Fall 2016 planning (continuation of 2016 Free Dining Watch)

Can anyone help me out? I'm currently booked at CBR but a room just popped up slightly cheaper at OKW. Anyone stayed at both? WWYD?

Hi! I'm looking for opinions for my fall trip. I've been following these threads silently, and you've all seemed so helpful, so I thought I'd ask your two cents :) I'm originally booked 9/29-10/4 at POFQ, no dining plan or park hoppers. My kids are 5 and 2, so we were aiming for ease of getting around both the resort and using the buses, hence the POFQ choice. We weren't really planning on park hopping, and do already have our ADRs set based on the parks I had planned visiting. This morning when I saw CBR standard rooms were open for FD, I jumped on that and booked it. It'll cost us about $200 more, basically the price of adding the PH, but gives us the FD (which would otherwise be $750 for us). So, my question is, do you think it's worth it to move to CBR? Or will I regret not having the smaller resort with the kids, especially my 2 year old?

I have not stayed at POFQ and I see they have opened a new splash area, but 2yrs ago we reluctantly stayed at CBR preferred for FD and were pleasantly surprised (we even stayed in a nonrefurbished room).

The resort is huge and walks to the main building can be far but the scenery is georgeous. Food court was very good no complaints. We loved the beach theme, sandy areas for DS to play (kids meals come in a sand pale with shovel) while we relaxed in the hammock watching some of the higher fireworks.

I don't know how much swimming you plan to do, but the pool is amazing. Zero entry as well as a gated splash area. Your littles will love it. We couldn't get ours out of there. We were even considering there again for this year JUST for the pool for DS (5).

It depends on what you want but I think the FD is worth it. We did so many character meals it was more than worth it!

There is a CBR thread that is so helpful and I also watched a lot of YouTube videos to get a "feel" of the resort. There are even some where people walk the grounds so you have an idea of how long it takes to get places.

Sorry for the long post, but I hope it helps you out. Good luck!

They're releasing their inventory over a period of time instead of all at once. This lets them watch things more closely and make adjustments as needed. Also, many people just give up the first day and book something without ever checking again=more money for Disney.

great to see, I remember posts last year in the next few days/weeks after FD dropped that people were able to find what they wanted as time went on.

Does anyone know that if you can recover a disney pin code if you lost the one you got? I recently moved and must of misplaced mine.

Yes - I lost my postcard last year. Just call in and they'll check your account to see if there's a PIN associated with it.

We are there 8/31 or 9/1.... Depending on airfare. I have room only on 8/31. There til 9/12
So far some we have not had Ohana, Sanaa, hoop Dee do, 50s prime time, tusker house. Sci fi and le celliar. I am not sure If I want to use 2 credits on le celliar or try something else new.
If you are thinking about trying something new, I highly recommend Narcoossee's. My DH and I LOVE that place and I think it is worth the 2 credits.

Thanks for your input! Gives me a lot to think about about it :) I feel like it would be a no brainer if our trip was going to be longer- the 4.5 days we have to squash everything in is what's worrying me. Downfall of two teachers that can't take off a week of school :-( lol

Does anyone know how long I can hold onto both of these reservations for the exact same dates without fear of them being canceled? One is the one I made this morning, the other is in MDE by the TA I booked the trip through (so I can't modify/cancel that one online).

I just checked while my kids were eating breakfast and found a standard room at CBR for my dates under the Disney visa offer. And well, DH *really* wanted to stay there but I was grumpy about the extra cost.

BUT I grabbed it just now with my DV and now I have to make a decision. Gah.

Yes, stay at CBR! We love it there!

I could use some input on MVMCP. the tickets are a ton on money for me and last year I saw quite a few posts that people who went thought a lot of the nights were packed and every year more and more tickets were being sold and it was becoming so crowded that it was not worth the expense. I don't mind spending what for me is a considerable amount of money but not if it's so crowded that it's a waste.
