Thanks to the PP for posting the Sean Connery picture. Hubba hubba! Made my morning.
As far as the original post..
It is such a slippery slope when it comes to arguing things that people will spend money on. Example. My family things its crazy to spend 3k on a 6 day vacation inside the US, but me? Uh, I don't agree especially if the 6 days is in disney world..
As far as the original post, it is both peoples bad. The shop owner should have had it authenticated before selling, but as well the poster should have made sure that it was the real deal before purchase. Mistakes happen and in these things when you are talking about high end consignment sales tend to be final.
It pays to cover all your bases.
So OP, I'd try again to have a nice calm discussion with the store owner. I would ask her nicely to meet you at Tiffanys so that they could confirm if it is real or fake, and suggest maybe she might want to bring her other tiffanys pieces to be on the safe side so there will not be anymore question of authenticity. I would also bring up nicely again that you and she have had a good business relationship and it would be benefit both of you if you can work it out.
If she refuses, you can always re-sell the knock off on craigslist as a knock off. There are other people who would be more than happy to purchase it for that reason.

) I feel no guilt about my splurge.

(didn't stalk you - it was all right there in the first lines of each post on that search page.)
