (I'm not naked or afraid, don't worry) and fixing my coffee.

I reserved CBR for Oct. 1-Oct. 9, so the first night we will need a hotel, but we might actually not even stay in Orlando, bc we are leaving after I get off work and would be getting in LATE on the 30th, so that was the best possible way to shorten our trip.

I. AM. SO. EXCITED.
So happy for you!

We are waiting for MVMCP tickets to go on sale. I am nervous with all the price increases lately that they will go up a lot too!

So I have never posted on here, but have followed all 3 pages - glad to find everyone again. Right now we are booked on FD at CBR Pirate room the week before Thanksgiving. But I had found a deal and lost it at CBR standard room the week after Thanksgiving. Is the week after Thanksgiving better to go because of lower crowds than the week before Thanksgiving?

I could use some input on MVMCP. the tickets are a ton on money for me and last year I saw quite a few posts that people who went thought a lot of the nights were packed and every year more and more tickets were being sold and it was becoming so crowded that it was not worth the expense. I don't mind spending what for me is a considerable amount of money but not if it's so crowded that it's a waste.
I have only been to the Christmas party once but I always go to the Halloween party. I would pick a party day thru the week or on Sunday. Closer to the end of the night the crowds will thin and some rides will have little or no waiting. In any case the party should still be less crowded than MK on a regular day.

Question - input appreciated:

Family of 12, first-ever WDW trip.

We could stay at CBR (water/pool view) or POR (garden view).

Same dates, same cost.

Kids' ages range from 4 - teenager/adult.

Which would you pick?

It was posted on another thread that Halloween tickets would be going up by 10 percent.

That's the rumor... Honestly I think Disney is seeing how well this after hours thing does before they release the priced for this year's hard tickets events. If they were selling out after hours each time it was offered I would be afraid mnsshp would get hiked way up. With the new discount for after hours for dvc and ap holders, I'm assuming not as many people are shelling out $150 for after hours access.

I would pick the one least spread out. We are a family of 7 and staying in a resort with everything close together is the best for us.

I've posted this somewhere before (hope it wasn't here) but I really hope they continue the EMM through my dates! I would love to do that as an add-on for our trip!

I'm with everyone still waiting for party ticket pricing (MVMCP in our case) and sale date. Sure would love to KNOW what they're going to do about the pricing.

I'm so torn about what I hope for as far as party ticket prices. I've heard about them just getting more and more crowded to the point that many who used to love them are considering not going because it just isn't fun anymore. That scares me! I wish Disney would reduce the # of attendees by a few thousand, even if they had to raise the prices just a bit more to offset the reduction in sales. However, I hate to see families be priced out anymore than they already are. Such a tough thing to figure out. Good thing I don't get a say! lol

I know what you mean, I also would pay more to have fewer people and it be less crowded. The change from 2013 to our party in 2015 was shocking. But the crowd level changes in general were really noticeable, so I guess it's not surprising that the parties are more crowded too.

The younger kids would probably like CBR better for their pool area (zero entry and pirate ship splash area). POR is really pretty though and isn't as big so not as much walking. Another plus for POR is the boat to Disney Springs. It is a favorite among many. If I had to choose I'd probably go with POR.

Who has made their ADR's for their fall trip already? What did you get? And what are your favorite meals at "the World?"
We have made ours!! :flower1:
