Fake Tiffany VENT

It is also a rookie mistake not to verify high end stuff like that before you walk out of the shop. It is actually a fairly common scam to buy a piece and then trying to return a fake claiming that when you got it home you discovered the problem.
When you return the item to her, she probably doesn't have anyway at all to verify it is the exact same piece you walked out with.

Many reputable places will accept no returns at all because of scams like that. When she is arguing with you, she might be trying to avoid losing her shirt to scam artists. After all, she doesn't know you any better than you know her.

Great point. I never even thought of that.

Tough luck buttercup. You bought it at a consignment shop, you should have made sure it was authentic BEFORE you bought it. Not the shop owners problem.

Wait wait wait. Why on Earth didn't you check it with your magnifying thingy before you bought it??? Of COURSE the shop owner is arguing. She probably thinks you're trying to scam her (bought her "authentic" one and are trying to return a fake you had all along).

This is definitely YOUR mistake...live and learn.

This is why I NEVER buy second hand ANYTHING! If i can't afford it new then I just can't afford it. I'll wait for a sale.

Sorry this happened to you OP but the lesson i think learned is that if you want something that's $$$ don't go to Disney. It will be there next year. :goodvibes

Is this post a joke?

If you're worried about fakes why not just buy one at Tiffany?
Also, you can bring any LV item to an LV store to be authenticated.

Some items other than the newer "Return to Tiffany" line which isn't that new at all, are vintage or heirloom meaning Tiffany no longer makes them but they are still quite valuable maybe more than when originally purchased.

Mta!

All the "high end" name dropping is just odd too.

I am just having a hard time understanding the Original Post.

OP has a rich boyfriend that OP claims to love to buy her Tiffany jewelry and real Louboutin shoes (she knows are real since she saw the receipt)

Yet she has to sell them to pay for Disney and a louis vuitton bag she wants?

Why doesn't rich boyfriend just buy the bag instead of the jewelry and the shoes? And why is she selling the gifts to pay for Disney?

I'm confused :confused3

Exactly. If you are so concerned about fakes, maybe you should make sure they aren't BEFORE you make the purchase.

I know some of you are not going to get this. A few will!

Why would some of us not get this?????? Some of us may not agree with you, but that doesn't mean we don't "get" what you are say.

I was taught that name dropping anything or anyone is not the \olite thing to do. Am I totally out of the loop here and this is standard behavior?

Not standard amongst truly classy people at all. I'm honestly still hoping the OP will come back and say she was just kidding to see the reaction of people. If not then there is really nothing more I can say that wouldn't get me in trouble with the DIS powers that be. :thumbsup2

I honestly think the OP must do a little PWI. Seriously, look back at her older posts. I'm also just gonna say it, I don't believe that Dr. was messing with her kid for one hot minute. Somebody needed some attention on the Dis, that is just the feeling *I* have gotten from this woman.

Not to sound rude, but your post is nothiing short of bragging. Coach this, Tiffany that, Louis Vuitton bag this. But, yet you need that extra cash from your give aways to go to WDW?

It sounds like you are "middle class" trying to pretend your high society with a $3k Louis Vuitton bag. Are you trying to impress people?

I love Coach I love Dooney and Bourke. I have several that I have purchased at either Macy's or various outlet stores. I like to have a few a nice things, I know, I would NEVER, EVER buy a $3k purse. I think that would be ludicrous. But hey, that's just me...

So OP's PWI=BS LOL :rolleyes1

I LOVE Tiffany jewelry and I am fortunate enough that I have a DBF that loves to buy it for me. I have several pieces one is in my signature pic! It's me it's how I am.

I deal with a high end consignment shop a few times a year. I wear a lot of high end clothing and what I don't want the following season goes to her. I usually make $300-$500 and it always goes right into the Disney fund. Never once had a problem.

I found a new store on Craigslist that specializes in Louis Vuitton. I have always wanted one but I refuse to carry a fake so I still don't have one. All I need to do is skip a Disney trip and I could have one but I can't seem to be able to do that. I recently went to this new consignment store and she had about 15 of them. They all seemed real according to my research. She also had all the other type bags, all real.

Today I brought her about 8 items. I am dumping all my Coach stuff. I figured I would use that consignment money made to buy one of the Vuitton bags she has. I was planing on bringing her a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes we would both made a nice profit on! THEY are real fur sure I saw the invoice when my DBF bought them for me!

I spotted a Tiffany bracelet and I bought it. When I went home I put it under a magnifier glass and it's fake. I called the owner up immediately. She argued with me about it. Later called me back and said she went to the Tiffany web site and that bracelet is there. YES it's a classic, doesn't mean that it is real. I spotted several differenced from he Tiffany picture and the bracelet I bought from her. It's a good fake but it's FAKE! So now I have to go back and argue my case with her. Her web site says AUTHENTIC stuff. I think she should take it back with a great big apology to me but I have a feeling that this is going to be a fight.

My argument is just because it looks like Tiffany does not mean it IS. They are quite specific on how they make their jewelry. When I called her to say it was a fake she should have said bring it in for an immediate refund.

Guess I am NOT getting a Vuitton from her, there are a LOT of fakes out there and if I could not trust her with a bracelet I don't see how I can trust a much more expensive bag, even with all the research that I have done about how to spot a fake one.

If I do not get my money back I will per sue it with my bank and I will be the biggest mouth about how you can't trust the validity of her stuff! I am really angry about this! Not only will she lose a good customer she will lose a great consigner. Her store is a lot easier for me to get to so I decided to give all my business to her.

I know some of you are not going to get this. A few will!

When you're buying jewelry or handbags or anything else where there is a strong knock-off market, and you are buying from a consignment store and not directly from the source, you need to know what you are buying before walking out of the store. How do you know for certain that it ISN'T an authentic Tiffany bracelet and not just an older version?

Either way, I'd think it's time to lay off the consignment deals for awhile.

I will say this thread has been enlightening. I had NO ideal how much a Louis Vuitton bag was. And I had never heard of that brand of shoes. I guess this wouldn't be the thread to admit that my last purse came from Kohls --- with a coupon. :scared1:

Dear god OP, what a horrific plight. I can't imagine the sheer horror that each waking moment brings for you right now. I thought I'd seen and heard it all, what with wars, terrorism, diseases, crime, abuse etc. But fake Tiffany jewellery? I feel physically sick. May God bless you and grant you the strength to get through this.

ok I am selling the shoes because they don't fit well. DBF is in agreement. He read that they run small so he bought them a half a size bigger and they are too big. I wanted to return them, we were in the process of moving it got placed on the back burner and the place had a 30 day return policy and we just ended up with them. I wore them twice and they don't fit right.

I would NEVER disrespect him by taking a gift and re gifting or reselling without talking to him first.

As far as MY trying to scam her by bringing back a different piece. That would be difficult this piece is used and needed to be tumbled and polished. She ADVERTISES that all her merchandise is verified so I believed her.

I could just go to Tiffany but I saw a bracelet that was USED for a reasonable price in a store. I bought it, got it home and saw that it was fake. She needs to take it back, end of story!

I knew some of you would be your typical cynical evil selves. You are not hurting me. I expect it on this board.

DO NOT bring my daughter into this I find that truly disgusting!

Not cynical. Just observant and, quite frankly, unimpressed. The post is about a knock off Tiffany bracelet. Why even mention the LV, Coach, Louboutin at all? There are 8 completely irrelevant, name-dropping, attention seeking paragraphs in the OP and you decide to end it with a passive-aggressive insult. It was pointless and as such came across as bragging and, honestly, not even believable.

And "Some of you are not going to get this." Really? Sounds like something a 14 year old would say. "Some of you are too poor to know what I'm talking about." It's condescending and rude.

This honestly could be one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read on all the internets and I read youtube comments.

And you didn't verify authenticity before you bought the piece why? Because the owner has a claim of all pieces being authentic? Does she also have a sign that says any piece that is not authentic will be taken back no questions asked? What's her return policy?

Regardless, it was YOUR "rookie" mistake to not verify authenticity FIRST. Doesn't matter what her store claims. You trusted an unauthorized Tiffany vendor?? That's IMO the exact same thing as buying stuff off of ebay and being cheesed off when it turns out to be a fake.

Now...that aside. It would be nice if the store owner stood by her claim of authenticity and refunded your money.

...

;) This SO reminds me of one of my SIL's-wear Lane Bryant clothes, shoes from the mall-but every Christmas her wealthy employer gives each woman a Louis Vuitton purse. At a recent gathering she plopped it in the middle of the dining room table, where we all were gathered, so we could admire it
