F&W Festival...One Week to go!

tomandrobin - thanks for the info on ice wine! Sounds like something DD would like - she only drinks champagne and white zinfindel - so this might appeal to her.

Regarding crowds, are Sunday evenings any better than Saturdays? Unfortunately/fortunately, we will be there on Monday night, but we're going to MNSSHP then.

We have a bit longer than just a 1 week wait, but we'll get there!

Yes, the locals go home.

I quit doing the booths on Saturday just because of the crowds. I plan my trip to allow me to do the Festival during the week. It's just MUCH nicer!

Word of wisdom for sure ! During the week was much better !

23 more days. Hope the crowds die down by then :sunny:

I really hope you are kidding!! It doesn't seem to be a festival that wears out it's welcome. We've gone the weekend of Halloween a few years ago, and it was very crowded that Saturday as well. DH and I "gave up" trying to eat around at the booths, the lines were just too long for us to keep waiting. This was about 3 in the afternoon, not even the evening. Now, we didn't go into Epcot on the Sunday that weekend, so maybe that would have been a better plan.

I'll look for you there! :-)
Will you be wearing your lime green mickey head somewhere?

We just got back yesterday from a weekend trip to the F&WF. We went during the day on Saturday (10/7). When we first arrived at opening the crowds were light. They got heavier as the day progressed but not too bad. We left kind of early to go watch the Gator game. Somewhere around 3pm, I think. Still, not nearly as bad as last year. Not sure when we went last year so can't really compare time of year to determine if that could have been a factor. One thing I know for sure - it was HOT! I was born and raised in FL and still complain about the heat. You would think Mother Nature would be sick of me at this point and would turn of the oven!

We will be heading back down on Thursday for a trip with the kids (went without them this past weekend). We are going to MNSSHP Thursday evening and the F&WF during the day on Friday. Keeping my fingers crossed for cooler weather and light crowds!

Bobbi,
For what it's worth, we felt the evening crowds were lighter than the Saturday afternoon/early evening crowds. We were there Friday, Oct 6 from 7pm to 9:30 pm and it was better than Saturday Oct 7, 3 pm to 6 pm by far !

So we were both there on Saturday. I can tell you they did get worse after you left Mom. We were in the MK from 10 am until 2 pm. Made our way over to the World Showcase around 3 pm and stayed until 6 pm. It was very crowded. And we were with friends who were there that same time last year. They said last year was better. I guess just a different perspective.
